We do the show every day, I think you heard the college football roundtable discussion on Wednesday (now college hoops roundtable, as the college football season is over), as opposed to 'Wild Card' Tuesdays when we discuss just about anything.
You can still catch the Keith Kizer show in the archives right here:

Congrats to Prez on winning the 50k challenge. Job well done. You earned this, buddy!
That being said, the last three days of this contest really sucked from my perspective. I had the winners right on my radar screen; won for my clients, but couldn't cash here in the challenge.
Thanks to all of you who followed along here in the forums. I hope Prez and I were able to make you some $$ along the way, and I hope you'll keep listening to the radio show throughout the summer and into football season.

"If you saw the EXACT SAME thing happen on Friday with Michigan St (up 20 with 2 minutes left laying 15.5, a missed dunk for the Spartans followed by a runout three for Morgan State, which led to the half point loss), you know it was a similar story -- right side, wrong result."
Of course I meant Robert Morris, not Morgan State. Morgan State got bounced by Oklahoma in the first round.

One of the biggest advantage of a 'put your money where your mouth is' challenge like this one is this -- Since I put up my 25k, I get to pick what games I use.
I'm sorry that some of you don't like that I have been picking more college games than NBA of late, or that I chose one particular game over another specific game. Guess what -- it's my choice as to which games to pick, and I won't apologize for any of my selections. Believe me when I tell you that I'm not looking to pick losers here, folks....
And, as I have written repeatedly in this thread and stated repeatedly on the radio show, any game that I'm betting myself and releasing to my clients is on my 'short list' for inclusion as a contest play on any given day. The actual play that I end up using is generally based on line parameters at Bookmaker.com.
I did not use Arizona State on Friday because of the early start time of that game, tipping off just 1/2 hour after the radio show gets posted at Covers. Any glitch in the production of the show and voila, nobody gets the play in time and people start to bitch about that instead of bitching about what plays I'm choosing to use. Throughout the course of the contest, I have repeatedly used my strongest 'Big Ticket' plays as long as the line parameters at Bookmaker allow me to do so.
After 30 plays, Prez and I are both hitting 60%. I'm pleased with my result thusfar; I'm sure Prez is pleased with his result as well. Anyone and everyone who has been betting our selections has made money from following us, and that's a good thing.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I suffered three consecutive tough, tough beats in college hoops. That doesn't mean that I can't pick college hoops winners at any time for any reason. It just means that my clients and I suffered a couple of tough beats in a row. If you watched the Zags missed dunk/Zips three pointer with a minute left of a 19 point blowout on Thursday that turned into a 13 point final score, you know that Gonzaga was the right side there. Unfortunately, it was a 'right side' half point loser for contest purposes.
If you saw the EXACT SAME thing happen on Friday with Michigan St (up 20 with 2 minutes left laying 15.5, a missed dunk for the Spartans followed by a runout three for Morgan State, which led to the half point loss), you know it was a similar story -- right side, wrong result. Shit happens, that's a part of gambling. I try not to let the tough beats freak me out, and I certainly don't let them affect my confidence level in releasing a play for my clients and I to bet...
That's my two cents. Best of luck tonight and in the future with all of your wagering! And really -- thanks for listening to the show. The positive feedback that the Prez and I have gotten from the radio show is tremendous. I'm glad that so many of you have found it to be both entertaining and useful.
Hope to see a bunch of you fine gentlemen at the Covers Radio Show poker tournament at Bookmaker, Tuesday Night at 9 PM Eastern (6 PM for us West Coast guys).

I check out the thread when I get a chance, Lumpdiddy. Busy time of year, don't cha think? Maybe not for 'Take a Vacation In Mexico At the Start of March Madness' Team Prez, but for me, the last two weeks have been 14 hour day after 14 hour day. In ten days, after the first two weekends of the madness, I'll have alot more time to interact here. Tough loss with NW last down. Down three with the ball and 25 seconds left, the Wildcats proceed to miss every shot (including the front end of a one-and-one) while Tulsa made every free throw. So it goes, looking to get back on the winning track tonight. Good Luck to all, today and throughout the tournament. See you guys at the poker tourney at Bookmaker next Tuesday Night.

I guarantee you, 44 -- this contest will not be decided in March, let alone the first week of March. I've got my work cut out for me; you've got your work cut out for you; same thing for Lump and Prez. We haven't seen one of Prez's legendary hot streaks yet, and I truly expect to see one or two of those over the next six weeks.
One game at a time, gentlemen, one play at a time. Slow and steady wins this race. Nice job Lump and 44 -- you've both gotten off to excellent starts! I wish you nothing but the best of luck in the days and weeks to come!
Hope to see you guys at the Covers Radio poker tournament at Bookmaker on March 18th, should be fun.... |

Prez and I talked about this on the radio show today. For a full discussion of the answer, check out the show.
Brief synopsis: I don't put up a 'free play' every day -- every 'free play' that I post is a play that I've got my own money on; a play worthy of a wager. I didn't have a 'Big Ticket' play last night, so I thought the Cowboys were the appropriate play to use at +8.5.
Good Luck tonight and in the future,
t

Sorry, the above post didn't format correctly. Here is a summary of the line from bookmaker from the opener to the close (Pacific Time):

Each and every day, the line they wind up using is the best possible number based on their selection.
Take, for instance, Teddy's pick tonight on the Cleveland/Houston game where he went under 186.
If you look at the line history you'll see that the line only touched 186 for a split second and only at a couple of selected books.
At the start of the tournament, my plan was to bet on all of their selections as they have great reputations. The problem was EVERY SINGLE TIME I went to place a wager on their selections, I had to buy anywhere from 1/2 to 2 full points to get the line they selected. Since I had no desire to lay as high as -150 to bet on their picks, I decided to pass.
I have accounts at 6 different sportsbooks so its not a matter of not being able to shop for the best number available.
Between the 2, Teddy is far more guilty of using questionable numbers for his picks.
I wonder if they do the same thing concerning the picks they sell which might explain their 60% win rates?
Teddy/Prez, please list the site you use along with the time when coming up with the spreads you select. Since you always get the possible number, I want to open up an account at that site.
Thanks.
Andywend.
There is no nonsense with the pointspreads -- we have very strict parameters. We use one sportsbook and one sportsbook only: Bookmaker dot com, the radio show's sponsor. We use the line at the time that we begin taping the show every single day: 9:45 AM Pacific Time/12:45 PM Eastern Time. There is no fudging. There is no BS. There is no manipulating numbers. It's as straightforward as it gets.
That being said, I've lived in Vegas betting sports full time for the last eleven years and I generally -- not always, but generally -- have a pretty good idea of which way the line is going to move. I ABSOLUTELY use line value as a determining factor of which game I am going to use out of my daily card. So far, so good.
I hope this answers your query. Best of luck tonight and in the future.

Thanks for having my back, Smokey -- I appreciate it. Pimpdaddy, if you and Prez actually put this contest together once me and him are done, I'll be rooting for you :) Best of luck tonight and in the future, guys! |

If Prez and I are seperated by less than 2 games at the end of the contest, we'll play an extra week of 'overtime'. |

Just for clarification, we have a guest handicapper giving a free pick on the show every day. Yesterday, it was Steve Merrill delivering a winner with Memphis-Washington Over 192.5 in the NBA (113-97 final).
Today, Alex Smart was the guest handicapper and he recommended a play on Cleveland -10 at home against Toronto.
Tomorrow, Marc Lawrence will be giving the free play.
Prez and I will start releasing one play every weekday for the 50 plays in 50 days for 50k contest beginning next Monday, February 9th.

If I was scared and hiding, Prez, I wouldn't be betting you 50k in a huge, very public contest. Should be fun and entertaining for all. I look forward to making all of my supporters a few bucks along the way. Goooooood Luck, my friend -- you'll need it. |
