Philadelphia - 27                             Washington - 10

Eagles +3.5                                  under 45

Eagles defense has a chance to get back on track. Both coaches on the hot seat should make for an interesting contest. That negative comment by Shanahan doesn't set well with me. I'll lose my money on Foles and the Birds.

Living in Suberbia Philly I follow the Eagles Very closely; they are my favorite team, but all of us living here in Philly know that it is not often wise to pick the Eagles ATS unless you are CERTAIN they will win that game ATS.

And I am picking the Eagles win this game by 13-17. I see this game ending up in the Eagles 34, Redskins 17. No, actually, honestly, I see the Eagles winning this one in a blowout. I also predict our defense will score a TD. Make that Eagles 41, Redskins 17.

The Eagles Offensive line will get help as Watkins will be back at Right Guard vs the Redskins, moving 6'8 Kelly over to Right Tackle, the position he played in college. Then you have Dallas Reynolds who actually did have a good game vs Dallas. This allows King Dunlop to move to left tackle with Mathis at Guard. That puts Bell on the Bench; he has been HORRIBLE... That's actually now a bad Offensive line that will be playing against a less than impressive and depleted Redskins Defensive.

But honestly, look at that Dallas game; Foles had that terrible pick six, and then you had that punt return for a touchdown (all within 2:38 seconds of each other). Subtract that 14 pts from the score and it is Dallas 24 Philly 23. Oh yea, and don't forget that the Cowgirls scored on the second to last play of the game when Foles was sacked and fumbled in the endzone in the 4th quarter.

Everyone here in Philly has been waiting and praying for Foles to replace Vick at QB. Vick has been simply terrible. He still doesn't know how to identify and audible out of a blitz. He doesn't know when to throw to his Hot Route when he is under pressure. He was playing like a deer in headlights this year. I'm glad Foles is starting. This kid is a freaking Stud.

Foles went 4-0 in the preseason and led the NFL in QB rating. I'm not sure what the number was, it was 120 something with 6 tds and 1 int. YES, it was the preseason, I understand that... but he does have talent. He is also a beat, listed at 6'6 240 lbs, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is more like 260.

Also, do you know that guy named Drew Brees? Well Foles went to the same high school as Brees and he broke all of Brees records. But also, nobody knew of him because he went to school in Arizona and he was the only player on the team with any talent.

When Foles played against Dallas, he came off then bench and he had never gotten first team reps in practice all year. He will get to get 'in sync' with all the starters after a full week of practice in this one.

As an Eagles fan, I could see an excitement in this Eagles team I hadn't seen all year long when Foles came in to play QB. I had never heard the Linc that loud since the McNabb playoffs days. And the team responded and played great. The defense really picked up their game against Dallas. But then, Foles through that pick 6, you had the punt returned for a touchdoown, and the team kinda gave up.

The eagles Offensive line will play better vs the Redskins. The Redskins suck at home. The Eagles match up well against the Redskins and they have won their last 3 meetings.

I have yet to pick my Eagles to win a game ATS this year... But I am Guaranteeing they win this game Outright in dominating fashion. The Eagles are just a better team than the Redskins... and the Eagles have something to prove. They will be re-energized with Foles starting at QB.

The saying goes "My Mama didn't raise no fool" so I'm betting on 'FOLES' to get the win over Was.This kid should be playing his 3rd game already.

this is an over game, foles will put up some points, but being a rookie will make his mistakes...griffin will continue to run the ball...hence plenty of turnovers and scoring of those turnovers!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile......wait.....

Even a blind Eagle finds a mouse once in awhile....

I agree with Matt.....Foles will be better than Vick and the Eagles
defense is better than the Redskins.

5 loses in a row ends for the Eagles.

Eagles 34, Redskins 20

Foles passes for over 400 yards as the Redskins secondary is just terrible.

Didnt expect so much love for the Eagles. Mat2500 Almost had me convinced Eagles may win against the Redskins who nearly always find a way to lose, until that "guarantee;"

Been following the Eagles all my life and YES I bet against them last week... but this week my spider senses are tingling towards an Eagles SU win in D.C. as a +3.5 dog.

I've seen this too many times before. I will not be on a total but I really like the Eagles in this situation.

Go Eagles and Go #9... Nick Foles...!!!!!!!!!

Eagles in a BLOWOUT

Nice analysis.  I got hurt taking the Skins vs the Panthers before their bye week.  The Eagles, however, have also burnt a hole in my wallet this year. Maybe Andy Reid will focus more on running the ball with a rookie quarterback on the road.  Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for the Eagles.  I could see them winning this game.

Andy Reid has also had Shanahan's number going 3-1 SU and ATS since Shanahan took over the Skins.  Plus the road teams have been 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Not 100% sold yet, but it just might be time to torture myself once more and take the Eagles.

The only aspect of this game that gives the Skins a chance of winning, is that its at FEDEX Stadium.  If this was at Philly...Philly wins big.  But since this is at FEDEX and the Eagles are getting points the pick is Philly.  QB is a toss up, but give me Andy Reid with any QB against Shanahan and Griffin.  The philly defense is going to feast on griffin if he decides to move in the pocket.  Moss and Garcon might play but if they are they would not be 100%.  Griffin has sore ribs so how much play action and scrambling can you expect from him.  This leans on the skins running game and that won't get it done.  Reid will control the pace of the game with play calling for his rookie qb and controlling the clock with McCoy.  A little chance of rain won't be that much of a factor, because I really believe the game plan for both coaches is to protect the with field position and run the ball effectively.

I'm sorry to hear that the Eagles have hurt you this year... but don't worry, you're not the only one.

The 'House' has always loved the Eagles; Philadelphia has a ton of fans all over the U.S (mainly because nobody wants to stay in Philly). I had to laugh at the lines that come out for Eagles game half they time... It's like the line-makers are almost locking the betters saying, 'look at this line, the Eagles Have To Cover This!' all while they are laughing knowing they are going to make a killing this week.

I have only picked the Eagles 3 times ATS this year, and every time I picked them to lose. I picked the Ravens game (they won, but lost ATS), the Lions Game, and then Atlanta; So I lucked out winning all 3... Also, I know DOZENS of people that pick the Eagles and get screwed... Hell, I often talk to the people  in line and at the casino and they are talking, the Eagles are a Lock this week. I just look at them and suggest them to stay away from them this week.

This team is very close to my heart and I would recommend anyone I know to take them.

Also, in the last 4 years the Redskins are 0-4 coming off the bye and Shanahan is Also (I heard this on the radio today and I just looked it up to double check), but Mike Shanahan is 8-21 in his career coming off the bye (reference extremskins.com).

I sure hope I'm not wrong... But I just know I'm not going to be; the Eagles will win this game outright.

Good luck this week Champ!

Vick, Cam, and now R.G. III - - all glorified running backs who also happen to throw the ball. Seems to me this little trend of "run first, throw maybe" is finally being exposed for what it really is.

Now, Both Mannings, Brady, A-Rod, Big Ben, and Drew Brees - all true pocket passers in every sense of the word who rarely, if ever, choose to run with the ball. What do they all have in common? Only the last 10 years or so of Superbowl rings, that's what. Also, longevity in the league - how many good running backs past the age of 32 are there or have there ever been? How old is Vick now? Exactly.....

Don't get me wrong, R.G. III is a great athlete who can compete at the highest level, and who knows, maybe he bucks this run first QB trend. But, until then, I'll stick with the defined QB's for the long grueling haul of a full season........

Oh, and Eagles +3.5 - - Vick being out will actually help this offense, especially the running game - why you ask? Please see my comments posted above, thank you.....

Nice writeup by Matt2500.

People are aways talkin about Eagles being underachievers but im more concerned with how disappointing the Redskins are and HAVE BEEN year after year.  i really question the structure of this organization and it starts up top with the owner - he may have a ton of $$$ but he does not know anything about football.  the Redskins have SUCKED ever since he took over ownership.  it's really sad to watch cuzz i used to root for Redskins back in the day.  RG3 looks like the real deal, but will they build around him?  who knows.  all i know is what they have going on right now is a blueprint for not being competitive.

I didn't read all the comments, but looks like everyone is on the Eagles. I think the Eagles are the better team, they did fine without Vick last year

Agreed

Vick being out = less turnovers
Rookie QB = more touches for Shady Nasty
Returning starters to the O line = Better O line play
Foles was an excellent QB in college

Add this up and get an Eagles cover.
