NJD +1.5 goals -135
MON/DET OVER 5 GOALS -130 CLB/FLA OVER 5 GOALS +115 New Jersey and Pittsburgh both played last night, on no rest NJ is 3-0 ATS & after a loss on no rest they are 2-0 S/U; meanwhile Pittsburgh is 0-3 ATS on no rest. Both haven't seen an over hit on no rest and while I admit what goes up must come down, I don't see that happening tonight- NJ had back to back overs hit so I see this a lie scoring, one goal game and I think the juice is begging bettors to not see the penguins GL as a long shot. the Montreal game has me thinking that if mrazek gave up 4 goals to the devils then he'll give up 5 to Montreal, I also see Detroit squeaking one by at the very least, because on the road Montreal is giving up nearly 3.5 goals. I also like Montreal to win this game, they're 8-1 on one day of rest, the over is also 5-3 for Montreal on one day of rest. Now the blue jackets, part of me thinks I'm gonna bite my tongue on this one but my gut says over 5.5 goals in this one. there are some slight statistical edges I could use to make my case, both teams can score, the experts are on the under and yadayada but it comes down to a gut feeling I will probably regret. BOL Season / yesterday: 1-0

DET/NJD OVER 5 goals +110
New Jersey is a different team at home averaging 3 goals and 3.75 as the favorite, while also allowing 2.1 and 2.75 - respectively in both scenarios. Detroit is giving up over 2.5 goals on the road, as the underdog, & in their last 10 games. Though Detroit averages less than 2 goals on the road as well as in their last 10 games...this game will probably end up a push, but with 64% of bets coming in on the under and the juice on the under decreasing, I think it's worth the gamble to take the over. Ok, so my lean tonight is Houston +10.5 and over, i call it a lean but unless there is some crazy double reverse line movement that is my wager. along with over for vancouver and over for st louis (nhl) and over in georgia tech (ncaab). that being said i'm pretty wrapped up in my fantasy match up this week, as i'm trying to make the playoffs. if you don't care about my fantasy conundrum then let it be known that from here on out in my post i'm strictly talking about fantasy football. either way Best of Luck to everyone.
When I was 10 I wrote a letter to Shaq letting him know that as far as this 10 year old dork was concerned he was just about the greatest thing to happen to basketball since they invented the hoop. His transition game from sports superstar to all powerful genie was beyond impressive to my little brain and he could do no wrong. I felt the same way about the Houston D heading into this years fantasy draft. When it was time to pick a defense I pounced on them and they were mine. Afterwards I strutted my team around like a Westminster poodle, letting my league know that sure, this is a really good looking team I’ve got right here, BUT they’re going to rip you to shreds when the time comes for our match up. And you better believe J.J. Watt and Co. are gonna get the job done, week after week! Forced fumbles for TDs! More sacks than the sauna at the YMCA! Pick Six! Another Pick Six! Then crickets. Crickets for as far as the ear can hear. It’s week 10 and I’m still that 10 year old dork. Not the 10 year old who wrote to Shaq, I’m the 10 year old who got a letter back from Shaq. His letter (if you will) was a 4.25 x 11 glossy photo of him ripping down a monster slam that you would have wasted all 3 wishes to be able to do yourself. And at the bottom of the “letter” was a heartfelt thank you and an autograph. Now, I hadn’t had much experience in handwriting forensics at that point, but even at 10 I knew he didn’t sign it and he probably wasn’t even the one who hit print on the signature. I know sports stars are super busy, and sometimes they have to phone in on things like fan correspondence to dorky 10 year olds in NJ. To be clear I don’t hold it against Shaq, it’s how things are, and what’s not to love about the guy? But come on, the letter wasn’t even on a full sheet of paper! Now those feelings are coming back up again. 25.6! Twenty Five point Six! No, that’s not the almost marathon that I ran, that’s the points per game the Houston Defense is giving up. What’s worse is they’ve actually cost me points (see Week 4) and they layed me an egg (see Week 5). 25.6 is not elite and not what I expected to get back from the team I so arrogantly paraded around the message board, like a Macy’s Day float. But, to my own fault, I continued to believe in them. Week after week I started them, “It’s only a matter of time until they wake up,” I told myself. But you know what? They just haven’t gotten out of bed yet. Then I caught a break, in Week 9 Houston got their bye and the tears dried up long enough for me to take a look around to see who was available. What did my sad little eyes see? Cincinnati! Just sitting there in all their free agent glory! How could I have let this slip under the radar? An undefeated team, with a defense that gets the job done? I didn’t know such a thing existed! I had been in an abusive relationship with J.J. Watt for the last 2 months, praying that each Sunday instead of beating me up he’d take it out on someone else. Finally I saw an opportunity to get out, to pack my bags and finally be free… But today it’s Monday, Week 10 is coming to an end, I trail in my match up by 39 points and here I sit with a conundrum. I currently own Cincinnati AND Houston, because even though I’ve been covering up my black eyes for 9 weeks I still love them and couldn’t let them go completely. So I ponder this, does Houston show up tonight? They’re coming off a bye and get a primetime crack at undefeated Bengals team. And if they do show up, how much will they impact my TE and Flex, Tyler Eifert and Giovanni Bernard? I’m left with a question as old as time itself, which I think began sometime around the onset of the 2015 NFL season, “Start or sit the Houston Defense?” Admittedly, after 2 terrible weeks (4 & 5) they showed up with a box of chocolates, a dozen roses, and an apology in the form of 16 Fantasy points. Will Cincinnati’s streak come to an end? Can I expect a similar apology tonight? Will the apology come in the form of shutting down the players I so desperately need to win? I could really use a magic boom box right about now. |

Love the pacers tonight, rvl always a nice edge. Also, i have a theory that even with a team like Philly(likely tanking another season) that's it's worth a Martingale to take them on the ml until they win. Not to mention that tonight they play a great team and so far this year they've come close/closer to winning against a team like Cleveland than they did against a team like Boston. I don't know, I could be too stoned right now and talking like a fool but I think it's worth it, especially if the night it hits is a night with a large spread. anyhow best of luck phixer, and everyone else, let's crush some books. I'm on pacers -4.5 and hoping I'm not gonna kick myself later for not taking the 76ers...

Phew, looks like I'm saved by the bell.................maybe I'll get a nice line on a live in-game...........
also, totally agree with you (phixer) on the clips taking over for the fakers. Between the talent they have and the need for l.a. to justify the subsidy of staples center the clips will go far for years to come.

The degenerate in me says take rockets 2h. I'm on them for the game and they lost for me in the 1h, but I went 1-3 in nhl tonight and hit on cavs 1h and game, lost 2h over in cavs game, yet that little degenerate in the back of my brain says, "no way rockets lose".but always such clever lines the 2h ones are. all I can hope is that this post takes enough time to write that I miss the closing bell and avoid shooting myself in the foot more than I already have. ..

I imagine the jets keep giving up points, because they're the jets, and
the giants find a way to lose, because they're the giants, so:
jets over 21 - 1 unit giants over 21 - 1 unit parlayed them - .66 unit |

i'm leaning over 5.5, to spite pit's injuries. pit's offense creates a lot of defense, so i see ott potentially scoring 3 however i think the penguins keep pace. my gut says 3-3 at the end of regulation, but can totally see ott walking away with the win.
