#4 Posted: 8/10/2012 12:02:42 AM In early May,the Fresh Prince Will Smith explained why he supported the idea of paying higher taxes, saying,
"I have no issue with paying taxes and whatever needs to be done for my country to grow. I believe very firmly that my ability to sit here -- I'm a black man who didn't go to college, yet I get to travel around the world and sell my movies, and I believe very firmly that America is the only place on Earth that I could exist. So I will pay anything that I need to pay to keep my country growing."
The interviewer then said, “Do you know how much in France you would have to pay on earnings above 1 million euros [French President Francois Hollande's proposal]? Not 30 percent – 75 percent.”
At that point, Smith said, “75? Yeah, that's different, that's different. Yeah, 75. Well, you know, God bless America.” |

#9 Posted: 8/11/2012 10:49:00 AM Ktrain this post is about liberals moving to france,so they can have every thing they want. You go to school like millions of people in this country. The good news is walmart and dennys will hire a lot of those folks.1 out of 2 college grads can not get jobs. The only ones who are having luck with those degrees are the cream of the crop. Those are not my words those are the facts.Me and you just have different views of the world. You think things on the upswing and I am the flip side. The world is a mess and is going to get worst.Far left liberal views are a cancer. |

You're an idiot and you keep dodging the question I pose to you like a coward. You say it's ok for an average person to abandon their educational hopes to work a minimum wage job, yet when I ask you if you would give this advice to your own family you dodge the question. You won't even answer my question on what you think of how I currently make my living right now as well.
Since we last spoke I have started a work study program at the VA hospital at Long Beach as well. My work study pays me tax free money as well(although not very much). So I am currently working but still not paying any taxes on my income. What is your view on that? Any issues with that?
While 1 out of 2 college grads finding a job out of school is a terrible stat, you way only the cream of the crop are able to find jobs. I wouldn't say the top half of anything are the cream of the crop. I would say that encompasses the upper half of any group. Btw, according to you, about half of this upper half should quit school and settle for a minimum wage job as oppose to seeking higher education.
Far left liberal views are as much of a cancer for this country as far right conservative views were the rich get extremely wealthy at the expense of the poor masses. I like how everyone in here loves to point to Reaganomics as the high point of this country economically. Hell i'm sure it was great if you were born into the right situation. If you weren't though, the odds were greatly against you having any success in America. Btw, the national deficit nearly quadrupled under Reagan, mostly because of tax cuts for the rich and out of control military spending. Here I will even source my statement:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A26402-2004Jun8?language=printer
But you go ahead and keep on thinking everything wrong with this country should be blamed on liberals and their way of thinking. Conservatives never do anything wrong. Your God person Cheney already told you, as referenced in the article, that "deficits don't matter."
So if deficits don't matter than why is everyone in such an uproar about it? Why does this forum seem to care so much about any President, let alone a Democratic one, is running up a deficit? If the previous Republican Vice President says it doesn't matter than you should just do as he says......because that is what you Government wants you to do.
But you just go ahead and keeping making these vague claims about these "evil liberals" and you just go ahead and keep blaming them for everything wrong in America......even if you don't know what is wrong. You just keep doing what they want you to do and don't start thinking for yourself and questioning government motives. Because that is exactly what they want you do.

No I do have to insult you and you should really stop lying about your income level and its past history. You're not fooling anyone here. Stop dodging the questions I ask you or stop being a whiny little girl about everything.
For someone who claims to make a very healthy income and supposedly has for nearly the past 30 years, you sure care way to much about these "evil liberals". Not that I believe your line of b.s. anyway.
I would ask how you served this country but I'm sure I wouldn't get an honest answer from you anyway......or any answer for that matter.

CTS. 200k since 1985............
Was that entire post lies? I'm wondering if you even have kids at this point?
Liberal women. You act like women getting degrees and being an equal participant in the economy is a bad thing. You are an obvious idiot. This in not an opinion of mine, but something that is glaringly obvious.
Please indulge us with what industry would pay an uneducated imbecile 200k since 1985? |

#14 Posted: 8/12/2012 10:26:50 AM I live in the most liberal or rather Marxist country in the world (in your eyes anyway). The economic crisis has been a bump in the road here. Wonder why the most capitalistic empire (USA) in the world is coming down....
I am perfectly fine paying high taxes as I in return don't have to worry about healthcare, free college and daycare for my kids. It's called solidarity. You should try it instead of letting your big corporations decide everything. Land of the free - democracy - ha! |

#17 Posted: 8/13/2012 7:54:12 PM I have American friends that moved to France. They love it. It's not that easy to get citizenship though, so your premise is rather faulty.

#18 Posted: 8/14/2012 3:50:12 AM Cts, I have to thank you. I didn't think anyone could make me laugh as much as Esplanade in this forum. However, you have set the new standard for unintentional comedy. Thank you. |

#21 Posted: 8/14/2012 8:49:05 PM I am not dodging you questions. The freeloader question only you can answer. As far as my kids the 5 kids they are all grown up and all but 1 has a degree. He went to tech school and he is paying for it out of his pocket. The rest all had to get loans and have me pay for a lot of it.We did not qualify for the free school programs and aid.The Dennys issue, if you get a chance go back to last Sundays edition of 60 minutes and watch the segment on the jobless. You will better understand what I was trying to explain.

a) All you do is dodge everyone's questions and make vague claims about "evil liberals" even though these claims make no sense at all.
b) Link the 60 minutes clip for me if you want me to watch it.
c) If you have been making $200k/year since the 80's like you claim, you wouldn't have to take out college loans for your children.
d) I don't believe any of the garbage you post on here. |

Please keep calling me stupid. It's so funny coming from you.
You remind me of the retarded kid in the neighborhood that learns their very first insult and then proceeds to beat it into the ground.
Btw, you still haven't answered anyone's questions yet. And for the record, we all know you are signing anyone's checks.....because if you were, you would probably spell their names or dollar amount wrong anyway. |

#25 Posted: 8/15/2012 8:30:54 AM Ktrain, I'm not advocating either of your views but he's got you with the "dog in heat" bit. You just keep jumping at him. If you don't like what he's saying ignore it. Clearly neither of you is going to convince the other about anything involving politics. If you start your own thread and he attacks you then have at him but it's his thread what's the point? |
