#4 Posted: 6/11/2011 7:52:03 PM They get us all excited about this garbage and they dont tell us any updates. Even when they give "updates" its no real news. IMO this whole deal was made up just to make a feeble attempt to get a little more business to the POS site. Fuckin Pathetic! |

#5 Posted: 6/11/2011 7:59:42 PM I mean on one hand covers tells us "a deal is imminent" and then on the other says "its only 3 weeks, these things take time"
I could deal with all the bs and ambiguity and what not as long as lou or freedom checked in more often. I know they can't give updates as to what they are doing exactly but they could at least post AT LEAST once per day. That really isn't much to ask at all. It really isn't especially considering this was their #1 book.
If they do anything other than that, like ignore the situation by not talking to us for 3-4 days at a time, they gotta expect that we will conclude nothing is going on and we aren't hearing all the facts. |

The main issue isn't that they aren't checking in. They check, and the news sucks. If they checked in once in the last three weeks, but that one time they checked in the news said we would all get our money back and could move it to another book, than there wouldn't be all of this insanity in here.
This sucks but it's time everyone stopped expecting anything to happen. Let it go. It's going to be a lot easier to swallow the pill when you do that. Trust me. |

#8 Posted: 6/11/2011 10:15:59 PM Right, I'd be much calmer if every day they checked in 2 or 3 times saying "no word, this sucks, we're pissed too"
I so want to trust covers and respect their effort, but not hearing anything daily is just making it so hard to do so. |

#10 Posted: 6/11/2011 10:33:53 PM well, i'm just tired of hearing stuff like your money is safe, then next day your money is gone. We should hear something early this week, then nothing , we should hear something Friday, then nothing. So they rather post nothing than these BS. Covers has no credit now. Even if they say something positive about the bailout, how many of you going to believe it again ?

Exactly the poing I made in another post-they are just buying time..the bombshell is coming soon-there won't be a bailout...You want to know why? Beted wants money up front, and who do you think stands to gain if they get money up front? Covers. Covers is probably negotiating the best deal possible for them as well. Sad but true. |

#12 Posted: 6/12/2011 12:17:25 AM We are not negotiating any bailouts, and nor will we.
They were advertisers and I wish we had more information right now, but I don't.
I'm sorry. |

#18 Posted: 6/13/2011 1:11:44 AM Here's an incoming scud......................... We being SBR. Almot certain legal action arising from this, right? Or is it that in actuality, the best defense against defamation is the truth.
There is no pissing contest.
We received a communication from a book wanting to acquire the betED
database. We forwarded it to Covers. If you recall they denied there was
an offer for the longest time and denied we had emailed them and went
on to call us liars. It was ONLY when we threatened to release proof of
the deal and all the communications that covers began spinning their way
towards recognizing there indeed was a deal. A deal they had somehow
overlooked.
SBR posted the deal to inform betED players. Covers denied the deal
existed for some unknown reason. SBR only returned fire when covers
insisted there was never an offer for betED and that SBR was lying. It
remains a mystery why they purposely lied and tried to lead discussion
away about the existence of a deal that could have restored betED player
balances within 3 days of going out of business.
SBR does not like or dislike covers. But their actions required us to stand up and call bull she-ite.

#19 Posted: 6/13/2011 8:56:48 AM Didn't happen that way.
Yes, they sent us an email... It was sent to somebody the sales department... after hours. Not to management, as claimed, and not in nearly enough time to respond to their barrage of accusations that started 5 seconds after they hit the "Send " button.
In other words they manufactured that situation to generate the most possible embarrassment to Covers.
After that point the rest of their argument falls down. If they were informed of any offers, they held them to themselves until the moment they felt they could score the most points.
And from a political level... Bravo! Well done!
But I don't see how those actions helped the players in any way. Once we received that message, we forwarded it to betEd as soon as we could manage contact with them.
This saga has been rife with mistakes, but If there was another way we could have handled that particular situation, I don't know. |

#22 Posted: 6/14/2011 11:49:32 AM kidfree, BetOnline has no obligation to contact us about anything.
That would be like Adidas contacting SportsIllustrated when they are interested in buying Nike.
As I've been saying over and over... we are a third-party. An advertising option that unfortunately chose to advertise a company that got seized by the DOJ and so we would like to do right by our customers and try to get that money back for them.
But any buyout or bailout deals do not, have not, and never will be seen by us until after a something has been negotiated. We find out about the situation after the fact like everybody else.
We are still waiting for an update today. |
