Glad to see ya on these two, as I've riding your 'tails for awhile now. Even played UCLA +2380 in futures a day before brackets announced thanks to your support of Bruins. Price went to +1450 after brackets came out, and of course are +330 or so now, so if it hits, I have you to thank for the early heads-up.
Stay en fuego, bgk!||an_clap.gif' border=0>

My Bettting Manifesto - long winded theory on sportsgambling.....

VanZack This is a great thread, and I agreewith what you are saying, and with the help you are trying to provide . I didn't mean to come off as argumentative, and if I did, I apologize.
I know that you, me, and several on board here DO make a living at this, and your teachings can be very beneficial.
Juice is what makes the game unbeatable for the masses, and the grease that moves the big wheel of the industry.
There are three groups that make money off of sports betting:
1) Offshore Sportsbooks/casinos/local books
2) Touts or pay services
3) Sports bettors ( though it is probably around 1-2 % of those who make sports bets)
By reducing the amount of juice involved, it is just practicing good business tactic of watching the bottom line, or the cost of doing business. Your argument on the topic is ROCK SOLID!
But I suspect that handicapping is a skill that CAN improve over time, there are many that will never master that critical aspect of betting.
Personally, I have gambled for 27 years, and lost money in most of the first 21-22 years, and only in the last 5-6 years have I turned a yearly profit. I attribute it to experience, and most of it the hard way, i.e. losing my ASS several times. I cannot stress enough how important that disciplined play (not chasing after a loss, betting just because its on TV, betting because it is the only game available to bet on, betting on morning games and waiting to see how you do before playing later games) combined with money management-----(setting a limit, not chasing, having a plan, etc.) and regulating juice risked is the key to any real financial gain.
Good thread VZ||cool.gif' border=0>

Good stuff, VZ
Trouble is, the # of people hitting 55-60% is in the definite minority. You are correct with your model in limiting the juice, but unless one hits 52.7% ( based on 10% juice) on all same-size straight wagers, they will lose $$$.
I submit that 1) Money management and 2) Discipline ( not necessarily in that order either) are the two keys in this game. I theorize that among active players, or those who gamble two or more days a week in sports gambling, that only 5-10% have a 55% or better win-loss ratio.
So the management and discipline aspects are paramount to not getting wiped out. If one chooses to use the entire "bankroll" on one play, they have either successfully doubled up, or lost their entire "investment" in one shot. I think most sports bettors prefer the daily grind and rollercoasterride over the Multi-unit plays.
Congrats to you for being successful in both the capping and $$ mgmt side of the industry. You are most certainly in the minority, but your advice on how you make it happen is appreciated.
SInce there are invitable streaks, both hot and cold, the discipline and mgmt. are the only way to achieve long-term success, and at 55% +, there is no ecuse NOT to make $$$.

I hadn't seen this thread before, but I have to say..........
I LOVE IT!
I saw that cocksucker on Stephen A Smith's show proclaiming himself the best point guard in the league, and also stating he could get 30 a night at the 2.
What a load of jizz that wannabe is.
Keep up the good fight, Vasilios--somebody had to say it.
