 "According to a report on FOXSports, Dolphins WR Chris Chambers was traded Tuesday to San Diego for a second-round draft choice. Chambers was the Dolphins leading receiver with 31 catches for 415 yards and no touchdowns this season."
 
I like the Pats even more now that the only recieving threat that MIA had is gone if the report is accuate. I'll wait and see if the line rises throughout the week before i make a play.

Are you kidding me!!! Just seen on the news Dolphins trade Chambers to the Chargers for 2nd round draft pick!! I would normally approve of this but look at what we did with our 1st rounder this season  
 
Should been a 2nd rounder and a proven defender from the Chargers.
 
I wish you well Chris Chambers  at least you are going on a team that is going somewhere soon. Look out Jason and Zach Cam might trade you for Vinny Teteverde soon.

Normally this would be a great position for the Dolphins to take down the undefeated as we usually do. Not this season there is now way in Hell this weak Dolphin defense can handle this explosive Patriot offense and that is coming from a Dolphin fan.
 
With the 0-6 start and the loss of Chris Chambers this week who is loved by his fellow teammates the morale will be at its all time low.

Wow I think Vegas doesn't want me to bet on NE this game, laying 17 pts on the road is too much.. I have been on NE wagons up till now hmmm?

Now that Chambers is GONE I will tease this down along with the Giants and either Washington or Seattle by 10 points

wow, sorry bigdaddy...i was definitely staying from this, NE always has a tough time in Miami, I think they've lost 7 out of their last 9 in Miami, plus they just had a big win and are travelling for the second week....but now without Chambers??? To me, this looks like a baseball team trading away players at the deadline and basically giving up the rest of the way. Good point re: the morale. I just don't know how they can score. If the Pats shut down Ronnie Brown, then it'll be tough. However with Morris and Watson both out, might still stay away unless Maroney plays. Still a reach though with 17, never seen that many for a home team before. I think Houston a couple years ago had +14 vs Miami (ironically enough) and beat em.

Chambers had no TD but he was the go to wideout. He leads the Dolphins in receiving yardage and was able to spread the defense for Ronnie Brown. Chambers would miss the easy catches at times but seems to always catch the acrobatic ones. That's why a key loss for Miami.

Key Off season losses on offense...

Wes Welker- to New England ( big loss )

Randy Mcmichael - to the Rams

Sammy Morris - to New England

Chris Chambers- recently to the Chargers.

Daunte Culpepper -  still trying to figure out if he was a key loss but at least he is on a team with more wins than us.

Ronnie Brown -RB - the only person I have yet to find anything bad to talk about this season.

I apologize for venting on here but the Dolphins got me irritated this whole season. I hate Saban for what he did but we at least won some games with him in charge.

Cam Cameron }  To think I supported him this season. Went on the Dolphins web blog and said give Cam a chance now I say get his butt out of here.

I like the Pats also here.   Liked them last night when 80% of public was on the Dolphins getting 17 for some odd reason since Miami can't score 17 in a WHOLE game against the Pats, but it is now about 50/50 and it is probably because of chambers being traded.  Don't be surprised to see the line move up a bit though since, even though chambers isn't randy moss, he still makes an impact on the field and people will start to lay their money on the team that covers games like the Colts the last couple of years (no matter the line, they cover).  I agree with bigdaddyhpd when he thinks that Miami won't score a single point in this game.  How is Miami going to score a single point against that defense?The Pats are going to have a field day with Cleo Lemon and Ted "I drop the ball agin and agin and a"Gin.  The Dolphins will probably turn the ball over 5 or 6 times, mostly from interceptions.

I'm new to football and LOVE the Patriots this year.  I noticed NE lost OUTRIGHT to MIA last year.  However, I wasn't there and don't really know what the situations were last year.  How did NE lose last year?  Does their loss last year have any relevance this year?

YEah BIGDADDY not sure what direction the fins are taking....no young guy, old D, no QB....... but  at least you have the 72 fins, the Marino area to cheer about...

Fins will get it right , the cycle of football...Pats use to sucks forever look now , look at the 49 ers now....most team cycle..except of course my Saints...

Chris Chambers is going to a team where he deserves a chance to play in the post season. Next Jason Taylor & Zach Thomas needs to go to the Patriots to get there ring like Junior Seau will this season.
 
We are hurting on defense with young players at defensive backs. Jason Allen is a bust. Just found out that we let go Donovan Darius and we are already hurting at that position with injuries.
 
IMO the Patriots will cover this 17 point spread easily.

Sorry to tell you this bigdaddy but I took Cleveland against Miami last week. I try not to bet on my favorite team because I usually don't think with my head.. Sad to say that the Vikings is my favorite NFL team, I have stay away from their games all year until last week against the bear. I took the Under  on that game due to weather report saying that it was going to rain.. well back to this game.. NE has been a money machine all of ths year.. I just took them -16.5 .. GL all ride the Pats until the wheels fall off.

Id stay away from this game, and thats coming from a die hard Pats fan from Cape Cod.  I layed a bunch on the Pats last week because that game meant something.  We probably will cover, but from history alone we have a really really tough time playing in Miami.  Have split with them every year since I can remember.  Staying away from this game.  Hey, I know the Pats well, last week was a statement game, whats this game mean?  Whats the point in running it up?  Absolutely none.  And I have layed a big wager on every Pats game this year except the Cleveland game because of the same fact, also because Romeo and bellichek have a good relationship and he didnt want to run it up on him.  I mean, dont bet against them cause they are probably the best team to ever step onto a football field and I truely belive we will go 19-0, said it at the beginning of the year, but I could definitely see a slow game where we get out with a 10 point win.

I really don't believe that the pats past with the dolphins matters here, divisional game on the road or what.  The dolphins were a more complete team when they have "upset" the pats the last couple of years and this year they are nowhere near a complete team.  Also, the Pats are having the best year they have ever had as a franchise, maybe even as an NFL team period averaging almost 40 points/game!!  It is going to be in the mid-70's more than likely so it won't be too hot and sticky for a traveling pats team which is usually beneficial to the Fins.  Secondly, Miami at least has a good defense to fall back on so when they DO beat the Pats their defense plays well like it is supposed to, they get a fumble or interception, and convert it to a TD to win the game.  Not this year.  I just can't see the Dolphins being any competition with a second string quarterback, NO defense, and minus their #1 offensive force.  The money is starting to pile up on N.E. though at 62% so if it goes up and up that line will too.  Take the pats here while it is at -16.5 and don't worry about having to cross your fingers in this game.

Alright, I agree about the defensive aspect, but there still is no reason to pound them like we pounded the boys or the chargers.  I think their is a good shot we cover, and maybe there is a reason to win by a large margin if bellichek brings up previous meetings.  I love the Pats so maybe 100 on them, but Im still weary about what has happened in the last couple years.  But their defense is garbage so it is probably a safe bet.

This will be a shocking poitn spread winning situation for Miami. The Pats can beat this sorry ass Miami team by 30, but why? After a large primetime ass-kicking of Dallas, this is a genuine spot for a let-down against a team that the Ptriots may take lightly for all of th eobvious reasons. the Dolphins ain't shit. But the linemaker sez the lights ain't on in Vegas because the favorite covers every time. The Dolphins will find a way to bumble and stumble into a cover and I am putting up $400.00 to prove it this weekend. 17 points is 20. Miami is 7-2 against the spread versus New England at home over the last 9 games. Now I'm sure all of you know that those 9 years means that the Dolphins have covered against some of New England's Super Bowl teams. 17 points at home. That's all I am saying.

But in those 9 prior games did the team have Randy Moss? Were the Patriots undefeated? Were they beating teams by 23 on average? Did they just spank an undefeated team by 21 the game before? Did Tom Brady Lead the lead in TD's with only 2 int's? Were the fishies winless?

 

I don't think you can look at trends on this one guys. I'm going with the Pats all the way. Just wondering about the over under....

If they can beat Americas team on their own field by 21 I dont see them having problems with one of the worst teams the Dolphins have ever had.

I'm leaning towards the under because Ronnie Brown is going ot be the go to guy. But I'm nervous that the Pats might have a 45+ point game of their own based on Miami's d.

Stop looking at trends guys. If you look at trends only look at the this trend.

pats will cover 17 at half time...this will be a shut out....31-0 pats...somebody explain to me how miami will make it pass the 50 yard line...who evers in doubt of the pats arn't serious gamblers.....don't bet the over because.....don't bet the over thats a trapppppp......pats win big but miami wont score many points so take pats and the under
