Montreal have had a flying
start to the season, having only recorded one regular time loss and one shoot
out loss. I have them at the top of my ratings, Columbus I have at 23rd.
All my metrics give the
Canadians the edge. However, that is never enough, I always try to see if there
is another angle before placing a bet.
For this game I noticed that
in their last 6 games both teams have faced the same opponents on three occasions.
They are Islanders, Minnesota and Anaheim. Columbus lost against all three opponents
while the Canadians only dropped the one game.
That has given me the
confidence to go with a travelling team that has had only one road defeat. I
give them a 63% chance of a road win.

It's ironic. After watching the Oilers dump to this kid, I sarcastically thought to myself, "oh look, it's the 'second coming' of Carey Price".
Now two days later and Price and his team skate into Nationwide Arena. Mason has had a lot of overblown media hype and the Canadiens are not the type whom enjoy sharing the spotlight.
Montreal will not overlook this team. They will rest Price for their upcoming game against Toronto, but that's where any an' all 'looking ahead' ends. They are going to hand this Mason kid's ass to him tonight.
