PSU diehard here....yep, still some of us around! Frickin (sp?) is not the kicker. Yep, he missed a shit load today. But regular (and future) kicker transferred to Texas. Kid was in a tough spot today. But no excuse for short misses and PAT miss. PSU defense played pretty well except for the last VA drive. Hurts to lose this...but they did cover(LOL). Anyone putting cash on PSU this season better beware....this would have been a awesome team this year, but will not be now!

5Dime line is even better: USA+104, Japan +303....??? 100 for 104 on USA/50 for 150+ on Japan! USA wins, +52. Japan wins, +50....????? |

current line @ Bovada: USA-135, Japan+350. Lay 135 for the 100 win on USA, or lay 50 to win 175 on Japan. If US wins, you are +50. If Japan wins, you are +40. Am I missing something here? Just woke up.... |

@14....you need to check your facts dude. The only taxed entity that I know right now that pays nothing into the US tax system, and gets a full refund back....is corporations. There are some who actually paid no tax on billions in earnings, and got over a hundred million back. And that does not include the corporate welfare that puts out tons and tons of tax payer dollars to either subsidize or prop up their respective businesses. Like I stated, this is complicated. But we as a country cannot keep putting out money without increasing revenues. This country became great on the "can do" attitude, including govt spending programs. Just cutting doesn't get it. And those spewing that venum don't get it either. You can't cut tax rates to the lowest in over 50 years, and increase spending on unfunded wishes and wants. And that is not even including over 4 billion a week on 2 supposed wars. Everyone, including the so called tea baggers, want everyone ELSE to cut spending. But when you put their respective districts or projects on the cutting board, they scream or cry about unfairness. Sorta like those claiming to be God fearing Americans who collect Social Security/Medicare or Medicaid, screaming and protesting to "get govt out of our lives". That is just plain hypocritical. If govt programs would cease, this country would cease. It was govt programs that built highways, sewers, water systems. The Hoover Dam was a govt program, along with TVA which supplied the south with dependable electric. Hell, the internet was originally a govt program, albet for military use at first. People just don't get it! That's the problem. They get all emotionally charged up by some loudmouth know nothing politician who is using them for personal gain, and they dont take the time or really care what the facts are. The very fact that you claim 45-50% of the people pay NO income tax is just an example. Not hating or blaming here....but everyone needs to chill out a minute, check the facts out, then make decisions based on warrented needs for the whole country. Somehow, we as a country, have forgotten the word UNITED when it comes down to it. We have become a nation of ME, ME, ME. I got mine, F you! And that over time will destroy us faster than anything else. We seem to have lost all sensibility when it comes to our needs as a country. And what's alarming, the fringe elements of our society seem to be the ones dictating what the agenda is. And that my friends, is a damn shame! |

Research...that is the best capper. Even if you just use the tools available here at Covers, Research is the best. Hard to just follow someone blind IMO. There are some very good ones here to note though.

Very Interesting thread! Fact: IT IS ACTUALLY A DEM WIN...They took 2 seats previously held by the GOP. Fact: Unions raise the standard of living....and since the unions have fallen in private workplace percentage, middle class has fallen as well. Fact: The argument that 45-50% of the people did not pay income tax is a distortion....They paid NO ADDED INCOME TAX! They still had their respective withholding taxes taken per paycheck. We also have to realize that the industry leaving this country is a combination of a lot of things. First one being that steel, auto, etc was a direct result of the US enjoying the fruits of the WW2 victory. Many things play into industry leaving, corporate interests in the bottom line being a main concern. This country runs on an "income based" tax program...that being federal, state, and local govts, as a majority, gain their revenue from tax bases. Real wages are going down, meaning tax bases are going down as well. This is a very complicated issue...but the bottom line, IMO, is that unions and union negotiate wages/benes/etc made the middle class what it was/is. I personally don't understand the attack on average workers. Why are people condemning those that have earned what they have, and get jealous over that? If you want to lower standards that is your choice. But having envy over someone else's bargained for wages/benes is not the answer. Isn't it interesting that we are fearing an economy (China) that is basically a state run and regulated economy. Oh, and one other thing.....over 70% of our debt is owed to one institution....our social security system. The pols borrowed from it. And the next largest holder of debt owed by us....Canada, which has strict laws/regs/etc pertaining to how business is done in their country. All this gotta make a person who really has an independent view wonder what the hell really is going on.
