This is such an unsophisticated thread. Had Bradley done anything this game, including not control possession and get pushed off the ball with 30 seconds left...
Watch the game again. You want to blame someone, blame that clown. Why he starts is a mystery.

Has anyone here been to Gamblers Anonymous and if so, how did it or did it not help?
in General Discussion
Gambling is an easier ill to cure in that it is a mental addiction and not a physical one. If you think GA is necessary then by all means, try it out. However, you can quit by simply finding other ways to occupy your time and by firing your bookie or closing your account, whichever you are doing.

Saban played like he wasn't expected to win. A bunch of bad decisions that you would expect to see from a team going for the huge upset.

That said, I am playing money line. Don't want some on a backdoor cover.

Buffalo should ground and pound and win by at least 10. Much better all-around team. Your analysis discounts Ohio's loss to Louisville, and yet you criticize Buffalo for a bad loss to a much better Ohio State team.
Tettleton has not had a blindside threat like Mack. He will be uncomfortable and will have a dreadful game, especially when Buffalo will control the ball, the clock and the line of scrimmage on both sides. That is my take. We will see. Good luck. |

I like the bet but typically I abhor prop plays. Too many times was I in a great position only to be thwarted by a late-season injury, a bad call or my coach resting players.
That said, the logic is sound. |

A rematch will not be any better result from Chavez. He did not "start slow." Martinez was too fast and skilled for him and it was not until the 38-year old, who threw almost 1000 punches, got tired that he got caught. Even then Chavez could not finish him.
A rematch just means Martinez will throw less punches and conserve his energy more. He will still win a lopsided decision. |

I am curious where you placed all this action. I was in Vegas and actually went to the fight. The odds ranged wildly from casino to casino. I saw as high as 240 and as low as 200.
I placed 4K to win 2K at the Rio and supervisor approval was needed. When I was betting NFL, supervisor approval was needed on plays as small as 1K and when I cashed some winning tickets, it was big drama. I don't know if I was at square books or what. Where can you play this type of action with no hassles? I know the MGM allows up to 30K I believe. Thanks. |

I have been watching the HBO hype on this fight. I re-watched Chavez-Lee and Martinez-Pavlik. Chavez comes straight in with no jab, and the only time he throws his left is a hook. Martinez picked this up on 24/7.
Pavlik is stronger than Chavez (and a better fighter) and did little damage to Martinez. Martinez will not walk straight back with a claw defense like Andy Lee did. He will give Chavez a lot of problems with angles and movement. Also, I have to think Chavez is taking this fight somewhat lightly with his nocturnal schedule, poor training habits and refusal to watch fight film. Unless I have completely lost my mind and/or am getting caught up in a lot of propaganda, I see this being a close fight for the first 4-5 rounds, and I then see Martinez dominating this fight with superior conditioning and ring generalship. Another point that I think is really important. Martinez said that it is a "disgrace to boxing that Junior is champion." That goes beyond trash-talking. Martinez truly believes that Chavez' skills are limited. He would never say that if he truly thought there was a chance he would lose. How humiliating would it be if he lost to a "disgrace?" I see Chavez fading mid-late rounds, with a TKO to follow 7th-10th round. We will see. Good luck. |

Press conference, not weigh-in.

Chavez is going to get harder than ever before and will get hit at unfamiliar angles from the southside puncher. He will come straight forward with a lazy guard and will be ripe for a straight left bomb, a la the one that ended the Paul Williams' rematch in the second round.
There is such a difference in the opposition that the two have faced here. That is not to say Chavez cannot pull this off. Martinez does look less confident since his trainer was forced to face charges in Spain, but there is too much of an experience difference here for me. In the weigh-in, Martinez' hands looked much bigger, too, which should mean heavier hands. Martinez by middle-round TKO. Good luck all. |

Everyone on Cal. and the line down to 2.5...hmmm.
Nevada covers this one. Cal. destroyed two bum teams and is overrated. |

I am moving on...and out of gambling. The NFL was the last sport I thought was above corruption. Now, whether there truly was a fix, we'll never know. But either way, I lost a game I should have won due to incompetence. That's enough for me.

Right call. Love how Van states this with such conviction, then wavers and is ultimately proven to be completely wrong. The call was there was an illegal forward pass, which the refs ruled killed the play. That is true if the pass hits the ground. However, in this case, the "forward" pass was complete. At that point, the play stays alive, no different any other penalty, such as the QB being over the line of scrimmage at the time of the throw. Why people still listen to Van kills me. The guy is always wrong on this stuff and acts like such a hardass about it that people are persuaded by his bullshit. |

Yeah, more of what I said above. I watched the game. It was BAD! Oregon-Oklahoma bad. |

So many box newbies here talking about "it you were on SD..." Yeah, if I were on SD, I would say that game looked fixed. Same thing I am saying as a Pitt backer. 13 penalties to 1? FORWARD pass? First off, there was no flag. Second, a review for what...the spread? Third off, there was no forward pass. Where was the CONCLUSIVE evidence of a forward pass? I watched that game live, and in replay, and I had a win....PERIOD! I have been doing this for a long time. I have seen the Boston College, Don King and Tim Donoughy fixes, and some other less publisized, obvious shams. But, I have NEVER felt the fix was in on the NFL...until now. So, I hope Vegas made some money on this one. It is the last dollar they ever get from me. Anyone sucker enough to keep betting this crooked shit, have fun. |
