Congrats, my man - best of luck. There will be times you might want to quit - but persevere and you will be rewarded - this is from somebody who spent most of his 20's in graduate school.
For the rest of you - how many of you were like me and opened this thread expecting to hear a story on the order of "I experienced the worst beat in the history of gambling and am shutting it down for a while"

traveling outside the US for work - thanks in advance. my picks fwiw: Bears +3.5, Game under 43.5 Steelers -3.5, Game over 37 Green Bay's A-game is no question much better than Chicago's. However, having watched a LOT of Green Bay this year, I feel like Chicago played them better than anyone else. They can take away the deep ball and contain Rodgers with just their front. They have an edge in special teams and with the home field. I think there's value here with the home team. I see a close game decided by a defensive or special teams play late as Green Bay may get restless and start forcing things. In the AFC game, this is more of a situational "emotional" pick. I feel like the Jets played their super bowl last week. The Steelers have been here before and will create a lot of problems for Sanchez and the run game. If the Jets have to play from behind, then look for Polumalu, Harrison, Woodley et al to create turnovers and this game could get out of hand. GL to all |

I agree with the others in here - there is value in getting the home team at more than field goal in this game. Both games between these two this season were close, hard-fought, field-position games that swung on a key late turnover (James Jones fumble in Chicago, Cutler pick in GB). Take the points, bet the under, enjoy a smash-mouth classic played outdoors. |

Folks, I run a simple, low-stakes pick 'em for friends over the playoffs. I set each line to end on a half-point so there are no pushes. for this week I sent out as the opener: Atlanta -1.5 Pittsburgh - 3.5 Chicago - 10.5 New England -9.5 10 is a key number, so I want to make sure I have those rate. For those of you who see a lot of lines, are those last two consistent with what's out there? I'm thinking that Chicago and New England might drop a full point eac. GLTA |

Dawnie - please stop posting. You attempted to scrawl something about Andy Reid being 3-0 in "first games"...whatever that means. When confronted with the fact that they lost to Cowboys last year in the first round, you ignore the fact and offer an explanation. STOP POSTING |

Thats if i bet butler at all. P/Edge do you thinbk this idea is most efficient or could you suggest another route to go
Okay, if you took Duke for $100 at +145 before Sat. nite, you're looking at winning $145 after tonight If you took Duke ML for $100 on Sat. nite at - 140, then you were sitting on $171 after the game. If you pressed that tonight at -350, and if you win, then you'd be holding $255 - meaning you won a net of $155 Futures bets almost always work this way |

^ this year's final four is very reminiscent of the 2004 final four for me....the Duke-W Va game has a lot of parallels to the Duke-UConn game that year....hopefully a different outcome for my guys GL to you |

bracks - Team was 10-2 and nationally ranked when he took his leave of absence It's the standard course for the NCAA not to assign Wins and Losses to a head coach in absence - Rick Majerus and others have received the same treatment from the NCAA. There was no petition by Duke or Krzyzweski to this effect. In answer to whether or not K 'blamed' Gaudet - I would think that you could readily find this by a simple google search if true. It is, in fact, not true. The next season, K returns and takes the same team, minus its best player (Cherokee Parks) and with no significant additions and returns them to the NCAA tourney. In answer to your question - no, Pete Gaudet is no longer at Duke, and yes he did leave shortly after the '94-'95 season. I will readily grant you that the whole situation could and should have been better handled - no mid-year abdication is a good one. However, to suggest that K bailed out because of the team's quality is absurd. To further suggest that K is terrible human being somehow is just as stupid. GL to you in whatever wagers you place. |

article on covers front page said that this game opened as AZ -1.5 and has been bet out to -3.5 two similar trends here - people supporting Cards on both the point spread and the ML, with the spread passing through the key # of 3, late bettors may feel more confident on the ML don't over-think it. cap it like Hutch said and enjoy your wager. gl, |
