Solid picks, just a little unsure about the under in CBJ/CAL. Could be an ugly game.

Thanks for the input guys,
I obviously can see the upside to Edmonton, they are a young, exciting and super talented team. I just can't see them justifying these odds. Not with their stingy D and mediocre Goalie (who has been hot recently however). I know Dallas has a considerable down-side to them, but if Lehtonen plays AVERAGE and their Offense puts up a fight (not out of the question with Benn, Eriksson, Jagr, etc) then I don't see why this couldn't be a Stars win. I guess this one could go either way. I might just stick with DAL for the value. Appreciate the input guys, Wish me Luck! |

Lean: DAL ML +110
At +110 (Bet365), I'm liking DAL as the dogs over EDM. I don't see ANY value in taking EDM at -130 Seems the experts and bettors alike are hammering Oilers. Am I missing something that everyone else sees? Thoughts? Input would be much appreciated. LuckyCanuck |

BAL ML +121
O's may be slumping but taking them at +121 is the best value out there tonight. They are the better team and have completely dominated Minny in the past... this generous line gives bettors all the more reason to hammer Baltimore tonight. BOL |

not to mention he had 29 goals and 29 assists last year (58 pts), which aint too shabby either for a 2nd line centre on a team that missed the playoffs. Grabo will score 30 at least a couple times before he calls it a career and it probably isn't too crazy to predict a ~70pt season in the near future. wishful thinking? maybe, but Grabo is a very talented player and one of the hardest working out there

In Grabo's case, it's not necessarily about the numbers. Not for now anyways. it's what he brings to the Leafs....depth, stability, secondary scoring, chemistry, speed, a wicked shot, and is one of the hardest working players in the league (just watch the beating his takes every night).
and YES wiggins you are wrong, Grabo leafs the Leafs in +/- and back-checks regularly |

It's well-known that the Jets can only play at home. and now that they're going to - god forbid - play a few games on the road, they have a LOT of work to do before we can talk about Jets and playoffs |

Wow. haha guess i was ill-informed. I based my opinion on the very few instances I've seen Dallas home games this year. One involved my Leafs (which mind you was a 50-50 Leafs-Stars fans turnout) though it got loud when Dallas scored... I have seen a couple others that seemed to draw enthusiastic crowds including the recent rollercoaster game vs the Pens last week. seemed as though it was a rockin' building.
Guess the stats don't lie haha |

Given the recent sick and twisted contracts belted out (ie. Hemsky, Leino, Fleischman, Ruutu, etc) this extension does not upset me at all.
From the outside looking in, it is easy to judge Grabo based on his stats this season and say that 5.5mill is a little much. However, watching game in and game out, it doesn't take much to realize how truly valuable Grabovski is to the Leafs. When Kessel is too intimidated to do anything useful, and thus Lupul and Bozak have off-nights, it is Grabovski and the 2nd line that take control and overwhelm the opposing defence with their speed, passing, and unbelievable chemistry. Grabo represents the depth of the Leafs up front. Without him you can say they have MacArthur, Kulemin, Connolly, Lombardi, etc... but Grabovski is the glue of the Leafs offensive depth. He may not put up astonishing numbers, but he arguably the best all-around forward the Leafs have (you can make an argument for Lupul this year). Without Grabo, the Leafs would have no secondary scoring, and would be hard pressed to pick up someone of his calibre and talent to fill the void. this contract extension is absolutely fine by me. Glad to keep him around, GO LEAFS GO |

given the Stars' location, you do have to give their fans kudos. For some strange reason, Dallas seems to play in front of some very loud crowds, which is impressive for a hockey team from Texas.
I think all Dallas needs to boost them back to where they were in the late 90s early 2000s is an AMERICAN star player to fill the voids left by Modano and Hull, and a decent playoff run. Dallas has been deprived of both in recent years. |
