One of the most important aspects of warfare is preserving the life of your own men, while killing those of the enemy. If the general risks the lives of his own men when a safer alternative exists, than that general is not acting the best interest. According to a 2009 study a UN report cited that there was a 28 % reduction in civilian causalities. "The true non-militant fatality rate since 2004 according to our analysis is approximately 21 %. in 2010 it was more like 6 %
In terms of Obama's foreign policy he's really done a fucking swell job.
Something Bush could never do. Obama has taken out Bin Laden as well
as other top terrorist leaders. I say continue to use these drones for covert missions

If you look at statistics though drones significantly reduce the number of civilian causalities and collateral damage obviously. They are really great technological advances. Being able to remote control one of these drones all the way from Nevada and taking out terrorist leaders as Obama has done to the Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders you would think that we should continue to use these drones for self defense without having to declare war.
For small scale operations they should certainly be of use to this country because self defense consists of tiny strikes, for example, covert CIA agents against terrorists yet not rising to the full sustaining fighting that would cross the legal threshold of a full scale war.

That's unrealistic to even fathom.... come on rick, if that ever did happen it wouldn't be for another couple centuries maybe even 500 years down the road.. You'll be long gone my friend int this lifetime we will never see anything like this.
I have a friend whose dad in Nevada who sells military equipment to PMC's and the government. This equipment is extremely efficient and significantly cheaper as well as highly effective

Austin -- This is a tough one. That much power in the hands of anyone is concerning for sure. But we are at war and have been for about a decade now. I am not sure what else we want. We can not have it both ways. If we can build an extremely advanced device such as this and it can be used to our advantage, than why not?

Many of the enemy are dressed in civilain attire and/or are civilians themselves. Drones are drones they can be equipped with lethal weapons in an afternoon. The point is that surveillance or otherwise there is about to be a shit-ton of them in our domestic airspace. It will be common to see them in your neighborhood. That is not misleading and not up for debate, they pose a serious fourth amendment violation. Plus they are expensive as fuck.
Maybe the first step in combating al Qaeda and Islamic militarism would be to stop funding and supporting them.
