have sportsbook.com in it's top 10.  I just discovered a website sportsbookreview.com which i saw someone reference in one of their posts.

Sportsbook.com in on their blacklist, and it gives a D - rating.

I wish I had known a few months ago but covers should explain why they place it in their top ten.

covers.com or sportbookreview.com , one of them is wrong on this situatuion and the longer my check takes the more i'm starting to beleive it's the ladder.

thanks for nothing covers,

sportsbook probably paid covers to advertise their shady business.

I'm in the process of changing my book. There's been a lot of bashing of Sportsbook.com lately. But isn't Sportsbook.com the only book that allow you to go to a local vendor and deposit "cash" to your account right there? No need for a checking acct, wire transfer, etc...?

true as that may be, if you're referring to a western union, what good does it to you if they won't pay you out and their customer service is crap,

it's tough enough sweating out games but to have to sweat the pay out on top of it, kinda defeats the purpose,

i don't mind rolling the dice on games but if i win i don't want to wait a calender year top get paid.

Hey jchoo96. We are all aware that Sportsbook is having some problems with their processor. I am waiting on a payout myself and I talked to a boss there and I can assure you if they do owe you money it will come. The gentleman I contacted I have known for many years and he or for that matter Sporstbook has never steered me wrong.

Almost every book in the industry has problems from time to time and with Spotrsbook they are working hard and before long  we can all get back to receiving our hard earned pay outs in a timely manner.

As far as your question about why Sportsbook is in Covers top 10 list. I can tell you something about that list, I don’t always agree about the exact  order of the list but if Covers puts them on the list I can guarantee you they are a solid book.

Lou.

I agree with Lou.  I have been paid each and every time when I have used them.  At times it has taken longer than should be expected. The issue that I have with Sportsbook is their lack of forwardness when there is an issue.  Stuff happens and I know that but they tend to give you "checks in the mail" stories when they should be upfront about any delays that exist.  A note on the front of their website would help but I am sure they don't want to turn customers off from depositing if they were to do that.  Plus many customers don't withdraw that often or at all so they don't even know that there is a problem.  I know Alex is the PR guy there and he should make a better effort to get more upfront information to anyone who calls on a withdrawal issue so they feel more comfortable with the situation upon hanging up with customer service.

jchoo96, Sportsbook.com is in the Top 10 list because they belong there. I've been around the industry since 1995, the beginning my friend, and I know everyone behind every operation. The people behind sportsbook.com have hundreds of millions of dollars. They're huge, they pay and they have a great product - that's why they're on the list. If you don't get paid call me out.

trance, I've loved the avatar for awhile, even watched the video from your spaces page. I’ve got to tell you every time that avatar loads costs me money, so yes I do take money (and we're not cheap to advertise) from books on this site. However, we've been around for 13 years and not one of our recommended books has ever gone under. Until there's regulation that's pretty much all we can do isn't it?

The fact of the matter is most posters in this forum are actually shills for other books trying to hurt the competition. No one in their right mind who even knows this business would say Sportsbook.com is going out of business. They were sold to Sportingbet for $250 million dollars back in the heyday. The last year Sportsbook.com’s statements (annual statements here) were public they had revenue of $200 million and a gross profit around $60 million. In terms of traffic and customers they're the same size today in my opinion. Does this lead to bad customer service sometimes, yes and this has been brought up to them, but to say SB is not legit is overkill at the very least.

Let's speak the facts here folks, not just a bunch of shills trying to take down the competition.

Well said plavers....it gets tricky trying to wade through some of the crap in here to get to the facts...thanks for your candor.

It's too bad a lot of books rely on 'affliates' to go round up business by talking shit in an otherwise productive forum...drags the whole discussion down.

logans is another on the covers recommended list with a D- at sportsbookreview.

having observed that, though, i wish sbr would give reason codes or something like it to indicate the main reason(s) they're slagging a site ... there's a big difference in a poor grade for payment hassles versus a poor grade just because a reviewer didn't like the layout or think they had enough uzbekistani cricket props.  i have had a couple of accounts with covers advertisers who were given poor grades by sbr and yet i didn't have any payout problems; sportsbetting.com is one such site.

I would guess D- is the 'default' review score when SBR stands nothing to gain by giving a book a solid review ($$$).

I mean come on .... they gave them a D- review on the same day Logans first launched.   How in the hell can they give them a fair review by just looking at the fucking site?   I know why - because they never actually 'reviewed' the site.

SBR gives more weight to haters and bashers more so than covers does.  If 5 people bash a book on SBR they'll look into changing the grade.  Not the greatest barometer to use as most complaints have a piece of the story missing.

I  used sportsbook.com up until the netteller debacle. I can't understand why anyone that reads these forums would even consider using them. You can't hardly come on this board without reading a thread about people hoping to get their money that have been waiting for months. There's just too many good sportsbooks out there that are taking care of business properly. I really enjoy Covers but I think it's ashame they continue to lead people to believe sportsbook.com is a good site when there have been literally hundreds of posters in these forums complaining of waiting months for payouts. This is a problem that has apparently been going on for a very long time without being straightened out. I don't care how you spin it, there is nothing solid about a book that takes months to make a payout.

Yes, unfortunately, that is how it works. Until we advertise on the SBR website, we have a poor rating.

That's how the industry works.

But its a little different with Covers, as they guys do business the right way, treat everyone fairly, and understand they they need to take care of and look out for their users.
