Really need impartial opinion on bet me and a friend made before NFL season.
in NFL Betting No ones fault, but a poorly phrased bet. If your friend is arguing QB v QB for a superbowl win then IMHO the QB needs to be starting/playing in the superbowl. Just recieving a SB ring as a team participant is more of a technicality and you and your friend should have specified possible scenarios pre-flop. As you said with Smith being a back-up for Brady, you and your frind started to argue about the terms. Even if the money is not an issue - it doesn't sound like it is a bet you should try and enforce with your friend. Whatever arrangement you and your friend reach- I am confident that even if the 49ers don't in the superbowl this year, you still still will win because Romo is not winning a superbowl!!! |

I put $600 on Baltimore at 15-1 in Vegas in July... How do I hedge properly?
in NFL Betting I am in a similiar situation. I am hoping the 49ers ML climbs a bit higher as people back Ravens. The -170 is not very enticing to me. I was also thinking of watching the in the run lines. If Baltimore take a 7 - 10 point lead, should get over +120 for 49ers or maybe a +3.5 line (could win both with the line). Obvious issue for this is it relies on the ravens to get that lead in the first place. I am seeing +125 for 49ers to be winning at HT and FT - i might take this option. If the ravens are leading at HT, i lose this bet but will be able to take San Fran at better odds as per above. Issue with this is if scores are tied at HT the HT/FT bet is lost. We still have 12 days to decide the best course of action. GL

At -4 at a neutral venue, I would think the line would be at around -6.5 to -7 if at San Fran. If i was capping the game I would put 49ers at about -3.5 for a home game. Thus the +4 for Ravens at a neutral looks value to me.
I have futures on Ravens so i want the 49ers money line to climb a bit so i can hedge, it is stressing me out. Either way I think will be good match up and a great game.

Hi, looking for some advice an hedging my superbowl futures bets. Have placed a few bets on Baltimore to win the superbowl during the season. At the moment looking at a return of about 50 units. I was hoping the line for San Fran would open at around -135 to -125, then would put around 15 units on that. After it open -i am seeing it at -180, so would have to risk 21 units to get back about 10. Whilst it would still guarantee a profit - i don't really like taking these odds - not sure if the risk/benefit is worth it. Was also thinking to maybe bet on the game in the run. If the Ravens get a 7 to 10 point lead, i could take San Fran at better value - although this is more of a gamble than a hedge as would have to hope tht Ravens get that lead. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome and appreciated.
