Good book. But, every time I do a Western Union with these dopes, they mess it up somehow. They always say 20 minutes to two hours. But, even after two hours, I still have to call to follow up and they tell me it's still pending. Then, shockingly, the money is in my account five minutes later. The Greek would always have the money in my account within 15 minutes of me giving them the control #. No follow up needed.

Money Gram is even worse with these clowns. Their customer service absolutely sucks!

They have a new processing system for WU and MG but I also think they do this as a precautionary step for security measures...just a thought.  While it's annoying to have to follow up it's just a 2 min follow up call/live chat so really not worth complaining about in my opinion .  They pay - they have good lines and their customer service is pretty good.

I know what you're saying but try to be patient. At least they haven't bent over for the US government. They deserve a lot of credit for that. They're a rock solid book with pretty good funding and payout methods. They put up a ton of stuff to bet on and they take pretty big action.

I made the switch to them since VIP closed...I always used a CC to fund my vip account and now 5 dimes is forcing moneygram or WU.  I used MG and funded yesterday.  Well it was a major hassle for me.  MG first of all wouldn't clear the transfer until I called them to explain that Julio in the Philippines is someone I personally know.  Finally they bought it and cleared my transaction.  Well I log onto 5Dimes and put the control number in and 1.5 hrs later the deposit was still pending.  I call them up and they tell me the money was sent in the Philippines currency and I needed to call MG and get it switched to US currency.  I called MG and they confirmed that it was US currency so I called 5Dimes back and they reset my deposit and said it would be another 45 minutes and to call back.  When I called back some very rude lady finally put the money in my account but I had already missed the game I was going to bet on.  I MISS VIP ALREADY.

i tried to do this today.  i've used western union and 5 dimes in the past, but the last time i had to deposit was last fall.  and i had been away for 5 dimes since mid basketball season.

when i tried to make a deposit today, i contacted 5dimes as usual via web chat. 5dimes gives you the city, country and name of the person and tells you to make the payout in us dollars, which is a key thing for their end (5dimes).  the city this time was costa rica.  they used to use lima, peru but i guess during my time away that changed.

problem 1 - while at western union location, my currency exchange, when i get receipt back it wasn't going to be in us dollars. i raised this flag and they said it was nothing they could do. they said they typed in costa rica, and it comes automatically back in pesos or whatever and they said they don't have options to make payout in us dollars.  i'm thinking this could be trouble, but i just get the process for refunding transaction and keep going.

problem 2 -  i call 5dimes an hour later, no money. they tell me to call western union.

problem 3 - western union seems vague about what's going on, until they transfer me to what i then find is the fraud department. they call me back to ask a bunch of questions (i think there is another post about this kind of questioning from western union). since this had never happened after about 5 previous western union deposits, i didn't realize this was even possible and i was not prepared like i could have been had i known.  they asked:

- do you know person personally?

- why are you sending money?

- what will money be used for?

they said they were asking these questions to protect me from fraud. i think that, probably from the online poker blow up, that western union is on to this method of funding gambling sites set up outside of the united states.  since no one will incriminate themselves and tell western union the money is for gambling or poker, western union says "we're trying to protect you from fraud"

sorry for the long post. bottom line, be careful using western union to fund this stuff.  when trying to make my deposit, they took my license number, ss#, so i'm sure i'm in their system somewhere to flag if i try to send money internationally again.

When you bring your cash and  make the transfer you HAVE TO BE EXPLICIT in telling them that you want it AVAILABLE IN US DOLLARS.

When the agent types in the country there is a place where they can change the PICK UP currency.  YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM 100X AND MAKE SURE it says USD on the receipt.  7/10 times the agent is DUMB DUMB DUMB.

it ALWAYS gives them the option to select USD.  If they make a mistake of course they tell you "there is nothing I can do"...they are FULL OF garbage.

Sorry man, but you are now wrong. I contacted Western Union after the agent let me look at all of the options for CR yesterday. When I spoke with WU they said there are no longer options to send it to CR in USD. I asked many number of ways and the response was still the same. Then I call 5dimes and they say send it however it needs to be sent and there is a good probability they will be able to collect it. WTF does that mean?  5D customer service is the worst ever.

WU wants to convert currency because they make money on the spread as well as the fees. Your'e geting dinged another 2% on your deposit.

Western Union and Moneygram are a huge pain in the behind. You have to worry about it being sent in US dollars. Then you have to make sure all the receiver names are spelled correctly. Then you have to sweat whether their compliance departments will call you before they process the deposits.

5dimes has a much better deposit option that I've been using for quite some time. I won't discuss it here but contact them for other deposit options.

LOL, I had the unpleasantary to do the same with 5dimes, when sending to an Asian country.  Had go to back to MG, and re-convert it.  The person MG called the place said that particular country only had limited places to pick it up in USD, but I said go ahead and change it(not know WTF on).

You must not be asking in the correct manner.  I have seen the screen with my own eyes when I went to send the funds.  I have sent them for 5+ years and NEVER had an issue with getting local payout in USD....NEVER.

Depending on what country you are sending it to, it could default to the countries local payout currency and the agent HAS to change it to USD.  They ALWAYS have the choice of inputting USD...if they are telling you different they either don't know what they are talking about, or lying.  I have seen it with my own eyes.

Yes in some countries you can only pick it up in USD at a bank location...NOT at a normal WU/MG location which only offers local currency payout.

It's all a huge PIA
