Why didn't you vote for Ron Paul?

I&#x27;m bored so I will ask this question.  Why didn&#x27;t you vote for Ron Paul?  Give me some of his views and philosophies you don&#x27;t agree with and some of the views and philosophies of the candidate you support so I can help you see the error of your ways.  After all, Chuck Norris supports Ron Paul, so why don&#x27;t you?Ron Paul has no alarm clock, but instead wakes every morning to the call of freedom.

How do you think Ron Paul will change things? How would anything he does get past Congress or the Senate?&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;He may have great ideas, but you are niave to think that the majority of them will get passed.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;if you want things to change you need to have the balance of power in Senate and Congress. Look at nations around the world where coalitions are formed or minor parties hold the balance of power. Having a man like Ron Paul in office will make things worse, not better. Every little thing will be a stalemate, and the houses will not pass anything until things are changed into their favour. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;If you guys want your "revolution" it&#x27;s not going to start in the White House.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;He may be better then McCain and Obama, but this is the real world

True power is in Congress.  It certainly would not of hurt to have Ron Paul as President.  It would have been a nice message.  Glad to see we are on the same page.

Second,&#xD;&#xA;If a large number of individuals vote for Ron Paul like in 1992 when 19% of the population voted for Perot, it will force Obama or McCain to move towards the true majority. The problem is voters have been so proned to believe that a third party is fringe and crazy...and it doesn&#x27;t matter what they vote, a third party candidate will never get elected. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy and it needs to stop. &#xD;&#xA;Also, do not say that ktropp is naive because he is going to exercise his vote against the two party system and for who he believes will actually change things. If everyone did this, instead of allowing the two party system to control them, maybe something will change. But we, me included, are challenged by apathy and distrust of the political apparatus.&#xD;&#xA;I cheers you kt.

I will on Election Dayand I live in the real world...and I choose to cast my vote for him....and I am certainly NOT a college student....but still have one in college and have two kids long out of college.....naive............LOLObama...MCCain...that is the best these two &#x27;parties&#x27; can do?.....give me the honesty of Ron Paul ...PERIODthe others have NO CLUE as to the meaning of the word!vote for a man you can RESPECT......not full of bullshit and snake oil and lord knows what kind of $$$$$ backing.....RON PAUL for me.......at least I KNOW we are in for at least 4 more years of pain no matter which one of the two wins....

Indeed he is pro-life, but he does not believe he has the power as President to enforce a law to make abortion illegal.  He thinks it should be left up to the states to decide.

McCain does not equal less government, at least not to level it should be at.  I don&#x27;t know why you would even say Pro America as one of his stances.  I&#x27;ll have to see his change in energy policies to believe them.  We don&#x27;t need to drill for oil, we need to go straight to alternative fuels.  Obama is far from anti military as he said he wants more troops in Afghanistan and said he will invade Iran or Pakistan if he needs to.  Obama actually lowers the taxes on the working man.  What is it that you don&#x27;t like about Ron Paul?  That was the first part of the question.

i like ron paul, but he has no chance of winning, he also wants to remove our military presence throughout the world and is too passive defensively for my liking. making the states select their own abortion laws is a cop-out and will never work

Ron Paul is very much for a strong national DEFENSE.  Why do we have troops policing the entire world?  Those troops are the main cause for the financial crisis we are in right now.  We kept spending money we didn&#x27;t have for miliarty purposes, which led to debt and inflation.  This is the same thing that happened to the Roman Empire and it will happen to us too if we don&#x27;t start to live within our means.  We are really hurting our national security by having troops around the world.  If we weren&#x27;t out policing the world, 9/11 would not have happened.  Why do you think abortion being decided at the state level wouldn&#x27;t work?  I think and issue like that should be decided by the people of a more local area and not by one government over a very large area.

I forgot to talk about the alternative fuels. Electric cars and hemp are two available fuels off the top of my head. Well actually hemp is illegal to grow in the United States. Now that I think about it, the problem I have with oil is not that people use it in their cars, but that it is the reason we support tyrants and dictators around the world. We need to stop supporting evil for oil. This is another reason we were attacked on 9/11.

[/Quote]I guess I should have been clearer.  I didn&#x27;t mean that Obama wants more troops overall, just more in Afghanistan.  I agree that what we have done in the Middle East is wrong.  Both our foreign policy and economic policy is what will lead to our demise if we don&#x27;t change our ways.

This is really what people who didn&#x27;t vote for Ron Paul usually say.  It&#x27;s a shame.  I think if all the people who actually wanted Ron Paul to win voted for him, he would have made a much bigger impact on this election.  But really when you think about it, we are probably in the majority.  When you add up all the 3rd party candidate supporters (Barr, Baldwin, McKinney, Nader), the apathetic voters who don&#x27;t vote because they don&#x27;t like Democrats or Republicans, and the voters who vote for the "lesser of two evils", you get a large amount of people who are against the two-party dictatorship.
