#2 Posted: 5/16/2008 11:30:56 PM Posted earlier in the week that the cavs may win game 7 if they get to game 7 in Boston, but after that Shit charge on pierce against lebron and the missed goaltend, I've changed my mind. Celts withstood a 22-2 run and got killed by not going to the free throw line. Excuse my French, but FUCK the Cavs. The Celtics will win the free throw fight and you dam well know they will not be giving up a 20 point spot at any time at home. The Celtics are playing like shit right now and haven't found their groove, but as crummy as they are playing, they will end Lebrons run sunday. The bench should play well, Eddie house should get more time, the crowd will be nuts. Also, the NBA needs The Celtics to advance. And for some reason, I feel it's as simple as that. What the NBA wants, the NBA gets. BOSTON CELTICS WIN- thats all. The NBA may make it very interesting and give us Double O.T.. Enjoy the game. Go Celtics!! FUCK CLEVELAND. |

#7 Posted: 5/17/2008 3:31:56 AM I'll tell you what...the Cavs won't score about 80 points unless we have overtime which is highly unlikely. Team total under is what I am riding with here. And the C's.
Celtics D will rise up just like they did versus Atlanta.

#8 Posted: 5/17/2008 6:56:38 AM Griffdog, you are correct, what the nba wants the nba gets. That's the very reason why Dwayne Wade and Lebron made it to the finals the last couple of years. This year I'm sure Stern wants the Celtics. So Celtics win but I'm not sure of the cover. I see a tight game! |

<...what the nba wants the nba gets...>
What the hell are you guys talking about? The Celtics are the better team and the Cavs can't win in Boston. It doesn't matter what Stern wants, it is just going to happen. They are going to be lucky to score 70 points, particularly when Daniel Gibson is sidelined with a seperated shoulder. Lebron could score 50 and they will still lose this game 90-68. Defence is winning this series---if the Cavs score 74 on their own court, they put up <80 in this game.
Big bet on Cavs Team Total Under. I will agree with the above poster. Fuck Cleveland. |

#10 Posted: 5/17/2008 8:19:14 AM I dont get the whole, NBA is rigged thing- you either hit the shots or you dont, sure the refs may sway it a little bit but there is no one guy making a phone call to a ref and whispering "cavs win" then hangs up and all of a sudden it happens- the players are no way involved. Dont even try tellin me Garnet gets payed off... |

#11 Posted: 5/17/2008 9:46:28 AM Not saying NBA is fixed, just tweeked a little bit. Refs have played a significant part in this series let alone all the other series. NBA not fixed, just Tweekable. And the refs know how to tweek. refs play tooooo big of part of games. Fuck Cleveland and fuck NBA refs. |

#12 Posted: 5/17/2008 10:28:53 AM 100% agree with griffdog
but Lebrick and company have been here before (last year) against the Pistons... that's the only thing that scares me here. Celtics don't have much playoff experience with each other in a HUGE GAME 7 like this... the one against the hawks was nothing compared to this game 7.. the hawks SUCK look at their regular season record... the Cavs at least have Lebrick and Z, wally, ben.
Celtics will win a close one and I'm crossing my fingers

#14 Posted: 5/17/2008 10:43:09 AM The nba is rigged and if u dont think so then your naive. Think about it this way. The more games there are the more revenue for the league. Thats why the home team never looses other than a couple instances. The zebras make it ten times harder to win on the road in the playoffs which in my opinion they are instructed to do. If you disagree with the refs not helping the home team then you havent been watching the games. Yea the home team still has to do alot of things to win but the zebras help them out if they need it. WIth all that being said once you get to game seven its up for grabs as far as who the NBA wants to win because they have maximized the possible revenue for the series although id still lean toward the home team. More games=More money=higher tv ratings...this all comes into play although we all hate to admit it haha. |

#15 Posted: 5/17/2008 10:50:28 AM I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I was Clear, FUCK CLEVELAND!!! I didn't even bet the game, just wanted to enjoy. Couldn't even do that. game was as messy as it gets. Boston controlled the game and then lets the cavs go 22-2. I told everyone in the room the Celtics would still win, but you can't beat bad calls. It's tough to watch the Celtics play at this level. I know I have a biased opinion being a fan, but we are all fans of SPORT. This sport happens to be B-ball. To see one of the best teams in the sport playing soooo poorly to mediocre teams(Atlanta, Cleve),is just tough to stomach. If the Celtics get by the Cavs, how can they compete with the teams from the west. It would be nice to see these great teams all go against one another while clicking on all cylinders. And i hope the refs can stay out of the results to give us a season to remember. We have Great Drama remaining, Celtics, Pistons, Kobe and co., Duncan trying to repeat, Cp3 is insane... I hope we can see some good ball from here on out. |

Last night was a great example; I think the NBA want's to see a game 7 with Lebron having a chance to go to boston and make history what have you, last night, the cavs have the game , but celtics make their run and it's good drama. But the refs get nervous that game 7 may not happen and with less than a minute to go, looks for a way out and calls that charge. It was sooo rediculous. and then next time down the court they miss a goaltend that hits the backboard? Robbed. The refs don't miss that call all year, but they happen to miss it there. how appropriate. but NBA got their game 7. By the way, FUCK CLEVELAND!! They are not in the same league as the Celts. Sorry for ranting on this thread. I'm Done. Wait.... FUCK CLEVELAND! |

#20 Posted: 5/17/2008 11:47:02 AM I believe the players are involved in the "fix" also. Example: in game 6 LA/Utah while there was still a chance to keep the game under the total, Kobe shot a couple of free throws where both of his shots hit the front of the rim, but bounced in. Kobe was checking the scoreboard before he shot his shots. Once the total went over his next free throws touched nothing but net. Game 7 Kobe shoots free throws late with no chance to affect the total late in the game and again nothing but net. I don't believe Kobe shoots two free throws in a row that hit the front of the rim unless he wants to ever. |

#21 Posted: 5/17/2008 11:53:28 AM Rigged or not, it's all about taking chances. You have 50/50 to pick the winner, and 50/50 to pick the o/u... so if luck is on your side that day, then you can win... If not, then you are SOL... If you think it's rigged, and can't afford to lose, then put your $ in a CD that pays 4-6% yearly.. that's a guarantee that you will never lose...

Thank you master of the obvious, Just pointing out that it's too bad It can't be clean for the sake of sport. I did not bet the game, but even as watching as a FAN(not a handicapper) it's obvious things were amiss last night. But thanks for telling me I have a 50/50 chance. It's good to know. Thanks for your input. |
