Zippo,
I suggest you ask a gambler what the difference between a money line and a point spread is. mstef8, Any of the playoff contests are too short to reflect any skill and you have two options...bet on everything and hope to get hot or don't bother with it. If you're only good at picking sides then just wait for the regular season contest where over 6 months the cream will rise to the top. And who cares about wining percentage? All that matters is the bottom line (money). Stop bitching and play what your good at. If the free website isn't good enough for you go somewhere else. |

Yes I have! Thanks for the thought! He's 7 months now and hopefully will become a White Sox or D-backs fan.
But baseball is back and so am I!

The same has been said for monkeys picking stocks. People play the stock market and most have the illusion of making money but once you subtract out inflation the real winners are the people on Wall Street and the corporate bigwigs. And that's why you need to hit over 55% to make money because you have to pay the casinos.
Whether it's picking stocks or sports teams there are probably 10% of people who are pros and can make a real good living at it and probably 10% who are really bad at it. The rest fall somewhere in the middle and make or lose a little money but have fun doing it.
In regards to your point the sample size is significant. If you hit 60% over the course of 10, 100 or even 1,000 picks it probably still somewhat random but once you're getting over 5,000 picks and your still hitting 60% you may be on to something.
22/33,000 doesn't really matter, it's all relative (especially if 25,000/33,000 are losing money. What matters is if you're up or down with the money.
Everything in life is a gamble...even doing nothing! The key is to learn from mistakes and to hopefully recognize certain patterns.

W-T,
I did contact the prize department, please see my comments above.
eag801,
I'm really happy you got your TV. I received my $600 check from the MLB Season pretty quickly too which was great! I just don't know why the jacket from the NFL Preseason is taking so long. But I did get the same email about the picture and they didn't put me up either which I'm fine with. I was looking for you and a couple of the others from the baseball contest but no luck. I don't think they change them very often.

It's been over 9 weeks and still no jacket. I received an email from the prize department on November 2nd and they said I'd receive it within the next week, but I still don't have it. What gives???||thumbs_down.gif' border=0>

Yes, and on the wagerline.com home page I was the Top Capper by like $15,000 for the longest time and then somehow today I'm in 2nd place behind jsh73. That would suggest he won over $15,000 today and that's not the case from what I can see.
JohnBoy224,
In regards to your question I think I know what you're saying but I think the Top Overall Capper resets every year. When you click on your username you'll see to the right of your RSI a pull down menu that defaults to All Sports. Select each sport and click go and add up your totals for just the 2007 or 2007-2008 seasons and that should give you whatever it says your total units is. At least it does for me. Hope this helps.

I haven't received mine either. Apparently some guy won money from the WNBA Contest and got his check already. I think the WNBA season ended on Sept 16th so I would hope we would get our jackets soon.

I wanted the $600. Speaking of which I haven't received a prize notification email from wagerline yet, have you? Congrats on your TV!

Very cool, I was just wondering. I don't pretend to know how to bet any other sports other than baseball. I can't even pick O/U's in baseball to save my life. I did however get lucky and win a jacket in the NFL Preseason Contest. I just had my first kid about a month ago so no time for the NFL Regular Season!
