Since there is so much parity this year, it might be time to consider applying the post all-star break criteria of 42 Away and 35 Home.
Teams have passed the 81-game mark, and in reality, are already in the 2nd half. Detroit +38 against TB would qualify for this and there is the possibility of a double-dip since it is a 4-game series. Of course, bending the rules is a matter of your own personal risk appetite. |

BOL That SF loss to Colorado may have been the most painful chase loss I have ever suffered with them blowing 3 late, legitimate leads against a team that this weekend gave up 3-runs on a wild-pitch and tripped jogging to HP that cost them the game. With that out of my system, I was going to play SF on a 3-game chase tonight since the RPI is pretty close to qualifying. The numbers will be coming down in a few weeks anyway. Wow - Getting that whole COL series back tonight takes some stones. Good Luck! |

While Boston's RPI increasing after a loss is a bit counter-intuitive it appears the RPI viewed this as a "good loss" and on the road as well. Boston's SOS jumped as a result of this game which enhances their RPI rating. And the increase was only one one-thousandth. An increase that small is just a statistical quirk. Let's get the A's again tonight!

Thanks to Dan for keeping this thread going.
Hopefully this will be a bounce-back year. Good luck to all. |

Wow - 53-0 (54-0) looks even better than your other chases!
Looking forward to plays moving forward. I would be interested to see the H1-H4 breakdowns. GL! |

Tulane down to -1
That should be back into the play category for those of us online. |

How about Pitt/BYU, ESPNU 7:30/9:30?

Still trying to shake-off that SJ loss last night. That was the dictionary definition of bad-beat. The refs missed what would have been the game winning goal for SJ in OT. Tough to swallow.

bD - I see the Sixers on NBATV, but no national TV for GS.
Is that still a play? |

What about the CLE chase in post #63?
They lost 6 in a row. |

Kudos to all who stuck with Detroit (C) today. It has been a high stress week. CWS were 1-13 coming into the NYY chase and won all 3. Then they go 1-3 vs a terrible Minny team and were poised to sweep the Tigers. That is 2-16 outside of the chase games and they damn near won all 6 of those. Thankfully, Miggy can hit on one leg and Leyland doesn't seem to care.

Hearing about Darvish's near perfect game today made me think - crap - That is a 4-game wrap-around series. Texas should have been another 3-game chase on Saturday (and winner of course). For those tracking, update your records accordingly.

Nice win. Systems have been finding some tough spots lately. SF against Miami a few weeks ago. Miami had won 8 or 9 in a row in SF and ended up taking 3 of 4 even though SF got the C game (In extra friggen' innings). I took Cincy this weekend, they were 1-8 all-time vs Seattle and got the B game win (after being down 3-1), but lost 2 of 3. Texas pulling out a C game the other night trailing 3-1. Chase systems are not for the faint of heart.......

Tough spot here for Cleveland. Detroit is 8-2 against Cle this season and have beat them 7 straight. Det is also on a 5-game win streak themselves and have 13-0 Max Scherzer going tomorrow.

Jeff:
I have tracked your picks since you started posting them on 6-7-13 and have a few observations: 1) Only 9 home teams, but 8-1 with the lone loss with Houston against the streaking Angels. NYY at home tonight. 2) Visiting A games are 6-30 (2-22 last 24). +21.04 units taking the opposite side on Game A. Good luck the rest of the season. |

Sometimes the best bets are the ones that you don't make.....
Great call on pulling off the Yankees. |
