Well, I'm sure this will go over like a "lead zeppelin" with "the public" (which is exactly why it'll end up being very, very right over time),  so here is what I'm doing today:

GETTING LONG THE US DOLLAR

I'll post exactly what I did today later on.....won't have time to post today.

So yep, go ahead and start with the ridicule, call me an idiot, yadda yadda yadda.......and then we'll see what happens.

I sure as hell am not an expert in anything, but when people with whom I work (the common man/peanut gallery/john q 401 k----sqaure) are spending parts of each day beating up the US dollar with snide comments), then I know it's time to get contrary.

To clarify a few things:

This GETTING LONG THE US DOLLAR today ain't no "day trade."  This will be initiated today with the a first scale, followed by maybe a few more on down the line.  And when the full long position is filled, then that will be all.

There are so many freakin' yo-yos out there right now piling on with all the other US dollar haters that I am positive that this trend is going to reverse.  Yeah, for sure, there are many smart people out there currently short the US dollar, but the vast majority of those smart people got short a very long time ago, and many of those same smart people are closing positions.  Let's face it, the time to get short the US dollar was a long time ago when doing so was totally under the radar.  And, now, it's time to get long the US dollar, since most would call me an idiot for doing so.

I don't think you are nuts, I mean how low can it go really? Long term, however, the USD, like the US fortunes in war, goes down.

This was a quote about the art market but I think It applies to the USD and beyond:

"for the first time in at least two hundred years the Western world doesn't make the decisions about our future."

I got those DITM options and the MMs are sucking out all the premium.

Stock up about 12 from where I bot the options and the options are up 9.

Taking LESS risk isnt half the fun.

The November 120s are a 5 bagger today and the 130s are a 6 bagger.

Go figure..

Yeah I tried the over and I should have hedged at halftime..what a joke. Had Ball St so it was a push though.

SPWR is high energy high beta for sure..goes down 50 in two days and up 15 the next. Tough to take a fat loss on the options, just to see them rebound. Still odds are against a play like that working out of course.

Chill R chill...Xanax is preferred for vertigo anyway...

I was kicking myself in the ass for not scooping up more CRDC at 6.99 or whatever it got to.Had other issues to attend to, but what the heck.

By the way, I recommend a dose of Ben Berbanke if you ever need to fall asleep. Not quite the monotone of Greenspam, but close enough.

Watched Duke closely the other night. They may be underrated for a change...gonna be tough sledding around Chapel Hill and Durham this year...what a surprise.

So did they hit the over? (Duke) I was reading that people thought a small lineup meant more scoring..

Not sure WSC did  ot bet it so wasn't on the total or anything. But they have shooters..Scheyer comes off the bench at scored over 20...they can score, still not the most athletic team but they are better after getting rid of McRoberts

I don't like em either that's why I keep an eye on them. Brother went to Carolina... he had the "distinction"of being destroyed by Charlie Scott in freshman ball.

That being said, Kyle Singler of Duke (6'8" frosh) looks like a large version of Chris Mullen.Real nice touch. But Duke is vulnerable down low.New Mexico State was terrible however.

Big turn in the higher beta stocks again.

FSLR with a 15 plus point turn, now negative. DRYS with an 11 pt turn and strongly negative. GOOG with a 30 pt turn and strongly negative.

It is obvious there will probably be some selling sessions down the road in the near future.

Buyers are turning into sellers very quickly.

Yep..

still a TON of weakness out there, no doubt about it.

These kind of moves today sure smell like 2002 when they run it up on light volume early and pound it into the ground to close..
