He's nowhere near 240 pounds. He looks around 170-175 to me now.

Even if he has lost some weight since the incident...he couldnt have lost 60 pounds in only 45 days.

1:20 p.m. ET: Trayvon Martin's mother Sybrina Fulton, who said on the "Today" show early Thursday that she believed Zimmerman's fatal shooting of her son was an "accident," has retracted those comments.

I just heard that on cnn.

you better believe someone is in her ear right now and you'll see a " clarification " by the evening news.

the revised statement will hit all the bullet points;

Z ignored dispatcher / should have stayed in the van / house

T was " hunted down "

Z " murdered " T

" justice needs to be done "

and I am sure there will be more.
The " clarification " will be in written form, and it will look like it was prepaired by a lawyer

whether justified or not, taking somebody's life has to weigh heavily on a person

I doubt he has eaten much or slept much

What makes you so sure it was purely a gaffe. Perhaps she was speaking from her heart? Until of course the legal experts told her it wasn't ok to speak from her heart in the future.

Do you know how our legal system works?  The case is going to be decided on the evidence presented IN THE COURT ROOM, not on the musings of some person, even if she is his mom.  She doesn't have the first clue as to what kind of evidence or case the prosecution even has.

And cases aren't decided on what someone says "from their heart." And thank goodness for that.

What would it even matter what her "heart" says.  She wasn't there and hasn't spoken to anyone that was, and likely doesn't know the evidence any more than what we do.  Plus, nobody thinks it was an "accident".  That's not even Zimmerman's defense.  If the shooting was an accident that would be something like the gun going off inadvertantly.  Nobody thinks that happened.  Obviously what she meant was that it was an "accident" that they even crossed paths that night, although accident obviously isn't the proper term.  She just misspoke.  It happens.  Again, in the end, it's meaningless.  Will never become evidence in any fashion.

Slow down turbo!

I never suggested that the prosecutors use her statement.

Just noted that it was very interesting.

Thanks for jumping to that conclusion though.

One day after George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder, Trayvon Martin's mother said she believes her son's killing was an “accident.”

"I believe that it just got out of control," Sybrina Fulton told NBC's "Today" show on Thursday. "And [Zimmerman] couldn't turn the clock back."

Fulton told host Ann Curry she wanted Zimmerman to apologize for fatally shooting her son, and ticked off a list of questions she wished she could ask the 28-year-old volunteer watchman.

"I would ask him, did he know that [Trayvon] was a minor, that he was a teenager, that he did not have a weapon," Fulton said.

"I would ask him that I understand his family is hurting, but think about our family that lost our teenage son," she said, her voice quaking with emotion.

"I'm sure his parents can pick up the phone to call him, but we can't pick up the phone to call Trayvon anymore."

Later on Thursday, Fulton released a statement to MSNBC saying, "in NO way did I mean the shooting was an accident."

“We believe that George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood. The 'accident' I was referring to was the fact that George Zimmerman and my son ever crossed paths. It was an accidental encounter,” Fulton's statement said.

I just find it interesting that she could go from red to blue and end up not meaning what she said in red to begin with. WTF?

The later explaination of her meaning for 'accident' fell short.

There is nothing to suggest that Zimmerman intended to shoot Trayvon from the beginning. If that was the case he wouldn't have called 911 on himself.

The " clarification" that I predicted would be coming now is an accusatory tone.

Her original heartfelt statement has now been corrupted by lawyers and handlers
