I know there are tons of competitor websites in here giving you shit these days. I just wanted to say thank you!!! I received my $15k payout from Bodog finally. I requested it back in May after you took them off your list. I wouldn't want to have that payout request in right now.

BTW, SBR had bodog as a A- at that point. Gee, I wonder who really knows more about the industry. Bodog is a C- right now at SBR and gambling911.com, a staunch ally of Bodog for years, has just turfed them because of inside knowledge. Anyone want to argue that point?

Guys, stop bashing and putting blind faith in any site or recommended list. Judge everything on the results. Covers was obviously way ahead of the curve on Bodog. It just brought on Legendz which is one of my most trusted and favorite books. Getting paid fast is going to be a issue going forward, but getting paid period is the most important thing. Just remember that.

If one of their books go under then we have every right to go after Covers. Until then I'm cutting them some slack on where they lead us. It's worked out for me so far.

All the best and good luck!

Glad you got paid and I completely agree with your comments on Bodog.  I always scratch my head when I see a A- rating for them.

Here's to you finally getting your money.

Finally its almost football season. I am hoping when football starts all this whining will stop. If I was owed money by Bo Dog then I would have a good reason to whine because I suspect it will never come.

I have enjoyed this forum for many years and have never heard of any one not being paid by books involved with Covers. I have not had any pay out issues myself but from what I hear Lou has been involved when any Covers posters have had trouble and it sounds like he might have made a difference.

I don’t care if 100 new lists pop up. When I look at the Covers list and see books like BetED, Bet Jam, Pinny, 5 Dimes and my fav bookmaker I can tell it’s a solid list.

Like I have been saying for a while here, if they are on Covers list then they are a solid book.

Agree.

I've used 4 or 5 different books recommended by Covers over the years but havent had any issues other then a few short delays in payments (which you could get anywhere).   I've always got paid.

Thanks guys. I still do most of the homework myself because I play big. I just wanted to point out where Covers actually had better info than I did regarding Bodog.

There's allot of newbies in here. They should get the right information not a bunch of propaganda from competitor shills.

Just read this from the Vancouver Sun

David Baines, Vancouver Sun
Published: Wednesday, August 27, 2008

The Bodog online gambling empire continues to crumble. On Thursday, I received an e-mail from a reader who said Fiver Media (formerly Riptown Media), which provides marketing and website support for Bodog from offices in Vancouver and Toronto, had just laid off more than 200 people.

Gambling911.com, a Florida-based website that focuses on the online gambling industry, similarly reported that Bodog, "under intense scrutiny by the U.S. Government, has laid off hundreds of its employees this week, leading to speculation that the online gambling firm will be leaving the U.S. market."

If Bodog abandons the United States, it may as well fold its tent. It isn't licensed to do business in Europe, and it doesn't do business in Canada -- most likely because the last online gambling firm to operate in Canada, Vancouver's Starnet International Communications Inc., was shut down by the RCMP.

That leaves only the United States market, which is evaporating quickly. U.S. authorities have been exerting heavy pressure on all online gambling firms that take bets from U.S. citizens, including Bodog.

Earlier this month, Forbes magazine reported that, since January, the U.S. government has seized $24 million from U.S. bank accounts linked to Bodog. This has caused the firm serious problems. Gambling911.com reported that Bodog has been slow paying customers and vendors, and was considering whether to withdraw its endorsement of the Bodog gambling site.

Bodog was founded by former Vancouver resident Calvin Ayre. In June, after U.S. authorities had seized millions from Bodog accounts, Ayre announced he had sold the business to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, which runs hundreds of gaming websites from the Kahnawake reserve near Montreal, and was retiring.

His retirement, however, really amounts to an exile. He dares not set foot in the United States, lest he be arrested, or even Canada, where RCMP would most certainly arrest him at the behest of U.S. authorities if he was indicted.

Bodog's support operations in B.C. consist of Fiver Media, which operates from an office in downtown Vancouver, and Triple Crown Customer Service, which provides customer account service from an office in Burnaby. Triple Crown's status is unclear: Its website is currently reported to be "under construction."

It's also difficult to determine what's happening at Fiver Media. On Tuesday, I dropped into its office at 333 Seymour St., but nobody would talk to me.

Fiver Media is run by Jim Phillips, a Vancouver chartered accountant and former senior partner with the Vancouver accounting firm Morgan & Company. Although he was in his office when I dropped by, he did not show his face.

Phillips prefers to work in the background, Wizard of Oz style. But make no mistake: He has played an instrumental role in the development of Bodog's online gambling activities which, as noted, are viewed as illegal in the United States. I would not be surprised if the U.S. Justice Department doesn't have him, as well as Ayre, in its crosshairs.

You got me there on the Dunes, I don't remember an online book called the Dunes and I keep a pretty extensive log of books.

But I do remember that BetonSports did take a good number of people.  I knew of at least 5 people that lost 10K each.  I was fortunate enough to get my money out about 6 weeks before they went under.  I just didn't like what I was seeing and hearing.

The only reason I had an account there was for the great teaser odds they had, including HT teasers.  Man, they were giving money away.

Well I guess in hindsight they took money.

Always love shills with 2 posts giving an opinion; classic.

And no they were not our site when they went down; not saying we were predicting these companies to get into trouble but you can tell when a company has changed it's business philosophy & if it does not fit well for our users then we push them along.

The feds are not going to back off of Bodog anytime soon. I hope it can work for all involved.

I took a hit on Betonsports as well. I'm still owed $1300. I can't fault any site for recommending to play at a publically traded book with $200 million in cash, chartered accountants and a board of directors that had a member of the british house of lords.

Lipps, I know one guy who's owed six figures from BOS. Criminal is the only way I describe the board of directors who were supposed to keep the players funds seperate.

It's a damn shame that happened, no way will people get thier money back.

But I gotta be honest with ya, that guy that had six figures in an online account sure didn't use the best judgement. I don't care if it's Pinny, Betjam, 5Dimes....use any A+ rated book...I would never, ever keep that much offshore.

Although if he did have that much in there maybe it was small change to him.

To Thedoaker,

I don't remember BOS being on Sportsdirect sites when it went down.

But I do remember the night I got a call from a good friend inside Pinny that told me to get all of my money out right now.  Shows it's a great practice to be nice to people.  You never know how you will be repaid.

Lipps, yeah don't feel too bad for him. He probably made that back 100 times over shorting Citibank last year. He's a big hedge fund manager.

This coming from a guy hiding behind an alias with 2 career posts on Covers.  Is there a specific reason why someone should give a shit about what you have to say?  If so, please share.

doaker,

Actually, they were not.

Against our better judgement, BOS was on our site for a grand total of ONE month in the history of Covers. That wasn't our proudest moment, as we had previously had a policy of avoiding BOS (or their predecessor NASA). But they convinced us they were publicly traded and changing their ways.

Then we came to our senses and decided not to continue with them, anyway. We simply didn't like the way they operated their business.

And that was not the month they went under. If you have information that proves otherwise, please share it, because I am usually pretty certain about things like this.

Now, you are obviously coming here from one of our competitors' sites. I am pretty sure which one too. So while you are at it, why don't you share that information with us too?

Otherwise, please stop trying to stir up shit by re-writing history.

Just wondering... are we going to wait to see what site thedoaker is shilling from, or are you going to share that with us, F@S?

I am axctually interested because I figured he was a sportsbook shill, not a industry site shill.

Are you saying BetUS isn't paying people?

Or are you just changing the subject because I called out your bullshit?
