Been at this a long time. Lately, all I play is moneyline bets and teasers. NOBODY can beat the Vegas lines. People have been trying since the "line" was invented. My only thought tonight will be, "Please Iowa just win the effin game" I will have no stress about trying to cover a 5 point spread. The ML is -220. To me that means Iowa has about twice as much chance as winning, but I think Iowa's chances are much higher. I love only paying -220 if they lose. Screw worrying about spreads. It sucks and we all know it. "Just win the game baby" |

Here is the deal...Depaul has basically sucked for a decade. Ever since moving into the Big East they have been a laughingstock of the league. Fast forward to this year and you have a Depaul team that actually competes at a Big East level. In the past they had maybe one or 2 guys at BE caliber talent. Now, half the team is. I believe they have some history with keeping it close with Villanova even in the past. Home court has never been a consideration with Depaul being a positive factor, so the 50 fans in the seats is a non issue. The line is spot on. As most lines are.

btw...I do know the word "easy" in betting is taboo but I said it anyway! |

Ditto on the theme of this thread. Ohio St's offense is so far superior to Michigan's; its almost disgusting. Seems like a 2 td cover rather easy.

I'm taking Cincy. I think the hype around Houston is overdone. Gaudy record last year, but they played mostly stinky behind teams. Yes, they did beat FSU in meaningless bowl game last year but FSU could give a crap about that game. Whenever these teams meet it's normally a close game. Seems to me seven points is way too many to be laying.

I'm having a hard time coming up with reasons why Michigan isn't the easy call. Michigan has had a lot of good games this year. OSU not many, if any at all. Each game they play feels as if they are playing in sand. Generally, I'll defer to Meyer in big games, not this time. Jim is the play.

I can't think of one reason to like PITT. Please help me in finding one.

Not very scientific, but here's my angle. Notre Dame is dam good and Pitt stinks. I'll over look the let down spot for ND. Covering 5.5 should be doable.

People who say betting on teasers is for suckers crack me up. No sh!t . Betting in general is for suckers. Any form of it. |

Normally, I can play devils advocate and come up with reasons for both sides of any given play. Tonight on the other hand is different. Bowling Green is in the Championship by default. The East division stinks this year. I can come up with 10 reasons for why NIU is the play. Zero for BG. That scares me. |

Good analysis. I feel NIU wins by 10. Iowa is the doormat of Big 10 (except for Indy) NIU the best team in MAC for 10 years. NIU easily matches up with them talent wise.

Any thoughts on this years' team? Starting at Iowa again like last year. Lynch (qb) should be prepped for huge year.

Don't post much but I had to chime in. Couldn't resist. Here's the deal...been following the team since 1989. Graduated in 1993. Pro was absolute joke till Joe Novak took over in 1996. Actually, they won the California Bowl in 1983, but thats another story. His first year he went 0-11 but after that, program took off. I can still remember like it was yesterday that Stacey Robinson trounced all over #24 Fresno State 73-19 in 1990. Highlight of my college career, keep in mind there were maybe 4,000 fans in the stands AND it was homecoming. This is to give you a sense of the size of NIU Football back then. NOW, a complete 180. Since Novak took over NIU has been a force in the MAC conference. Sent lots of players to the NFL, team is no joke (for a small conference). Flash forward to this game coming up Friday night, I see a complete mis-match. NIU has been rocking ever since they beat Alabama IN Alabama back in 2003 with Michael Turner. Been in 6 bowl games since 2004. Have the nations longest home winning streak in tact 19-0 (?). 15-0 the last 15 games against MAC opponents. QB Jordan Lynch came from one of the premier HS programs in the Chicagoland area Mt. Carmel; and highly touted. After two years as a head coach, Dave Doeren is already being discussed as one of the hotter young coaches on the rise. This years team has studs on either side of the ball. As the guy said earlier, they should of been undeated this year if they play "unconventional". I'm guessing if they were 12-0 right now, they would be top 10 team in nation. They led the entire Iowa game until the last score with 30 seconds to play. 8-2 ATS this year. They blew out pretty much every team they played this year. The line opened -5, its now -6.5. And to top it off, I just read Jordan Lynch won MVP of the MAC this year. Damn, I could go on and on. Do your own research, I'm just here to help.

The score will be 54 to 28. NIU rolls in this one. Toledo is finished. I'm also from Dekalb. Just kidding.

NIU will roll. Screw the triple option. Chandler Harnish is one of the best qb's in the country. O-line is top 20. 42-28.

Depaul has a couple of freshman that are legit. Melvin and Young are true BE calibre players which Depaul rarely gets. I believe both lead the BE freshman in scoring. New coach has them playing really hard. Even though they are 0-2 in conference, I gotta think their confidence is high. Playing much better than early part of season. Their style of play takes some getting used to. After 14 games the players are starting to play it like its suppose to be played. Give me the double dight points at home in conference play.

NIU's run game is ridiculous. They have at least 5 players that can take it to the house on any given play. Harnish is one of the most efficient qb's in the nation. Just take the ML -1300. Don't sweat having to cover 17.
