I use to believe in luck and being unlucky. Then I came to the realization I didnt get Moosed, or screwed or I have bad luck-I just picked the wrong team. Or maybe your getting bad lines? The worst thing you can do in gambling is get emotional and think that your small bet is going to have an influence on if some 20 yr old kid from Long beach can make a front end of a 1-1 down 15 when your getting 13.5 with 3 seconds on the clock. When you win be humble, when you loose accept that YOU picked the wrong team and try to pick the right one next time.
GOOD LUCK!!! |

I'm on Missouri to, not trying to be a dick, but this is the perfect spot for missouri to have a close game. Look at the history with missouri in this situation. Either way I agree the books are off n Missouri is too talented, but I will not be surprised at all if OK wins straight up. Homecourt in college basketball in my opinion is the biggest homecourt advantage in all sports. with that said-lets go tigers!!!!!!!

I'm thinking about taking action from friends....is it worth the risk?
in Gaming Industry - US Bill702 is right on. I have been bookin for close friends for the past 2 years. Same situation, no one liked the local, I stepped up. I only have 6-10 players but all of them are good friends, were usually watching the games together. I have not had any problems really. You have to understand people risk more than they can afford, so when someone goes down and cant pay-DONT BE A DICK. Let them know its all good and that if they can give you a small amount to keep moving thats cool. The key is to have friends that are real friends, not randoms trying to fuck you over. ALl of my guys are good friends and wouldn't risk our friendship over a few hundred bucks. Also, when they win, pay out-always, try not to roll figures over. If you don't pay one week then your friend thinks he can rollover when ever they want. Be clear, let your friends know your not a real book, and that you're tired of loosing and just want to take small action to get your own fix. Like I also said, if you're watching the game with your boys dont cheer against them. When you're the book you're siding on the side of the vegas experts that can narrow a game down to a single possession in most cases. If your buddies want to try and outsmart the experts GL to them-but they won't be successful. Last week I got killed from the pats onsaturday, but everyone doubled their wagers and put them on GB straight and teased and that one game made me profitable on the week. Sit back n watch the dough roll in my friend. |

GL Ray Ray!! I'm not too sure how I feel about the Wiz this year. They have potential, but they're so young and inconsistent I would call this a great no play. I also have leans for Orl-sacramento-GS. I will post writeups and picks if I do lock anything else in. Good luck@! |

OK. Don't post much, but I'm on here reading everyday and taking in others opinions. NBA is my favorite, and most profitable sport to wager on. I'm going to try keeping a post going with write ups for all of my NBA plays. Most games are flat bet, 1 unit=50. I hit the Lakers under yesterday but will not count that as I did not post it. On to tonights card... Detroit Pistons @ Indiane Pacers -8 Detroit and Indiana will open up their seasons in Indiana as these division foes look to start strong. Detroit's biggest move was resigning Prince and Stuckey. A big loss for them however was losing Rip Hamilton who was their most consistent scoring threat and a great defender. I'm interested to see how Greg Monroe has progressed over the summer. Indiana is a team a lot of people are expecting to make some noise this season. I feel the Pacers with Hansborough, Hibbert, and new addition David West will really dominate inside and on the glass. Prince will be checking Granger for most of the game which is a good matchup, but I'm looking for Granger to really lead this team now that there will be less pressure for him to have big scoring nights each game. Also, Roy Hibbert may be developing into the best under the radar center in the game. Look for a great matchup at PG with Stuckey and Collison. Stuckey has had some good games vs DC in the past. The real advantage in this game will come to the bench. Indiana has been grooming a lot of young talent for years and this may be the year a lot of them start to come together. With the bench, rebounding advantage and home court I easily can see Indiana winning by 10-15. Notice Rip Hamilton's numbers vs the pacers in years past-he is not there, now there is more pressure on stuckey and prince to score, and Prince is not a pure scorer as rip was. This game should be close early, but look for indy to pull away. another thing to look for is Ben Gordon and his activity level-if he is pouting again this year Detroit could be in for a longer season than expected. INDIANA -8 4.4 units 4 units OKC Thunder -5 @ Timberwolves Man I gotta say that I hate making "square plays" like this but early in the season, in any sport, you can catch the books off. I think this line is low because of OKC playing last night and the travel factors. However, OKC is far too much on the perimeter for Minnesota to handle. Minnesota is strong inside with Kevin Love and Beasley, I'm interested to see what Brad Miller's role is going to be. Either way, Perkins and Ibaka should be able to neutralize Minn on the glass. As all teams, Minnesota will have their hands full with KD. I feel like you will see a lot of beasley and Derrick Williams on KD. Williams may be the best matchup but thats an awful tough assignment for your first game ever. At PG its going to be fun to see if Ricky Rubio can keep up, offensively I think he will be fine but defensively he has a long way to go. Look for Westbrook to really exploit him and create a lot of offense inside of the lane. Barea's stock is very high but again will have trouble dealing with Russell. With OKC one of their most underrated players is James Harden. When he can contribute OKC has maybe the most balanced starting 5 in the league. People are expecting things to start to turn around for the T wolves but their youth and inexperience will not be able to handle OKC even if it is on a back to back. I don't see these back to back games being a big issue until the end of January. OKC's travel wasn't too far and despite their age they're much more mature than years past and show be able to play like professionals and win by atleast 5. Oklahoma City -5 (bought the hook) 4.8 units to win 4
Good luck everyone! All feed back positive and negative is welcome-let me know what you guys think!!! |

Hey thinking that I need to order the espn college hoops package. I was left on hold with comcast for 20 minutes so I hung up. I figured the fine folks of covers would have the answer I'm looking for. What games do you get with this package? or what conferences?
Thanks for the help! |

Tough one. You can argue that Haren is the guy to stop the streak. But I also think trying to guess when a streak like this one to end can be costly. I haven't had enough time to really cap this game yet but I am familiar with both teams. Over this streak I've hit on the past 5 games laying juice in I think all of them to inferior teams. Now we have a mediocre offense vs. a very good pitcher from tex. Then of course its the great arm of Haren vs the prolific Texas offense. I like to judge pitchers on their last 3 performances. Haren was unreal then was really poor in a trap game vs. Oak before the break. I feel like this may be a great spot to go against Haren and assume he is going into a 2-3 game slump. Ok thats my random thoughts on this game. I gotta go eat then cap n let you know if I take them. |

Yea me to...2 years ago I hit fielder, but lost last year on I forget who. Its a crap shoot. Your right though, good action available on first round. I think Holliday is a bust he has been past 2 years. I have ortiz vs holliday -125 I like that to. I just don't see enough of Kemp to know how he will hold up.

I don't think Cano has a chance-but your going to fade him because his dad's pitching? Just think about that. Yea I love betting on the derby but I don't bet to have a good time. Covers is to give/get information about bets. Your just throwing out all these crazy hypothesis.
PS anyone who thinks "vegas" controls outcomes of any game is fucking retarded. Basically they know more than all of us-that's all it is. They spend 24/7 handicapping. Most people spend 15 minutes. |

What do you think about Kemp vs. Ortize round 1 -140? I don't see the "Captain" not having a good showing early, Ortiz usually plays to the crowd. Also he has the swing built for HR derbys. What do you think about Kemp's Swing? |

I havent seen anyone give a reason to support their winners. Im out east I don't see much of a Kemp-break down his swing for me and his size?

You may end up being right, but after reading your posts again I'm sorry to say you must loose a lot of money with a minset like that. If im wrong I mean no offense, If I'm right then do some research.
