#4 Posted: 11/20/2012 1:56:41 AM This line makes no sense at all. The Lions are a disaster. Stafford is a failure who is getting worse by the game. Titus Young has been declared inactive because he can't figure out how not to get caught cheating. The defense is solid but can't save the awful offense every game. If you are taking the Lions because you think they are a value here you are crazy. Absolutely crazy. And I say this as a committed Lions fan and someone who can never bet against them.

Only problem with that theory is they've lost 8 straight on Turkey day!!!
Houston is probably the most complete team in the league this year and should cover this. This team can win playing any kind of game, run, pass or defense.
Lions come off two tough div losses and I think will be down. They always seem to find a way to lose it. Hou just the opposite, case in point LW giving up a ton of points to a lousy Jaguar squad the offense puts up galactic numbers and wins anyway. Texans the only choice for me.
Houston wins 31-20

#9 Posted: 11/20/2012 10:12:07 AM The Texans slept on the Jags last week like the rest of the world not expecting Gabbert to get knocked out as well as Henne coming in and doing what he did. With that said, you can't blame them for allowing the Jags to take them to overtime and giving up so many points. Preparation is everything. Short week..texas to detroit is a decent flight for the Texans. The lions get to stay put in Detroit. I don't think the flight will matter, but it doesn't help the case for the Texans. They also played 41 minutes of offense and 31 minutes of defense while Detroit played 30 and 30. Andre Johnson 19 targets 14 receptions, Graham 9 and 8, Daniels 9 and 6. This receiving core is only human..they have to be tired. Expect a running game plan from the Texans and expect Stafford to be Stafford. He's not going to change. We know who he is and if they can come up with a game plan for Megatron (good teams do), they will limit them. UNDER PLEASE.

#11 Posted: 11/20/2012 2:51:11 PM The only reason that I can see for the line only being HOU-3 is because the books know that GB beat HOU 42-24 in HOU and DET lost only 24-20 to GB L-week. Maybe that, combined with the short week and travel for HOU can be the only reasons that I could see.
GB was banged up on "D" L-week and HOU comes into this game a little banged up on "D" also.
With that said I see no reason to pick the Lions OVER Houston here.
Even IF the Texans play a bad game and the Lions play thier best game of the season... I still expect Houston to win and cover the -3 pts.
I think that this line will only go UP the closer it get to gametime... it should go to -3.5 on Wednesday so get your Houston tickets now.
As for the O/U in this game... I expect a low scoring affair with Houston jumping out to a lead and running after that to kill the clock. The Lions will get "some" but not enough to cover OR win this game.
My best guesstimate is HOUSTON-27 Detroit-17
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL the people of the world |

The people that set lines are extremely smart, as we all know. So, why is this line sooooo low, so low that it looks like a gift? Well, not so fast to jump on the waaaaay better team. The Texans just played an exhausting, come-from-behind overtime game, then fly from Florida back to Houston, have a cup of coffee, (short week) then get back on a plane, fly to Detroit to play the Lions, who haven't flown anywhere as they play back-to-back home games. On top of all that, this is a non-conference game, so how motivated are the Texans gonna be? No, the line, is about right. |

The Lions have lost 8 straight on Turkey day? So what? Every year the teams are different, the opponents are different, and the situations are different. That is just a meaningless trend. |

#14 Posted: 11/20/2012 4:58:18 PM Going with Detroit +3. This is gonna be my largest wager of the year so far. The Texans used everything they had to battle back and beat the Jaguars and they needed almost a whole extra quarter to do so. They are gonna be very tired and add that it's a short week and it spells disaster. The Lions lost a close one and are fighting for their playoff lives. Look for them to have a chip on their shoulder. I will also be putting money on Detroit ML as well. |

Lions +3 over 50.5
The Jacksonville game takes it's toll on the Texans. Lions steal this one at home to snap the 8 game Turkey Day losing streak.
Lions - Over

#20 Posted: 11/20/2012 10:45:14 PM The reason the line is so low is that the Texans secondary has been exposed by the lowly Jaguars. Imagine what Stafford could do to it.
I am laying off this or at least further analyzing it. I am wondering how a team with one of the most sacks to their QB in the league were able to expose Houstons secondary and tear off huge chunks like that. JAgs are nuts if they dont bench Gabbert in favor of hene.
MAybe houston was looking ahead to this game. Still though. I have to believe that was the case and they overlooked the lowly Jags.
Holding off on betting to consider this much more thoroughly. |

Stafford aint garbage. Lol his stats are just as phony as Carson Palmer. His newly added sidearm dish is a classic. However this is the NFL where the craziest garbage happens so for the time being I like the under. |

#24 Posted: 11/21/2012 9:52:11 AM you can not trust detroit ther coach is a complete moron, last week against the pack they were down 21-20 and they went on 4th down from around there own 25 or so.They do not make it.2 times out left and a minute 45 left. They sould have let green bay score a td.At least they would got the ball back with 2 time outs and 1:30 and down 8.The moron lets green bay run 3 plays and then kick a fg and maybe 20 seconds left. These nfl coaches have there own agenda and it is not about winning football games |
