Orlando Florida High School will now drug test all students

This school has Christian values. If the parents do not agree, then they can take their children elsewhere.

Lordy.. I am not a liberal, I'm a Democrat. you are confused. One doesn't necessarily agree with every plank no matter which party you vote. I have no issues with private schools, they are good for the country. Private anything for that matter. Just as long as it's regulated. (Overseers)

Secondly.. some for you folks say you have tried dope. It's for Dopes. Personally, I have never touched the stuff.

 I have tried beer once, It was nasty. It's like urine. I have had much wine, like Rosa'  mostly with meals.  Don't drink, don't smoke either. Maybe that's why I'm still alive, who knows !

My vice is that I like to gamble a little. Poker, football, golf. Just for the challenge of it. And, I'm into religion.

So not everyone in my generation is/was a druggie .

I'm not sure that drug testing is akin to Christian values. One might actually argue that testing is inapposite.

Statistically, testing reduces the prevalence of drugs in schools. Then again, statistically, road blocks reduce drinking and driving fatalities. So would prohibition. See where I'm going...

Brows. Proverbs 22:6.... Train up a child as the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

 I was trained up, I'm old, I never touched it, so I did not depart from my parents teaching.

But is such a proverb suggesting that the parent be absolved of responsibility?

And how does such testing (and the results/punishment) distinguish from a student who tries something once and it remains in their system from one who is using/selling, etc.

I see it as just the opposite Brows, the parent is taking that responsibility by sending their children to a Christian school, as my parents did. Not to say that those that can't afford a Christian school are not taking responsibility, some people have been born into better circumstances.  But this school is at the very least, taking the lead

Secondly, I would suggest that it's up that school to punish accordingly.
