This is going to be the biggest mistake our country has ever made. You really got to be brain dead to believe that the govt is going to lower the cost of healthcare by running it You think we pay alot now thru the insurance companies, just wait until our own govt rapes the piss out of us. I just want all the liberals here to remember this when it happens.

I know one thing i wouldnt hire you as my lawyer even for a traffic ticket, being as how you are uncapable of seeing how bad this bill truly is.

Actually as an ambulance chaser, he probably has a lot of experience with traffic tickets. I just wouldn't trust him with anything more significant.
This is a really bad day for this once great country. We've been in decline as a nation for some time, but this could be one of the final straws. The election of this Marxist ass clown with all his readily apparent negative traits was the writing on the wall as to just how far the sensibilities of this country have fallen. I'm not sure that there will or can be a rebound from this. Prepare to pay taxes like you've never seen before and do WITHOUT medical care. The rationing will eventually be insane, the abuse unreal, and the 'service' going to those losers who have been gaming the system for a long time.

Today is a winning day for the liberals who want to ruin the country with all their whacked out ideas, family and friends of the politicians for all the jobs they will now get in the healthcare business, the lawyers and finally the lazy leeches who will now get free healthcare even thou most have never worked a day in their lives to earn healthcare
The cost of healthcare once govt gets its hands on it will make the increases the insurance company was charging look like childs play. Everybody will soon be saying, man i wish i had my regular insurance back again. Just wait until the illegals flood the doctors office, hope you can wait a few months for your appt if your sick

cd - even if this does pass, it doesnt take effect until 2014. our country's government will collapse before then...as soon as china decides they've had enough. maybe one more xmas season for them
from a friend on another board on this bill:
This is a major mess to put it in PG terms. I have a background in
benefits administration and know quite a bit about health insurance.
Two
things are certain: (1) premium prices will go up for all of us and (2)
many states will take a kick to the gut when they are hit with the huge
cost of all the new Medicaid enrollees.
J6P will cry foul when
he ends up paying even more for insurance. States will sink under the
new expenses and have to make cuts in other areas like education or
raise taxes.
Seriously, does anyone think states can afford to pay for millions of new suckers?
The
advice to "choose your state carefully" is very true. Now is the time
to move somewhere with a low rate of
Medicaid/diabetes/smoking/illegals,etc. Especially since personal
responsibility is nowhere to be found in this so called reform.
Yes,
I said illegals. Once millions of illegals reach the end of the
glorious "path to citizenship" that is being proposed, they will
qualify for $5,000+ per person (or whatever the bill ends up saying) in
gov't subsidy to pay their premiums. Yeah! Or they will just shift 'em
all to Medicaid.
The total lack of understanding from our
leadership regarding this bill is sickening (but not unexpected). The
consequences are going to be realized in so many ways that our heads
will spin.

cd.... you mentioned Lawyers, if you check I'm guessing that 95% of the Dem.s are lawyers. So, what did you expect???
I was expecting some of them to have a soul, but boy was i wrong.
Lawyers have ruined our country for years and now they are going to help to finally destroy our great country once and for all. I really cant wait until this bill creates a bigger cost for health insurance premuims, then all these whinning little liberals will finally realize they made a mistake and should have use a little common sense when deciding about this bill, instead of jsut being brain washed by pelosi and reid

sorry but you and all your lawyer buddies are going to make out bigtime with this bill and thats a fact, thats the reason this current scum democrat party left out tort reform, even if it only was a 10 percent savings like you want us all to believe.
Oh and for the record, theres no place to hide at a building fire. Maybe i should have went to college and became a lawyer, that way i could be getting some cash off this health bill now, then again that wouldnt be possible considering i actually still have my soul and wouldnt want to give it up.
Even if you dont profit from this bill, thousands of your fellow lawyer buddies will and truthfully that make me sick to my stomach. Lawyers once again screwing this country over.

You keep saying that lawyers, as in plural, are going to make out and it just isn't true. The bill doesn't change current med mal law, so if anything, it remains status quo, with the exception of the current ability of states to continue to institute med mal screening panels. Additionally, only about 5% of lawyers do med mal cases. If anything, lawyers would be adversely effected because of the increase in individual taxes.
Your hatred of an entire group reminds me of the thought process of people who kill abortion doctors. Both disconcerting and sad. The measure of any invidual is who they are, not what they do. You know nothing about who I am, other than my views to which you disagree.

Coming from the guy who lied about the school he allegedly graduated from, I take this as a compliment.
Where's the compliment?? I graduated from one of the top B schools in this country (not Canada and not some other place where you can't differentiate your ass from your elbow), you are chasing ambulances and a GED. Where's the lie, doofus?? All I see are repeatedly ignorant suggestions by you.

You've been caught lying about this on many occasions. I'm sorry that you are so insecure in your intellect that you make stuff up. I think you are intelligent, even though we disagree.

First off DJ am not even talking about the medical mal practice law, but lest get one fact perfectly clear because like the good lawyer you are just happened to leave this out. When you add 40 million people to the insurance rolls, your going to have very lot of new medical mal practice cases, which will be a friggin money bonanza for your fellow lawyer buddies, {which could have been controlled some what if the damn politicians would have added tort reform to the bill} so to sit here nad say lawyer arent going to make out on this bill is pure lawyer bs.
Secondly what i was rtalking about with this bill and how lawyers were going to make out, is by the thousands of new lawyers that will now be on the govt payroll, which they will need to manage all the damn depts this medical bill is going to create. I believe it was posted that there was going to be something like 100 and something differnt boards, all of which will need their own team of lawyers to handle the millions and millions of people that will be on the govt plan. Plain and simple this bill is a friggin goldmine for your lawyer buddies and you can try to say its not all you want, but we both know what the truth is.
I wonder what it feels like to give up your souls when you enter law school

Well, apparently you are talking about med mal cases since that is your point. As I said, the number of lawyers who do med mal are minimal. It is an extremely specialized area. Even if there was an increase in such lawsuits, the overall affect of bill would costs lawyers in new taxes. Keep in mind that many states, including mine, have enacted screening panels that limit claims.
As far as thousands of new lawyers, I doubt it. The jobs you are referring to won't be high paying and most lawyers are saddled with high debt. Government jobs, unless they accompany a loan forgiveness program, usually don't pay enough to make ends meet.
But I do agree that the bill will create new jobs. Just another reason for supporting it.

lmfaooooooooooooooooooooooooooo your so funny and so full of crap at the same time. Your answer was the typical lawyer response that i was expecting to try and make you appear right. Well the fact is you are dead wrong on both counts. 40 million people added to the system is going to create lots and lots of new lawsuits, to sit here and try to say it wont be that many more lawsuits, is complete bullshit. MAYBE IF THE DEMOCRATS PUT TORT REFORM IN THE BILL IT WOULD BE DIFFERNT.
As far as new jobs, i highly doubt the lawyers wont be making great money taking care of all the depts this bill will create.
Bravo thousands of new jobs to family and friends of the politicians Just what the govt needs more people working for the govt at tax payer expense in a dept that is not needed Thousands of new lawyer jobs, for dj's buddies
This bill is a big pile of crap. People will now have the cost of their medcial insurance added to their incomes to figure out what their taxes will be Bravo great job. So a person with a 15k insurance policy and making 25k a year will suddenly be paying taxes on 40k Thats one huge tax hit for people. They will be wishing they could just go back to having their medical insurance premiums raised. Pretty sweet right dj, but our govt is looking out for us thou

40 million more people getting insurance = more lawsuits = higher insurance costs for doctors = more doctors getting out of the business = longer wait times to see a doctor, along with higher insurance costs.
There are doctors now who are getting out of the business due to the high cost of mal practice insurance, can you imagine whats gonna happen with 40 million more people added to the roles
sounds like a great plan
