It’s not exactly like the lone star state is hurting finically.  Texas is in much better shape than most other states right now.  But then, I guess that’s what can be expected when you have conservatives running the show.

sorry but i know all about how the supporters of things like this come out and full force and the people who dont want it stay at home.  Supporters of these type of things usually keep have vote after vote until they wear down the people who are against it.

Why is it a waste of taxpayer money?  How many jobs is this going to create?  Engineers and Architects to design, Contractors to build, then you have all the materials and the manufacturing of the materials, plus the trucking in of the materials and that is just to build it.

Once completed, it will be a source of pride for the community, and may boost school spirit which can enhance the desire for some students to stay in school.  There will be increased tax revenue for the community as people drive in from other districts and watch games and buy gas, treats, stay for dinner and that is just for high school football games.

The bond issue also included the construction of a performing arts complex.  The previous year they passed a bond issue to pay for 2 new schools and 45 busses.

 If the people of Allen want it and are willing to pay for it then good for them, after all it is their money.

About 4 years ago, a 75 million high school complex was built in north Houston. It's better than most college football stadiums. The basketball arena holds 20,000 I want to say. Granted this is 60 mil just towards a football stadium, but that's just Texas
