houston will put up 24 or the jags?  it's the NFL anything is possible but i have a strong gut feeling that Houston shuts them down.  Good luck either way!

First play of the season and it is based purely on three major factors.  I know Houston is not an offensive power house but they have a very good defense that will stifle an already anemic Jaguars offense.  I don't care who is playing QB for the Jags it won't matter either way.  Also, Houston has a HUGE motivational edge here after the hurricane came through Texas.  I expect that motivation to show through in their play led by their MVP J.J. Watt.  Lastly, the Jags simply struggle to score points in general and their rookie RB is already banged up heading into game one.

Texans -5.5.   Good luck everyone!

I am still alive. Here are all the remaining teams I have to choose from: Falcons, Niners, Bears, Eagles, Jaguars, Saints, Texans, Rams, Dolphins, Giants, Buccaneers, Chargers, Colts, Jets, Oakland. Right now I am leaning Saints, Colts, or Oakland. What are your thoughts and opinions guys?

at 25 years old he probably realizes how bad the effects of concussions will play later on in his life.  I think he might have been crying because he truly might retire.  I don't think it was because of the pain?  Although a hit like that could bring most grown men to tears.  Really difficult to watch that happen.

Well, Tampa Bay screwed up what was a fairly decent streak I had going in week 8.  They took the lead only to give it away in overtime.  Onto this week's slate of games and I am going to take the Rams at+3. The Rams obviously aren't the greatest team in the NFL but they are coming off a bye and have a decent defense.  The Panthers haven't looked like last years Super Bowl bound team and have yet to win on the road.  Hopefully, their road woes continue.  Rams +3

The interpretation of this particular line movement would in my opinion have no correlation to the Oakland and Jaguars game.  Obviously, the NFL is quirky and I am no genius I just think this particular line move suggests a push to get more and more bettors on Oakland.  I don't suggest this is a trap game either.  It is a combination of many factors and although Tampa Bay has a weak secondary the Raiders don't post much defensive punch either.  Giving up 25.6 points per game and the most yards allowed in the league.  just a few other factors other than my gut instinct.

Well, last week with Geno Smith or without Geno Smith the Jets won and covered.  On to this crazy week in the NFL, I have been looking at a couple games but focused on this one due to line movement mostly. {Tampa starts as -1 favorite, goes up to -1.5 favorite, and then it goes to a pick em with a high percentage of bets on Oakland through out } The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have not won at home yet and the Oakland Raiders have yet to lose on the road.  It isn't often in the NFL where a team can go undefeated on the road and not win (sorry Cleveland) at home.  I am not saying Tampa Bay is the better overall team but I will take them in week 8 as a pick em.  Oakland has traveled from coast to coast multiple weeks so far this season and now play a back to back road game scenario.  They beat up on the Jags last week ya know so did Tennessee.  My one play is the Bucs +0.  Enjoy!

Well, he could be but I am thinking the Jets rally a bit here and with Flacco ailing they could continue their losing streak.  The NFL is difficult to bet and seeing a lot of people backing the Ravens has me hoping a different Jets team shows up (aka one that plays with pride in front of their home fans).  Turnovers have killed the Jets obviously so far and I expect a big game out of Brandon Marshall and Billal Powell.  With that said let's just see how it plays out...

Well, another week is upon us in the NFL and last week the Dolphins came out of nowhere and dusted the Steelers.  Losing Big Ben obviously hurt the Pittsburgh squad but nonetheless they lost and were far from covering.  Here we have another match up that confuses me at first but then leads me to believe the line will dictate the outcome of the game.  The New York Jets have looked nothing less than awful so far this year.  I admit betting them at -2 makes my stomach turn but I think the story will play out where we see a Jets home victory covering a small 2 point home spread.  Is the Geno Smith the answer?  That is doubtful but he could be for this week alone.  Strong lean on the Jets as my only play as they try to right the ship and salvage a terrible start to the season.

Eagles as a home dog is very enticing.  People all over Minnesota right now.  This might be my only play this week will wait to see if it gets to +3.

Well the Eagles lost last week to the Lions.  It was close but they failed to remain undefeated as the story goes.  Another wacky week of football is upon us again.  San Diego already knocked off the Broncos on Thursday night so anything can happen really.  It isn't like Trevor S. strikes fear into the hearts of opposing defenses.  I can see the Chargers turning their season around after that huge home victory.  Aside from that the game that peaks my interest is the Steelers and Dolphins match up.  We have seen it all before.  A very good team failing to cover on the road against inferior competition.  With many people likely to side with Pittsburgh at -7.5 I would lean the other way.  It obviously could be a Steelers win.  I am just saying giving away over a touchdown in a road game is a lot.  I can't blame people for betting Pittsburgh but watch them win by seven and screw the spread.  Who knows not me I will sit back and see if this one liner pans out.

You have to love the NFL.  It makes zero sense sometimes.  I really had this line jump out at me today.  Last week, I said that staying away from the Lions on the road was a bad idea.  I hope people locked in on that as well.  This week we look at the very same principle in terms of line set-ups.  The Eagles, who have looked great, with Carson Wentz at the helm fly into the Motorcity.  Just like last week the line is -3.0 for the road team.  The Lions look to bounce back here at home and that is where the money should go.  Do you really think the Eagles will go undefeated?  Come on man!  What are your thoughts?

ok that is a point well taken.  I will take that as reason number one not to back them.  I can look up the ATS for the Lions on the road but this is a new season.  Although history tends to repeat itself.

The only line that really sticks out to me that looks like it might fool people is Detroit -3.  Let's face it the Bears are awful.  So what's up? Please, it appears that Detroit would be a much more obvious pick here.  Do they Bears come out and prove they aren't a team full of corpses?  I don't know guys.  It appears that many will fire away on the Lions as road dogs at -3 but something doesn't feel right.  I can't put down too many reasons to back the Bears here.  Let's discuss why playing the Lions might be the sucker bet of the week.  There are some intelligent guys on here that will surely have more insight than I can provide.  Good luck Gents!

i would get rid of brown just because of the concussion aspect.  Big Ben has his injury issues but he is a great fantasy QB when healthy.  Jarvis Landry is going to do well.  I like John Brown don't get me wrong but i don't like his situation.

Got to say I would rather see a guy get hurt in the regular season rather than the preseason.  i am Giants fan, but as a fan of football, i hope Romo isn't hurt too badly.

This sounds just like last season where a lot of people were talking up the Cowboys in the preseason.  I understand they have talent but as you may have notice a lot rides on fragile Tony Romo's shoulders.  Without him they are doomed and how many seasons has he played without injury.  This has to concern any bettor who is making a future play.  You would like to hope the team is capable of winning with a back up in there as well.  With the Cowboys if Romo is out it is basically a loss.
