When back checking systems does anyone ever consider how many games in that system ended like today's game?

I'm sure games have also been lost the same way.

I agree.

I like using systems because they are strictly objective. But man...The ML chases in MLB (and the NHL) are not for the faint of heart.

Yet, Detroit has been -175, -190, -170 and -200 today.

Just something to ponder for down the road.  If anyone has thoughts, let's hear them.

There were a lot more teams that qualified this year than what is the norm.  If you've noticed, it seems that most of the struggles this season have come when teams are matched up with other teams that are also part of the system.  The only exception was OAK against HOU, I believe.  I feel that's been the biggest difference this season, and the reason for a lot more B, C, and D games.

Finally clear out the Tigers on Game 4.

2013 Record -- 23-0
Game 1 wins -- 12
Game 2 wins -- 8
Game 3 wins -- 1
Game 4 wins -- 2

Record since started tracking in 1999 is 474-0
459 wins within first three games.  Haven't been past a Game 4 since 2007.

Athletics start Friday against Rays. After causing us problems in Detroit, Oakland is now bound to cause some more headaches.
