Well, I will keep this one short and sweet. Scottish has run out of ideas. Robinson is a good coach, a better-than-good coach. A passionate man with a great sense of the rugby game about him and a true love for his adopted Scottish brothers. However, the Scots seem to lack that instinct necessary to proffer off such a leader like Robinson.
The only Scotsman in the recent backline who had those necessary skills was Chris Paterson, the greatest kicker in European history. His backline organization skills and defense-stacking was second-to-none, especially considering the group of talent he was forced to work with. Just how many times were Scotland getting their garbage stuffed in, and here comes CP in as a 60th Minute sub, and viola! just like that Scotland dots down a try off a turnover ball, locks down on defense, attracts penalties, and makes a game of it. Hadden was a total twat who was benching one of the greatest players and rugby minds on the continent. Will never forget that French match when Scotland was getting trampled and here comes in CP with 18 to go. Within five minutes, Scotland rallied for two tries set up by massive boots by Paterson, and a full-field chase down tackle into turnover ball by the man himself.....and with 10 to play, France is screaming on the backfoot with the Scots bleeding for the win.
Outrageous.
He will be missed.
And now Scotland shall be dealt Laidlaw, who showed immediate spark off the bench against the English. Yet, the jury is still out on him, as it should be.
The Welsh will keep this game simple. Stretch the ball wide, keep it out of the middle, where the Scots will try to bog them down, and look for quick responce on turnover ball, which due to weather or not, the Scots were more than happy to grant the English last weekend.
In a nutshell, the Welsh strength is their backline. Fluid, nimble, and highly opportunistic. This spells doom for a proud Scottish side which will want to quiet the game down in order to keep it in hand.
Unfortunately, that won't be this weekend.
Wales -12.5 @ $1.90

#30 Posted: 2/11/2012 1:30:05 PM Well, hip hip hoooooray! Finally hit on an Italian match! Hahahaha!
And I realized that in my haste to post the matches, that I forgot to recommend a skip on a ITALY/ENGLAND HT/FT wager at $8.50. Annnnnnnnnd.....I wake up to see exactly just that has occurred.

Damn't.
Hahaha....
And it always goes without saying that the Total Points Under in any England or Italy match is always the play. Hahaha....

#34 Posted: 2/11/2012 3:35:38 PM The Six Nations Championship fixture
between France and Ireland has been postponed minutes before kick-off
due to freezing conditions in Paris.
The decision was taken at 20:50 (local time) after several areas
down the sidelines were deemed too hard, with 80,000 fans left
disappointed.
Stade de France had passed a pitch inspection earlier in the
evening, but rapidly froze as temperatures dropped in the French
capital.
English referee Dave Pearson, who had earlier given the match the
go-ahead, informed both teams of the postponement after frantic late
efforts to make the pitch playable failed.
When news broke of the decision, the sell-out crowd reacted by
booing in what is the first Six Nations match to be postponed for 25
years.
A new date for the fixture was not announced.
---
Yep, there it is. Just watch. An amazing turn-of-events....a 25-year fluke, is gonna be the reason France loses the 6Nations.
You watch.
It's guaranteed now. On hands and wallets on deck for Wales to Win the 6Nations. Bet it now. Don't wait until this very post it QUOTED WEEKS FROM NOW with the addendum of "I told you all so!!!"

#37 Posted: 2/12/2012 12:09:22 AM Bloody morons knew the cold spell was coming in, yet refused to move the game to the afternoon or even to Sunday, which will be about 10-15 degrees warmer.
Idiots. Now Ireland and France are staring now the barrel of four back-to-back rounds.

Going to be a strange weekend with both Ireland and France with pent-up emotions after last week's debacle. How will they come out?

#44 Posted: 2/25/2012 1:03:10 AM The first match of the Round sees the Italians travel to Aviva to take on the "manic agression" Irish in what should be a one-way affair.
The line has now settled in at -16.5 for the hosts after opening as low as -13.5 in some markets.
Going to be honest here. You never know what you are going to get with the Italians, especially away from Rome. In addition, the Irish have had an unexpected week off and it is hard to gauge how this will affect them. While all hands on deck should be ready and willing to give the Italians a thrashing, I see no value in the now inflated line.
This match is a pass.
If you must play this, then the lean is FIRST SCORE: IRELAND PENALTY GOAL at $2.80 as there is absolutely no value on any other markets in this match.

#45 Posted: 2/25/2012 1:21:47 AM The second match of the day is the most exciting match of the round and has, no doubt, been making mouths drool for two weeks now.
Gatland and the Welsh crew travel to London to take on Lancaster's men in what could seal the Triple Crown for the Welshmen.
Line has been pretty stable around Wales -3 since opening.
As a disclaimer, I am HUGE on Wales for the Triple Crown as a cheeky hedge against my France for the Six Nations bet.
Looking at England's past two results, their record stands at 2-0, but good have as easily been 0-2.....and that to the two perennial doormats of the tournament. Scotland absolutely dominated them, and if it wasn't for a Parks kick being charged down, the Scots may have well walked away winners.
Last round, I fancied the Italians being up at Half, which they were, but seeing their usual second half collapse, gifted England the victory.
Wales is a different story.
If Scotland had a cohesive backline, they would have won by 20+. I have never seen so many unmarked wings and centres in international test matches in my life as I did in that tie. See previous post on this match for further details. Add in the willingness and ability of the Italians to move the ball on the outside (!!!) and you see the difficulty England is going to have against Wales.
Lancaster noticed this defensive breakdown in consecutive rounds as well, and in doing so, has drafted in some new names for this match.
Good news?
Not this round.
One thing that makes the modern-day Welsh side so strong is their cohesiveness. An ability to play without thinking, knowing what the others are doing, and acting upon that. While England have drafted in some new names to counterbalance their lack of defensive discipline, they will lose that cohesiveness that was not even there to begin with.
In addition, the key to stopping the gutsy Welsh attack is a strong midfield. I repeat: A STRONG MIDFIELD.
Here's what England are bringing to the party:
Robshaw at 7, Morgan at 8, Dickson at 9, and Farrell at 10.
MINCE MEAT.
A side might be able to compensate for this deficiency if their backline had, as a strength to it, a defensive posture. England's backline, full of burners, ex-sevens players, imports, and undisciplined runners will be a liability for their midfield.
With the Welsh propensity to play an odd one wing out, one wing in attacking formation, setting up for advantageous turn of events and to cause confusion in the opponent's defensive structure, this match will be a nightmare for the English when they do not have possession of the ball.
This match is shaping up only one way: Welsh Domination.
While the scoreline might not be as wide-open as one might expect, this is Northern Hemisphere rugby after all, with slow-ball, forward slugs, and general English malaise in getting the break-downs moving, have no question marks that Wales will control this match from start to finish.
Wales -2.5 @ $1.90
is the banker of the weekend and of the 2012 Six Nations, so far.

#48 Posted: 2/25/2012 1:34:49 AM Our final match of the round sees France traveling to Murrayfield to take on a re-energized Scottish group.
Again, not much to say with this match as the cancelled tie between the French and Irish will leave doubts as to what that will mean for both of these sides.
As for the French, it could be a blessing in disguise as they have not had much time under their new caretaker and have been busy with a hectic domestic season as well.
That being said, the line of -6.5 for the French is rather juicy. It should be a rather drab affair as the Scots will be playing the ball in the front forwards for minutes at a time trying to slow the game down and shorten its length. France will get frustrated by this, commit unlikely turnover ball and penalties, and Scotland will fail to take advantage as usual.
This match should not be hyper exciting viewing, even though most France v. Scotland ties are usually very interesting affairs.
I still cannot see the Scots scoring a try on this day, and with that said, am looking only one way here:
FRANCE -6.5 @ $1.90
