Detroit's wide receiving corps is absolutely decimated with injuries (no Broyles and obviously Titus Young has effectively been kicked off the team), Brandon Petigrew is also questionable and wasn't able to suit up last week in the embarrassing loss to Arizona. And what has quietly gone under the radar is that Nick Fairly, their other stud defensive tackle, has been placed on the IR due to a shoulder injury suffered in the Arizona game. Delmas, one of the leaders in their secondary, is also listed as questionable. The Lions are simply too banged up and won't be motivationally challenged enough to defend their home turf this Saturday night. Not to mention, their home field advantage isn't really that much of an edge given Atlanta is a dome team. If this were outdoors on a grass surface like Carolina from 2 weeks ago, thats a different story.
I am sure its a public bet, but I know Atlanta is the better team...I know they are the healthier team. And I know they are the team with the better momentum (coming off a statement game against the Giants). The Lions are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Cardinals. And their offensive gameplan will be no mystery this Saturday...Lets heave the ball up to Megatron, and hope he breaks Jerry Rice's single season receiving yards record.
I think Atlanta locks up home field advantage this Saturday Night. |

4 wins at this point in the season simply shows this club does not know how to win. They are still the same old Detroit Lions only a little sugar coated with a few talented players. Aside from the Cardinals, all of their losses were by 10 or less points. If they're a home dog of <5 points you might as well take the FAV. I will.

couldnt have said it any better my self just to many injuries and if pettigrew cant go the lions second best receiver is tony scheffler and behind him its a toss between durham and thomas and on the defense side no jacob lacey ,corey williams, nick fairley and delmas been hurt all year and missed the last two games

That's a good point! But the lions are far from one of the worst teams in the NFC. When healthy, they actually have one of the highest scoring offenses in the league. They have been on the unfortunate end of some really close games. With some more discipline (no stupid penalties), better clock management (run the ball to hang on to leads), and a BETTER SECONDARY, this team would definitely be in playoffs. So despite their record, i actually think they are a decent teeam. Unfortunately, they fell short this year, and I don't like their chances of containing Atlanta with that banged up defense. I also don't think Stafford will be lighting up the scoreboard with half the receiving corps missing. Getting Petigrew back would certainly help their chances, but he's still questionable as far as I know.
Maybe I'm dead wrong about this one, but I willl probably be on Detroit next week when they play the Bears. I think they will be much more motivated next week!!
