His bank is in much better shape than some of his counterparts (Wells Fargo, Citi, BofA, etc.) Remember, he pantzed the Fed into selling Bear Sterns at a ridiculous price . Not many companies were "buyers" during the Financial Crisis.

It comes with the position though, all of those guys are monetary killers and would slit your throat to make an extra buck. He takes full advantage of his position when it comes to dealing with regulators and the government, I think he is a total crook myself.

"Many believe the 2008 recession was caused by lax banking regulations (no garbage) in the United States while Canada fared much better because of tighter controls of the financial industry." which is WHY Canada is one of the more SOLID economies right now.
