Time To Fire Disco Dan Bylsma???
I'll chime in. I do like him, actually really like him. The only series that I have really been pissed off about was the Flyer series, as I thought he completely lost control of his team. Tampa we did well to compete with who we had and probably didn't deserve to be up 3-1, Montreal series Halak was sensational, the Philly series last year that was a debacle.
I think he has done well this year, especially with the injuries during the regular season. The whole sticking with Fleury thing, well perhaps I am a sucker as I too thought he would regain some of his magic from our Cup runs, but I think he has lost all confidence and a fresh start might be what the doctor ordered.
I was one that was excited about the deadline moves and as I spoke to many co-workers, to me getting Iginla was not so much about the Pens getting him, as the Bruins not getting him. Murray has been okay at best and Morrow has done nothing in the playoffs. I wonder in hindsight, if Ray should have not tinkered with this squad the way he did. Easy to say when times are tough.
Is part of this thread though, maybe not that the Penguins are that bad, but not giving enough respect to the Bruins. Granted their finish to the season, was nothing to write home about but boy they have looked very solid since squeaking by the Leafs. Rask no more needs to be said there, but their D, has been tremendous in the series against the Penguins.
Make no bones about it, the Bruins are well deserved to be leading this series, but people harping on the Pens being terrible, I do not get it. Their Game 2 was a debacle, but they were just fine for two periods in game one and I thought they played very well last night. I thought their D, was great last night and I am not sure I have ever seen Engelland play a better game. There was no shortage of posts last night hit by the Pens and that is just the way the puck bounces sometimes.
In conclusion, I would keep him for one more run PB, but keep in mind I am not some hockey aficionado. I do think that Shero, is equally as guilty in not living up to expectations.
Lastly, for the fanatics coming here piping about the Bruins being the best ever, I hope you backed it up with your wallet, before these playoffs started, as then your credibility will be rewarded in your wallet, instead of your ego.
