I am probably going to sit this one out, wait to see what Detroit looks like after the rest time... Oh hell, who am I kidding - I am going to take Verlander and the Tigers - but this is strictly a homer bet, I wouldn't care if it was Jose Mercedes pitching for SF.

I thought he was human too until i saw him hit 101 on the gun in the 9th inning vs. the yankees. The 9th inning... Granted i expect this scrappy sf lineup to give him more fits than the pathetic yankees lineup did, but no way is he giving up more than 3 runs, and if zito struggles like he sometimes does it could get really ugly.

Not condoning blowing ur wad on any one game though which is just silly on the road. I like the tigers for a normal size bet, i dont see a ton of value in overbetting a team on the road that has been on ice for a week. But i also know what i can expect from verlander. 8-9 strong innings, can you say the same about zito?

Giants take game 1 3 -2 in a close 1!!!

Verlander is human, he wont be able to contiue to pitch perfectly in san fran... GIANTS ALL THE WAY
