-- East coast game

-- Very humid is Memphis.  UCLA will be dragging by the 2nd half

-- UCLA defense is a metaphor for swiss cheese

-- 75% on UCLA, but no line movement

These early season games are tough - you don't really know much about the teams.  But it so hard to wait!  I'll take CSU just because of the altitude.  It's tough on sea-level teams.

COLORADO STATE -4

Because the Giants just don't care. It's an exhibition. Cleveland, on the other hand, is try to establish something... anything. And the have a lot of players fighting for a starting role. Give me Cleveland to win.

8-0 ATD.  Will a dog ever not cover?

Didn't last year start out this way too?

Dogs are 7-0 against the spread so far.  I guess we just ride this until it breaks.

Cubs -- especially at home. 17 straight home games with a run scored in the 1st. Not so much on the road.

BloodyShredder
MLB Betting > Anyone notice that... > View Post
Now 17 straight games.  I've been betting "there will be a score in the 1st inning" for many years.  Never seen anything like this.  I'll just keep riding until it's over.

...Reds games have a score in the 1st inning in 16 straight games and is 19-1 over that last three weeks. I've been riding it, but how much longer can it continue?

Don't know why the total is so low at 127.   SMU will drag this over regardless of what the Bearcats score.

Take the over - both teams can score (for an Ivy) and the total is relatively low at 129

NFL does not want the Patriots to win this game.  This league is the worse at writing their own story lines and making their dreams come true (e.g. Manning winning last year or the Saints winning after Katrina).  Just watch how many holding calls there are against the  Pats after a big play.  It doesn't always work out, but the refs will be trying.  Since I'm a Pats fan, I don't bet on their games, but I'd reccomend taking the points.

So many homers.  I wish both teams could lose and then they could go home so we can talk betting.

Everything says over here. But Memphis has played decent D in about half their games. With a couple of weeks to prepare and the rain, I'll go UNDER. And take the points with MEMPHIS.

Geez, Patriot hate runs deep.

Surprisingly, Pats and Ravens are both 4-8 on the OU. And, other than the Pats manhanding of the Bills, neither team has a game where both halfs were Over. And it's Monday night in cold, damp Foxboro.

Under in the 1st half. If it doesn't hit, chase under in the 2nd half.

Neither of these teams have had a game this year where both halfs went under.

OVER 1ST HALF.

If it doesn’t hit, OVER 2nd half.

Zips are jockeying for a decent bowl bid.  They’ll run up the score on a hapless Ball State.

Cleveland only getting seven?  Dallas should cover this easy.  And I smell a trap.  Thing is, this is the NFL, not college.  Talent is pretty close, even between 6-1  and 0-7 teams.  Cowboys playing after a big divisional win and are on the road.  Dallas probably wins, but Browns keep it close.

A little rain never caused an under (especially when it's 70 degrees).  But they're predicting 20 mph sustained winds.  Makes it very hard to throw.  Give me the UNDER 23 and I'm starting my Bills defense in fantasy.

Ottawa will surprise a lot of people this year.  No major losses and adding Brassard will be a big plus.  Ceci should take a step up this year too.

"MT has 4 WR out for this game how are they going to attack, WK can score"

None of these WR have played all year (Frazier played one game in Sept and had three catches).  Missing them will really not matter.  Both teams can score - take the over.

Miami showed that they can score last week against the Pats.  Losing their QB did not affect the Pat's D and Dolphins took it ot them.  If you watched the game, Miami just had some bad breaks in the 1st half.  Hate laying this many points but...

Thanks, sjon.  People here don't seem to get that it's reading the lines that pick winners.  Not knowing the game.

It doesn't really matter if you think the Clemson o-line is garbage or that Tech's secondary is weak.  Vegas knows that too and it is all worked into the line.

Line opened at 10 (10.5 and 11 at some books).  Two-thirds of the public is on Clemson, so the line should move up to equal out the money.  But it's down to 9.5!  Why do the books want to pull more bets to Clemson?  Either (1) the books know something that I don't or (2) smart money is going big on Tech and they know something that I don't.

Reverse line movement doesn't lie (well, at least most of the time)

GEORGIA TECH +9.5

BTW, posts that just say " will cover" don't really lend much to the discussion either.

I guess reverse line movement is reverse line movement - even in the WNBA.

Any idea why the line has swung from Mercury + 1 to Mercury -4? Especially with the public on Indiana.  That's a big move.
