The casino downtown had a sportsbook in it. Kind of by Carlos and Charlies area. We were walking distance to the al hambra casino which did not have one. The one thing that sucked about the al hambra is they close at like 3 am and we were on a roll on a hot craps table. Was absolutely beautiful, the people almost all spoke English, and the drinks and food outside the resort was surprisingly reasonable. One warning if you go: It was always breezy and you get kind of fooled by how hot it actually is. Stay on top of the sunscreen re-applying or you will burn quickly.

I don't smoke but plenty of people who do make under $250,000. Smokes went up in my area about 80 cents a pack. That was one example. Also MN sales tax rose by .375% on July 1st. These are just two examples. Remember "not any of your taxes" and "not one dime". |

A guy walks into the bar and orders a drink. Just then he hears the most beautiful piano playing he has ever heard. There appears to be noone playing until he looks closer and sees a little one foot tall man tickling the ivories. he asks the bartender "where did you get this guy he's unbelievable?" the bartender responds "i guess I wished for him" "what do you mean" the guy asked. The bartender points to a vase and says "I rubbed this vase and a genie came out and bam! this guy shows up. I have two wishes left but I think the old genie is a hard of hearing. Do you want to give it a try?" The man says "hell yes I will."
He rubs the vase and POOF a genie appears and asks "what wish can I grant you?" The guy says "I want a million bucks." The old genie says "what?" The guy repeats his request and the genie says "huh?" So the guy says loudly "I WANT A MILLION BUCKS." POOF the bar is packed full with a million ducks. The guy grabs the the bartender and screams "I ASKED FOR A MILLION BUCKS NOT DUCKS" The bartender yells back "I warned you the old genie was hard of hearing. You think I asked for a twelve inch pianist?"

How funny that DJ thinks the congress should be in control of how much executives are making. Certainly the same people who have not taken pay cuts for their piss-poor performance (congress) should decide what execs will be paid.
Is it ironic to anyone else that these dipshits are making a stink about how these guys bankrupted their once private companies, yet through their horseshit legislation they have bankrupted this country and none of them are resigning or taking pay cuts?

Much respect to you cd329 for still having the ability to think for yourself. Too many Obama supporters have this unconditional love for him and can't take their blinders off and see how harmful some of these new policies can be. Doubt McCain would have been much better but it's time to clean house of all these career politicians in the mid-term elections. Let's hope for some viable Libertarian/third party candidates or at least some candidates that are not part of the career politician crowd. Ideally I would like to see some successful people who've made it in the private sector no matter their political label. It seems we have too many career politicians/lawyers in congress.

Here's how I see it:
Started with cop called to scene of potential crime. Asks for ID of man in his own home. Gates has a huge chip on his shoulder towards whitey and acts direspectful and can't believe this knuckle dragging officer with MUCH less education has the nerve to speak to him the way he was. Then Officer's ego kicks in and then the shit gets blown way out of proportion. Turns into two knuckleheads with too much pride and an inflated worth of who each thinks he is.
Enter the media which sensationalizes this incident into some sort of giant race issue. The liberal media has headlines like "Harvard Scholar Arrested In His Own Home". Enter right wingers claiming reverse racism. Then Obama weighs in and issue turns into everyone's top story.
I feel that this should have been about a two minute friendly conversation between an investigating officer and a homeowner who should have been thankful that a cop showed up to ensure his property was being watched over. I believe Gates instigated the race talk and escalated the situation due to his huge chip on his shoulder. Crowley with his experience should have de-escalated and gotten out of there after giving his name and badge #, knowing he had done nothing wrong. I think both guys let their egos get the better of them and look at the shit storm they created. Obama should have kept his mouth shut until he knew what he was talking about.

Here's a quote from Figueroa, the second cop on the scene:
Patrolman Carlos Figueroa says he and Sgt. James Crowley were investigating a report of a burglary at Gates' home near Harvard University, and they needed to be sure everyone was in the house legally. He said that's why Crowley asked Gates for his identification. Figueroa said Gates shouted "No, I will not!" He also says Gates was shouting at Crowley, calling him a racist and saying, "This is what happens to black men in America!" My opinion: An elitist Harverd professor who clearly has a chip on his shoulder and was probably in a bad mood after having problems getting into his new home.Enter a white cop who is doing his job. Remember he was dispatched to the address because Gates' neighbor called reporting a break-in. Out comes the race card when Gates is asked for his ID.
Figueroa's story, if true, clearly shows who brought race into this issue. Gates' story is far different. He makes himself out to be the victim who was being bullied and acted in a calm and rational manner. I imagine the truth is somewhere in the middle but I would bet that Gates is the one who escalated the confrontation.

She is so ignorant that she has no idea why the man was offended. She was basically saying " look, these other black folks support this, so that means all of YOU PEOPLE should". If one of these good ol' boy senators from the south said that it would have been all over MSNBC.

Good decision. I am on the road quite a bit and I cut fast food, pop, desserts, chips, and late night happy hours out of my diet. My blood pressure was way high 144 over 107 and was told I needed to get on medication. I have dropped about fifteen pounds, and dropped my blood pressure 20 points top and bottom number in under two months by just eating right and continuing my excercise routine. Really don't miss it (other than pizzas and chips). Been grilling a lot of chicken and eating way more green vegetables and fruit. If you can do it, you will feel a lot better and more energetic in a couple weeks. Good luck.

Ellis Island $5.99 for a ten ounce steak, all the fixin's and a micro brew. Not on the menu but it is served 24/7 just ask. Great steak too.
Last time I was there in January the Plaza (which is shitty) had $2.00 Crown drinks and $2.00 beers bottles all over the Fremont street casinos. Fremont casino had $2.00 Heinekens.
Good, not great, buffets at Main Street Station and Fremont downtown also for under $10.
If you are into sushi try Todai lunch for $19.99 all you can eat plus you can find $5.00 off coupons all over the place.
For a show we went to see Bobby Slayton at Hooters. Sign up for a players card and get a free show ticket ($36.99 otherwise). Great show and all you have to do is buy one overpriced drink (around $8.00).
Hope that helped.
