Disney owns the Angels they could get anybody they want, twin owner has money he could get whoever he wants, every team could get a couple of superstars but they choose not to cause they don't want it a bad as others no baseball team has less than $300,000,000 and since you don't have to pay the player all at once, not to mention you could put a clause in his contract and even trade him and his contract to another team if his is not producing so all in all everybody has a shot but most a scared to spend a little money and make a big profit

I said the Yankees are playing within the rules and MLB is playing with a broken system in place. However, the Yankees actions have distorted the FA market and caused player salaries to increase above what they are worth. They leave the scraps for other teams and the system in place does not deter of have any effect on the Yankees. If their money went to teams in their own division instead of Pirates, Royals, Twins, Brewers, etc then it would actually deter the Yankees from spending because the teams in their own division woudl be using the Yankees money to sign FA or inflate prices of FA the Yankees want to sign. But as I said thats not the issue. Its the system in place and the revenue sharing system in particular. Mmac is right and I have repeated the same. Its not ratings I was talking about Sparky. Its the fan base of all teams across the country. Less and less people care about baseball nowadays because there is no competition. Yes ratings might be high but its all from the same fan bases. The fan bases that are and have been ignored are no longer watching baseball or going to games. Over 1/3 of all baseball fans are ignored by major league baseball. that statement is so dumb why do the Yanks have to give a team from their division money you just named 4 team the yanks give money to for no reason at all but you have a problem with them not giving money to those teams in their division and are the Yankees the only team that gives small market teams money cause if not you got the Yanks giving up $20mill plus the other teams giving up $$$ and these Baseball team are not as broke as you think the only thing the bring fans is winning and these so called small market teams do try to compete because of the dump owners think if they spend money and nothing happens it all over when in fact if people see you trying to make an improvement on you team you will get fans and draw interest from other folks Yankees have fans because the win cubs have fans because they "TRY" to win the pirate have little to no fans because they don't try to win do you see where this is going fans come with the investment and for the record the Yankees are not competing against other teams there competing against a high profile team in there division and like i "always say "these small market teams" have hundreds of millions of dollars i say the smallest amount a baseball team owner has is $300,000,000 plus they get money from other teams now that is enough to get a couple premier FA and keep your good talent and along with that ywill come the fans and your income will rise |

jmb9 the problem is people keep talking about the payroll is the reason why the Yankees won it...
when all in all the Yankee added Teix and Swisher (...really who knew) to the lineup and Burnett who didn't have a special and C.C who had a Great year i can't wait to hear the talk when the Yankees get a new pitcher and catcher |

the point is that the money makes no difference i don't hear you talking about how the Phillies payroll was more than the Rays
and i don't think any person alive today would turn down 150million plus the chance for a ring then 140 and a chance at 2'nd place in the division i think mark would of took 100 mill its just the yanks had to over bid Balt and Boston so be it who the champ and your team wouldn't have paid C.C anyway so you can't cry over that 1 nor would they have paid A-Rod so for you to cry about how much they make would be since less and A-rod is not going to a team just for money he has enough from the first 2 contracts he wanted a ring Quick question ... Do the Yanks win the world series without CC/Tex/AJ because last year they didn't and this past year they over paid for these players and won. So did they buy their World Series I would say Yes. Were they the better team? Yes this series but all around I don't think they are. Hats off and Congrats. BTW when you can take the bottom 3 payrolled teams add them up and still have enough to buy another team which is equivalent of the Yanks payroll. I think that answers your question. never answer a question with a question and the bottom payroll teams are at the bottom because they do invest in there team but the Yanks haven't won in 9 years with there bis payroll and all so why can't anybody come up with a explanation for that 1 |

you could say that it was the play that killed him even though that play only cost them 2 runs and the Phillies scored 3 after that and lost by 4 so what effect did it really have plus it was early in the game 2nd inning i believe if anybody cost the game it was Phil Coke in game 5 by giving up the two late inning home runs which was the outcome of the game not Victorino if anything wouldn't it be Pedro's fault cause Andy had people on the bases and nobody scored a few times so why would it be Victorinos fault

don't you mean you hope the owner would spread some of that Disney money to the players so they could compete instead of keeping it

your talkin about 1 play Victorino missed in the second inning which had no effect cause they scored three, and you talkin about bad calls what about the strike out of A-Rod whit the bases loaded
that was clearly out the box and what do you expect for Chase who hit 2 hr's in the game before what about the series Teix had it all evens out |

Yankee fan always liked A-Rod it's the Yankees haters and sports reporters that had a problem with him not the Yankees fans and let me guess you was a Phillies fan 3 years ago right
