I deposited the check at my credit union today. No problems. I called just to make sure the funds were available and they were.
I think everything's cool now. |

My check was in my mailbox today delivered by DHL. It was drawn on United Overseas Bank in Singapore, and there was an unsigned note with the envelope that says the following:
"TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Dear Sir/Madam, This draft has been issued by United Overseas Bank Limited, Singapore. Kindly note this cheque cannot be cashed, It can only be deposited into payee's own bank account. Thank you." So it sounds like this is a crossed check (a check that can't be cashed over the counter), but this check doesn't have the two diagonal lines across the middle that usually characterize crossed checks. So I'm wondering if it really is. The check also says "Bank of America N.A." on it. Does that mean anything? Thanks for your help so far, everyone. :) |

I checked tracking number, and my package (with the check) is in Hong Kong right now, having left Singapore earlier today. It will be more than ten business days before I get my check, I suspect. Prolly about three weeks total.
I'm starting to wonder how to get it in my account once I get it. I'm getting paranoid about bank tellers and what not asking what the check is for. Ugh! I wish there was an easier way to do this. |

I never deposit any kind of check via an ATM. It takes longer to post that way, and maybe I'm paranoid, but there's always a chance a check could get lost when it and other deposits are removed from the ATM every day. So I've always cashed the check at the bank it's drawn on and then gone to my bank to deposit the cash. I know it may sound like a hassle, but cash doesn't bounce and it is available instantly.
So with all that said, why would a book suggest using an ATM to deposit over depositing it in person? |

I made my withdrawal request on Nov. 20 and got an email saying the request would take about 10 business days. Today I got another email with a DHL tracking number, so I'm guessing the check just went out today.
I'm starting to worry if the check will be good. And even if it's legit, I'mwondering if the bank I deposit it in will accept it. I've cashed out once before from Sportsbook back in '06 and didn't have a problem. That was for about $150. This one's for $400. I must say I've had a good experience with Bovada so far. Customer Service has helped with a few issues, and I've had little trouble making deposits, so so far so good. Maybe I'm worried about nothing. |

Where can you purchase Visa gift cards for international use?
in Gaming Industry - US
Is it possible? Do such cards exist? Are there any that won't be blocked when you try to use them to fund a sportsbook account?
And if Visa is out of the question, what other safe methods are there to fund a sportsbook account? |

I think I'm going to go with Bovada. The 4.9% deposit fee was a surprise, but from what I'm hearing here, the process of getting a check for your winnings has been sped up a lot, so that's cool.
I do have one question: They seemed to recommend depositing the check via an ATM. I've always been leary of doing that because it's taken forever for checks I've deposited that way to post. So I usually cash the check and if I'm going to bank any of it, I'll deposit the cash. |

Let me add some more detail.
I'm going to be a low stakes bettor at first, probably withdrawing less than $500 at a time. It seems like I'll have to pay some kind of fee to get my winnings. If this is true, what site is the most reliable and offers the fastest, safest, and most inexpensive way to get my winnings? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Hoping some of the vets can help out a newbie.
I'm perusing a few sportsbook options, looking for the safest and most reliable. 5bets seems to be the highest rated. What books would you peeps recommend? Second, what is the safest, quickest, and most inexpensive method to receive payouts? Will a US bank accept checks from a sportsbook? Thanks for your help. :) |

Rangers are due, have only scored four runs in this series. But Nova and Holland met last year and Yanks won 12-4.
I take Yankees for the sweep, but under 9.5 |

By the way, I'm a Browns fan, and years ago there was a joke that went as follows:
Q. Why doesn't Art Modell flush the toilet after he takes a dump? A. Because that's the only way he'll see the Browns in the Super Bowl.
