#612 Posted: 11/1/2009 1:46:58 PM It's disappointing because he said his work for was documentation purposes also(well I know his Baseball thread was, I'm not sure about football). But even if it fails, it's still learning and it's still knowledge. It's learning that something doesn't work and adjusting to it. Something I wish the Giants D would learn to do right now.
IMO, I believe you can never learn enough about a subject and I love the fact that we are having productive discussion about wagering systems and different philosophies on wagering.
However, there is a lot of bull garbage and name calling that goes on in the thread. And SN is as big a contributor of that as anyone else in here.
It's not classy to become defensive the very moment someone asks a reasonable question to obtain knowledge from you. I hope this thread continues with the productive posts that have came on here and not with the bickering. BOL everyone. |

#614 Posted: 11/1/2009 4:56:05 PM I hope that is the case, that he is only taking a break. But even if he was I think he would come in here and say so. It would be the right thing to do if this is for documentation purposes. Even if there aren't any plays he likes or if he is rattled, he should at least come in and make note of it in the thread.
Personally, I think all the b.s. and clutter in here detoured him from pursuing this any further.
I'm not trying to steal this thread but doesn anyone have any thoughts or insight for the Sunday Night or Monday Night games? I mean, after all, this is still a football thread. |

That could be the answer right there. I hope you're wrong though.
I played Baltimore -3, Jac O20.5 & Oak U14

#616 Posted: 11/1/2009 6:38:21 PM I hope i'm wrong too. I would like to see this thing follow thru til the end. It would be a shame to stop the thread one third of the way thru the season.
I hate laying double digits to anyone in the NFL but I have a hard time laying of the Saints tomorrow night.
Well Best of luck to everyone here. |

#620 Posted: 11/1/2009 10:52:54 PM Well now all of the self appointed regulators whose mission it was to protect the ignorant from the evil sN--give your selves a big hand!
Congratulations for a job well done.
You got rid of that dishonest rip off, sN.
Thanks for nothing.

#622 Posted: 11/2/2009 12:23:47 AM I just think the math caught up with him all in one bad weekend. Let's face it, even SN admitted that most teasers lose in the beginning of this thing. And I'm sure all of us know that eventually 3:1 and 4:1 favorites will eventually lose. Otherwise we would all be rich. It just all caught up with him in one bad weekend.
I do wish SN would respond to legit questions with a lot less hostility than he does(check the baseball thread if you disagree with that statement). Anytime legit questions come up about unit play he becomes very defensive and insulting.
With that being said, I would still like to see this thing seen thru to the end of the season. We have all had bad weekends. Math catches up with everyone eventually. To have one bad weekend isn't failing. But giving up on the whole thing, is failing. |

To summarize this thread in very basic terms......a man claiming to be a professional handicapper who ran a MLB thread but never once posted his units wagered and simply claimed success without a single piece of justifiable evidence, decided to run an NFL thread. Except this time he decided to actually post his units so a 3rd party could track his success. It took him less than half the season to start making very large units wagers (38 on one game), start losing, and the completely quit.........and people are mad that he has stopped posting?
Quick side note I admittedly tailed his picks for 2-3 weeks during the MLB thread. I am not proud of it but I did. In those 2-3 weeks he never once posted his units, but he sent private messages to many people indicating he was betting 8 units on RLs, 2-4 on MLs, 6 on 1st 5 innings, and 2 on Over Unders. Of course he also claimed that it changed daily but never once explained that. My point is this..........in my 2 or 3 weeks tailing SN I played the MM noted above and lost large sums of money, while at the same time SN was claiming large gains. One days he was 3-1 he was claiming 20 units won. On days he was 1-3 he was claiming 2 units lost. I am telling you I read that post EVERY DAY, and it was amazing how ridiculous his claims were. And don't even get me started on the lines he was claiming he found. It was out of control.
Don't get me wrong I wanted him to continue this NFL thread because I wanted to see his total hole after 17 weeks, but I sure as hell didn't expect to learn anything or make any money following his picks.
And if someone wants to say that they are learning something from SN, please tell me what you learned? He never once gave advice for handicapping football, he simply said we need to understand the game, how it changes minute to minute, and that we need to watch 50 hours of game film.
My point is this....I enjoyed reading this thread too and I like to hear many different sources each week before I make my picks. But there are a lot of tailers out there who believed SN's bs (me during MLB season), who stood to lose a lot of money. This person never once generated proven success, so why should anyone be eager to get his advice on a game? |

OK, would you please direct me to the thread or threads where only the winners are picked. Any sport or sports on which the books offer odds will suffice.
