Rezko. Hey, we live in a politics noir world. Everybody's at least a little bit dirty. I don't care who you are or what party you belong to. Even JFK got dirty help in Chicago. Grow up and get over it. The Bush family built their wealth helping the Nazis back in the day.
The Reverend thing is the most troubling because of the history. It could have been a deal breaker for me. But Obama did the right thing, first by distancing himself and then throwing Wright under the bus. I've got no problems with the tire tracks up and down Wright's back. You never had a friend you had cut out of your life or a business relationship that you had to cut? Happens all the time. If you ever get rich or famous you'll be surprised at how fast some of the closest people in your life turn into huge assholes who try leverage your success for their own benefit.
None of these are mortal wounds. Obama's value at putting together a strong political organization, building strong coalitions of influential people in and out of Washingtion, his phenomenal fundraising ability and his broad appeal make him the best chance for the Democrats to bring down the curtains on the disaster that the Republicans have given us for the last eight years.

I know this may sound crazy to you, but believe it or not, a lot of people care if a man running for president is, according to his own campaign, “friendly” with an admitted terrorist who bombed the Capitol building, New York Police headquarters, and the pentagon.

You have a major factual error in your response regarding Reverend Wright. Obama did not first distance himself from Wright. He first tried to play it down and say the media was blowing it way out of proportion. He said “I could no longer disown Reverend Wright anymore than I could disown the black community.” He also went on The View and said the media was just taking the worst things Wright said and taking them out of context.
It wasn’t until Wright went on his world tour and said the exact same anti-American statements he has been saying for decades, that Obama decided to distance himself.
The FACT remains that Obama sat in that man’s church for over 20 years listening to this hate-filled anti-American trash. Oprah left that church. Why didn’t Obama?
Even though I disagree with you and feel that these associations (among other things) make Obama the most dangerous man to ever have a legitimate shot at the White House, at least you had the balls to come up with some kind of answer (though containing factual errors). That’s more than I can say about any of the liberals I know.
