The correction continues. As I indicated on the thread the other day, the Clippers are an up and coming team that is getting healthy and is under the radar. New Orleans is a good road team but the spread is too high.
The Clippers are going to go on a run similar to the Blazers and as you can see, I'm tapped in and riding them for at least 6 games or so, with this being game #2. I will provide analysis tomorrow, but whatever points the Clippers are getting is too many. The spread should be Clips -2. That's all i have to say.

Just got the call a second after this posting. Damn, the PC don't miss a thing. This is a PC play now, and in th ehands of some heavyweights. And if they are doing their thing, I have to roll with it. As I indicated the analysis is coming in the morning.

I have made oodles of money off the Hornets this year, and I have a finger on their pulse. One of the better raod teams in the NBA, the Hornets rely on crisp shooting put backs, and great set offense. Chris Paul is the real deal, and is capable of knocking down the open jumper. But New Orleans is in a bad position spread wise after defeating the Clips at home earlier this year 98-89.
They caught the Clips at their leanest of times, with all kinds of injury problems. It is very hard to defeat a team twice in a row on their home court. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Sam Cassel the original assassin is fresh and ready to go this time around. With Cassell in the lineup, he has to be accounted for, which frees up Mobley on the other side for wide open jumpers. Kaman is every bit the player that Chandler is with respect to output. Maggette is a defensive stopper, and serviceable scorer as well. The benches are a wash because of Bobby Jackson's output. At the same time due to all of the injuries, the Clippers bench has gotten strong too as guys got plenty of playing time while the starters were nursing injuries. But they're back now, save Tim Thomas who's questionable with a slight knee injury. He's not important though.
Prior to the last contest wherein the Hornets covered a -3 spread at the Staples center, the Hornets were favored over the Clippers on the road was in 2003. The -3 spread in the last contest was definitely because of the injuries the Clippers had. This spread is predicated on the win that New Orleans had in that game and is exploratory at best.
The Clippers are very capable of stringing together victories as they are still a possible playoff team. No way should they be receiving points at home.

Don't worry about it. There are some heavyweights putting money on this game, so if they put it up, I have to too. I wished that I would have waited up until gametime to take the Clips and got it at 5.5, but I am happy with 4.5. It's all the same. the Hornets have to beat them by 6 in order to cover. Kind of hard to do on another team's floor.
I am all alone on this bet it seems, which is the way that I like it. I hate going with the consensus. I love being the contrarian. We'll see how it works out. I know a person that has 6 dimes on this game, so I'm sure that he will be watching with earnest.
