wouldn't doubt it.  i'm sure the blame goes around to a lot of people.  but republicans know how the game is played.  why do they keep looking like assholes these days.

but it would be nice if they publicized who fucked up the hurricane relief money by putting a bunch of unnecessary spending in the bill.  if only we had a decent media in this country.

his name is harry reid, but i don;t care to discuss partisan politics for i hate them all. Also on a sidenote, i have no idea how much federal relief was granted to the state of Alabama after the tornadoes destroyed the entire state, but i do distictly remember "us" being told we were garbage out of luck after Irene happened . I don;t remember a special bill for "us". Funny how garbage shakes out sometimes isn't it??

In short, the deal reached between Obama and congressional Republicans continues to let Americans enjoy relatively high levels of government service at low levels of taxation. The only way that's possible, of course, is through heavy borrowing, which future generations will inherit.

While Americans widely denounce the mounting debt, not so many embrace cuts to costly programs like Social Security. And most want tax increases to hit someone other than themselves.

Christie called Speaker John Boner disgusting on national tv, for his inaction. Boner was trying to get back at Chrisite for siding with Obama after the storm by delaying 60 B in funding, but Christie was too shrewd for that dummy. Now Boner is hurrying to pass the bill

WAIT JUST A COTTONPICKING MINUTE . . .

Some of you are worried about "pork" while those on the east coast are without homes, food, diapers etc.  How long do these people have to suffer?  While the politicians keep debating, the people keep suffering.

Give them the aid, then debate "pork".

I have heard that the total cost for Iraq, Afghanistan, and all of Obama's "peace- keeping" missions is 4.2 trillion over the past 10 years.

And when the bill comes for a vote you can't just cross out stuff you don't like. That is not how it works. There is no proverbial magic marker to speak of.

Christie gains points on this one.   When he runs in '16, he needs to be a NEW kind of Repulsican.

 captjohn67, I feel compelled to share something with you that I still think about. 6 yr's ago or whenever, I met a wonderful couple from Alabama here in Vegas that had just lost all their hope's and dreams in Katrina. He had worked his whole life as a diesel mechanic and they sunk most of their life saving's into their dream place in a small town on the coast outside of Mobile (the name escapes me). It was a store/bait & tackle/flower (for her) place with their house off to the side. Like I said, It was their dream place (he was from there) that they had worked their whole lives for(they were 60 ish). They had just bought the property and before they could get the insurance all taken care of (red tape anyone), the entire place disappeared overnight. Nothing to even attempt to rebuild (I saw pictures). The main point is that they had no recourse to get their dream back. There was no 'fund' to help them. There were no 'government official's" hand-wringing over what to do to help give them back at least a chance of regaining their dream. I sure saw a lot of coverage about New Orleans and the devastation of the 'inner city' communities, but strangely nothing about them or the rest of the coast of 'Bama or Miss or anyone else for that matter. The bottom line point here is that people better get it out of their head that some all powerful, all knowing, 'just give us your money and we'll take care of everything', nanny state (with their lapdog media carnival barker's) will ever do more than try to retain, (and grow) their already absurd power. If it doesn't make good copy, they couldn't care less.

i think we may have some answers about where all that extra pork is going that held up the relief bill for millions who need help from the hurricane.  the answer, as usual, is that the ultra liberals had their hands out to get money and piggyback on the sandy victims who actually needed it.

and of course, by ultra liberals, i mean republicans, the worst kind of fiscal ultra liberal.
