whats the demographics of all thise states? I have no idea.

whats the graduation rate?

The gang activity?

The # of familes who are welfare dependent generation after generation?

What are the current and forecast budget conditions of each state

This isnt as black and white as some would like to make it.

If someone has time they should research what areas of the red states have the most poverty.

Blue states have poverty too, just not as much as red states. Someone should research those statistics and see if there are any similarities between poverty stricken red states and areas of blue states that have poverty.

Then take it one step further and research poverty stricken countries and see if there are any similarities between those countries and poverty stricken areas of the United States.

My guess is there won't be any similarities but I've been wrong before.

heres the common denominator...  they dont make enough money not to be in poverty...

The thread asks "Why Do Red States Have More Poverty?"...

what is your opinion about what it is exactly about states with GOP leadership and the people that vote for them that seems to result in more poverty then states where that does not occur?

even if you post the link twice I am not opening it... you want to make a thread about that topic then go ahead...  but read the title of the thread...

Why Do 'Red States' Have More Poverty?

Lets try this yet again... with out your childish insults or deflection trying to run away from the discussion at hand...

I see at as purely coincidence. As a strong conservative like yourself, you should clearly understand that conservative principles require one to take responsibility for oneself and only temporary dependence on the government in drastic circumstances.

I didn't post it twice. It is a programming issue with covers that led to the double post.

so I assume then based on this logic and all things that have happened during obama's presidency that is not based on his decisions or ideology...

or that your desperate attempt at going off topic with homelessness in NY is purely coincidence also...

Purely Coincidence

This is a good one to remember moving forward...

no need for a response (even though you will be probably compelled to try to bash or make up some other lie)...  I think we can all see how you think...

do you agree or disagree in the purely coincidence theory?

It seems that you are willing to look at data, patterns, demographics, and make an analysis into possible causes of poverty...

perhaps you can dispel the myth that the two of you post for each other...

you bring up some good points...

perhaps it is too simple to say that GOP leadership causes poverty...  perhaps the GOP leadership promotes conditions that result in poverty...

you have a nice list...

graduation rate is a good place to start...  The 21st century GOP history of education reform gives us the "no child left behind" as the prime example in terms of their ability to create conditions that prepare students for the future...  and perhaps the students being ill-prepared results in them being in poverty...

and that just does not add up...  seems like it would be prudent to invest in education to avoid poverty and welfare for life... but I guess some people dont think that way... and thus some states have more poverty

While not a very profound of a thought, all these damn colors that link us politically may explain why our dreams are always in black & white..........and not red & blue.

simple, the poverty stricken red states are chocked full of blacks and hispanics, and we all know wealthy and powerful people, like democrat politicans and their university indoctrinated white base, hates minorities, so they politically punish them into a life of suffering and poverty,,,,then tell them to vote for me to save you from myself

so whats the explanation for the white people in poverty?

arent there simply by number more white people in poverty then minorities?

I hate how people pretend like white people have it so great and minorities have it so bad when the reality is that only a small percentage of white people are making all the money....

and the universities seem to be indoctrinating women and minorities more with quotas, affirmative action and scholarships/grants for minorities...

Why pretend that the races with the least number of people make up most of the burden and characterize an untrue picture about white people having all the advantages?

unless I am incorrect in my statement that as a majority group in numbers white people logically have more people in numbers in poverty...  do you have numbers to back you "white people got it made" rhetoric?

perhaps your post is a joke and your playing the race card is simply to show absurd that notion is...
