Hawaii is this years smoke screen special. That 12-0 record would be 7-5 if they played in a power conference, if that.
They can't expect to compete with a SEC team that gets some of the best prospects year in and year out. I know this is a hugely biased HAW thread, with the natives chiming in, but take this season for what it was: a nice run through a relatively soft schedule. Good stories have to end as well.
Now do you all understand why they were never ranked higher than 12th? that stout Hawaii D went against a bunch of teams that were on vacation when they played on the island this year. More smoke...
At least Boise beat a powerhouse last year...

Hawkeye, Happy B-day from West Dundee.
Your Birthday wish is good enogh for me in a coin flip game. Take the home team, when all else fails. And the over, just for good measure. Collins may surprise, and Eli can play every now and then.
Giants 26-17.

Like the under in the second half? I love people who state the obvious...
Great insight.

The D's are gonna have to score the pts in this game, cause these shit offenses are just plain offensive, with or without the starting QB's.
This would have been a perfect game to change the schedule, and hide on sunday afternoon. Crap!!!

Sorry, meant to say Campbell, not Taylor. Slip of the fingers there. All the talk of Taylor and all. My bad. RIP Sean. You won't be forgotten...

Taylor hurt for sure, now. One of the most boring games I have ever seen. At least the Steelers/Dolphins game had rain as an excuse. These two teams just suck ass! You people without the NFL netowrk, feel blessed. I'm in Chicago, and have to watch it... Hope the Bears at least cover, I'll break even at least. Both teams are a POS, and I'm a Bear fan... |

I can appreciate being a fan on this one, BigD and Maui Waui, but even you guys have to admit two things..
Boise is a more balanced team, better equipped to control the tempo of the game, they would be favored by 9 or 10 if in Boise, and,
There are approx. 20 teams around the country that could, and would, beat the Warriors 7 of 10 times they played.
I agree that teams duck them, but that doesn't make Hawaii better than those teams. It means those teams have their hands full with their conference schedules, and need to prepare for those games. That is not accomplished by playing a team that plays a constant 7 on 7 passing drill brand of offense. Especially early in the year.
They are fun to watch, and I like the team, to be perfectly honest. But until they change their brand of ball from a two hand touch kind of ball to at least something that resembles a balanced kind of game plan, teams will continue to say, "no thanks".
With that, I love the under tomorrow night. Boise will do all it can to limit the time Colt has the ball.
KEEP UP THE GREAT POSTS BIGD, AND HOPE EVERYONE HAD A FRUITFUL TURKEY DAY!

I have to agree that they are begging us to take the under. My line has jumped to 72 as well. I think, for no other reason than the line is fuked up, I'm gonna buck the trend (as I did reluctantly last week) and take the over. Small play, but have to play it. Probably leaning on Toledo as well, as my thought here is that BSU may be more turnover prone as a passing team, and Toledo can control the flow of the game with their stong running game. At least there will be more opportunities for turnovers from the passing team, with sacks and fumbles and INT possibilities.
Good luck all, and again, hate to buck the under trend, but these two teams wreak of a 44-41 game.

Another good night. Had this straight and in a small 3 team par with BG and the over in that game. Besides the WV game yesterday, does it seem like this week has just been a bit too easy to pick? I only say that cause I, like probably many of you, am hot as shit the past week and a half.
It's nice when you're not treading water or worse...Got to take these streaks when you can get them. I never change my betting patterns on a hot streak though, as it's the kiss of death many times when you try to get greedy. The gods will only give you so much...
Look forward to reading up on everyone's thoughts on the early games for tomorrow. Any quick picks???

Thanks to Teabaggins for setting rusty straight. Nothing worse than false data...
And Gator, I think you made a great point about style pts and getting close to the end for BCS consideration.
WV and the over tonight seems to be the best play.

Unreal. Push on the side and cover the over. What a friggin finish...Next week it's back to the Tuesday Night Special. BigD, told ya you might be better off without the total. Sometimes we all need a bit of good fortune sometimes. I know you would have went big on the under, so good for you.
Sorry for all you under players. It's a long week, there's still plenty of time to get it back. I would imagine most of you got CMU at -2.5, so you covered that one...

You know what BigD, it may be a blessing that your book had no O/U. I am a big believer in the Tues Night Special, but these two teams are hardly a formula for the under.
Two leaky D's, two teams that like to throw, lots of sideline plays=lots of clock stoppages. The weather is fine for the moment.
Gonna go against the trend tonight with the over, and CMU, of course.
Good luck all.

How can all of you take hawaii against a QB like Holbrook? 30 is way too rich. Just can't bet a total that is over 75. Too many things have to happen to ge there. There will be a few drive killing turnovers deep in enemy territory, and that will be enough to keep this game under. I'm not taking it, Just NMSU. Way too may people here on Hawaii. Sorry Big D, it's just too many pts for a turnover prone team.
And that guys home dog formula failed miserably today. What a yutz...

I'd like to see the moron who posted all these home dog picks last night before the Boise game. He claimed they were 19-2 or some kind of crap. Post the proof. Among the home dogs falling on their ass thus far: Fresno, Rutgers, Kent, Utah St just to name a few. Glad I stayed with my gut on Boise and WVU. The point is, there are only a few credible people on here you should take stock in. The rest are a bunch of hacks. Make up your own mind... |

BigDaddy, luv your bankroll advice, and love all the "core" guys input. All were very helpful to a plus year last year. Hope we're all fortunate enough to tread water and have some fun again this year.
That being saud, love the over in the WV game tonight, as WV has no D, but can score on anyone on any given play. I don't expect that they will start again as slowly as last week, as MD has their attn. Don't like a side either way, as 17 is a great # for the bookies for this game. Do, however, love TCU. Air Force too one dimensional, and TCU gets their horse, or should I say frog, back tonight...
good luck all, and it's good to be back reading all of your very good imput.

I agree this is a great matchup, but the 7 pts is just out there to get equal plays on each team, and not an indication that the Colts are 7 pts better than the Bears on a nuetral site. That has to be taken into account. The Colts definately struggled down the stretch of the regualr season, as did the Bears, but the Colts did it with more on the line. The Bears had to scale their offense back, as to not show too much for the playoffs, while the Colts had to continue to win. I agree also that the AFC was dominant this year, but throw that out the window for these two teams. They are pretty evenly matched, and know each other more than one might expect. Lovie and Tony are close, and paid close attention to each other games all year. Niether team will run this game up on the other due to the respect each has for each other.
Take the 7, and possible 7.5 and ride the grizzly bears. I'll take the money line on the bears as a fan, but taking the points is all about business.
I can't wait to start talking about the props in this game. Screw the coin flip. Bet something that you have a reasonable amount of input on.
anyway, we're already on our way with a great post here. Since I'm not a big hoops player, I'll certainly miss this for the next 9 months.

And Phancard, I enjoy your posts, and respect them. With all due respect, the Saints didn't give the ball away, the Bears took it from them, as they did all year. There is a point when what people perceive as fluke becomes trend, and 18 games ought to be enough to earn some respect for what the Bears are, an outstanding defensive and special teams club that can score with anyone, especially against the Colts D that can be had.

The field conditions yesterday were just fine. There was very little the field had to do with this. Even the Saints said as much. The Pats are not a fast team, by any means (Ok Maroney can run).
I just really think the multiple matchups favor the Bears. No, I know they do.
Again, I will continue to wait for a good argument against just that point (see my earlier post). We have the better part of two weeks. And I have nothing if not an open mind.

Even though I'm also a huge fan, it really doesn't take that to figure this one out. The line is dead wrong in this one. I can only imagine how huge everyone was on the Saints yesterday. they betting public is rarely correct, and that's another reason I'll put my money where the Bears are...
Until this year, I bet the vast majority on favorites and overs. Taking the dogs and unders for the most part paid huge dividends this year, along with a bit of common sense. Dont get me wrong, I took the Bears Colts, bears over yeasterday to have a huge day, but most people live with the favorites and overs, and lose their ass in the process.
I will be staying away from the total in this game, as there a too many fun props to bet on the SB, but it's the Bears all the way. Manning will get his chances, especially as Addia grows with this team, this one will be wasted.

Thanks Danny. Appreciate the kind words. I thought about that after I read your post, but I don't think our posters play is gonna move the line. The public still love the favorite, even if the favorite is on the wrong side this time.
Plus, some of these guys have helped win me some coin this year, so if I can return the favor, I'm all for it...
