#2 Posted: 12/13/2011 1:23:25 AM The film is a remake of the 2009 Swedish adaptation of the award-winning, critically acclaimed Millennium books trilogy.
The original starred Michael Nyqvist, who plays Blomkvist, and Noomi Rapace, as Salander, and was made into a trilogy and all three films were released within nine months.

#10 Posted: 12/14/2011 8:45:31 PM I don't see the point in remaking these movies, the original trilogy came out about a couple years ago and was excellent. |

#11 Posted: 12/15/2011 4:12:10 PM Obviously the point is to make money. For those of us that do not like subtitles and know only one language I really appreciate these being remade in English , can't wait.
Hopefully the remakes will be somewhat close to the original in quality.

Not knowing much about the trilogy or any info about the books, I really enjoyed this movie.
2 hours and 40 minutes is kind of long, but I recommend it |

#14 Posted: 1/3/2012 7:45:39 PM Read somewhere that she has family ties with two NFL icons. I think on her mothers side theirs Rooney blood, Pitt Steelars, and on her fathers., Mara blood, obviously the New York Giants.

I heard a lot about the rape scene as well. Amazing how people can be so desensitized to murder and even torture, but when it comes to rape it's like the most taboo thing ever. Look at the Saw movies etc...
I'd take a raping before getting murdered. In fact, I'd take a dozen rapes before a murder.

#24 Posted: 4/19/2012 5:14:18 AM Very good movie, both versions. I liked the ending a lot better in the new one. And the rape scene was definitely intense, but it really did well for developing the girl's character...if anything it should serve to scare the crap out of would-be-rapists and seem empowering rape victims...I bet ya **spoiler** tattoo gun sales spiked after the movie was released...
