What can you expect from S/D this week.  its hilarious to me with this team that every year oh they are so talented this that this that, all bunch of bullshit.  Betting on San Diego you have to be an idiot.  You never know what team your going to get.  with them being on the road, i expect to see the charger team that scored 6 points against the Cleveland Browns !!!! hahaha.  Tampa is on a nice lil run and how bout doug martin, the dude is making a strong statement as one of the better up an comers in this league. Looks very impressive and this Tampa team looks like they have a huge upside the remainder of the year.  I can see this team easily fighting for a playoff spot.  Schiano has does a tremendous job in my opinion this year.  A fg favorite at home against a team you dont know whos going to show up sounds great to me.  I also like the over 48 as well.  I see this total like tampas game last week when i think it was 42-32.  I see Tampa winning this one 30-23.  G/L

The one thing your forget to mention is the actual matchups. It's Rivers vs that terrible passing defense (31st against the pass) & Doug Martin vs one of the best rushing defenses in the NFL. The Chargers rarely allow a 100 yard rusher & Freeman has looked good in games that he's had a ground attack but less than adequate when his running backs have been shut done. Remember that Doug Martin chewed up the Raiders (19th against the run), the Vikings (23rd against the run), & the Saints (32nd against the run). The Chargers are 4th against the run

Couldn't of said it better myself. We all know it's any given Sunday, but you really should analyze the matchups for each individual game - don't just go off of a team's record, or how well they played the previous week.

Also, just to add more fuel to the fire, if Eddie Royal and Meachem  come back this week, outside, where it's forecasted to be 77 degrees with 0% chance of rain and no wind - it's going to be a looooooooooooooooooong afternoon for the Bucs secondary.....

...........or.............

Rivers throws 8 picks  - - but, I'm sticking with the former

Chargers M/L

West to East games are SD-TB,Den-Car,Oak-Bal,Dal-Phi....SD and Den are the likely to pull off the road wins...but I'll just go with the OVER in this one.

I live and go to the charger games. Bottomline. chargers suck. Norv Turner is awful Dean Spanos is a joke of an owner. They suck especially on the road. Dont trust them. Go with Tampa Bay.

I concur.  I've been a huge fan of this Bucs team and Schiano.  With a little help in the secondary this team will definitely be a playoff-caliber team next year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they contend for a spot this season. That being said, this line should be bigger.  With the Bucs laying only 3 here, it seems like Vegas is begging you to take the Bucs, especially given the west coast v east coast angle for 1:00 games.  Given that San Diego had extra time to prepare (they were the Thursday night game last week), I think the time difference has less significance. Plus the corners for San Diego have probably played against Vincent Jackson 100s of times in practice and will know how to cover him.
It's hard to have confidence in a turnover prone team led by Norv Turner, but my gut is telling me that this line is a trap an it looks too easy to take Tampa.  What do you guys think?

Ok, well Dumb, Dumber, n Dumbest like S.D. So ill take T.B. all day long. Chargers are so over-rated with too many problems, while the Bucs under Greg Schiano are rolling in the right direction. Screw the west coast flying east coast stuff or other way around. You morons act like they cant adjust to a whopping 3 hr difference. Even said that, Bucs hands down

Hey mad dawg, no reason for name-calling.  We're here to exchange ideas and make good decisions. You should always pay attention when a west coast team travels to the eastern timezone and has to play a 1:00 game.  Did you know the Oakland Raiders haven't won a 1:00 east coast game in over 3 years?  Coaches like Ken Whisenhunt of the Arizona Cardinals has his team travel on Fridays so players have an extra day to adjust.  So before you start calling people morons, you should think before you write.

I agree with you that San Diego sucks, but why are they only a 3 point dog playing on the opposite side of the country?  Shouldn't the number be closer to 5 or 6? The only teams they've beaten this year are Kansas City (twice), Oakland, and Tennesee. The Bucs on the other hand have beaten Carolina, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Oakland. While neither of these teams have wins against upper echelon teams, I would definitely agree that Schiano's team has looked more impressive.  The Bucs secondary may be horrible, but they are 3rd in the league in interceptions, and we all know how Phillip Rivers likes to serve them up.

The main point I was trying to make is that the line looks too good to be true.

The Chargers win easily, the Bucs had their run, now its over. And dont get me wrong, i been riding the bucs for 3 weeks now, and the chargers are pathetic but this game is all about matchups. The chargers know Vincent Jack, and can match up against him well. 28-14 Chargers

You're so right!! I'm dumb because football is not a game of matchups... I brought up stats & facts for my opinion but I'm obviously wrong because you say one team is rolling, while the other is over-rated with too many problems. Thanks for your expert analysis. Oh & if you're going to call me dumb for the time difference then you might want to check if I actually said anything about it. Pretty sure I didn't but what do I know... After all I am dumb. Or I am dumber? Oh wait, maybe I'm dumbest

San Diego is 6-1 in the last 7 as an underdog of less than 3 points. The Bucs haven't been a favorite only once this year... and they lost the game.

Being an underdog is one thing. When you're expected to win,it becomes tougher for the underdog to rise up.

Chargers +3

Spot on my man.  I was thinking along the same lines, but it's good to see the numbers that bear the logic out.  Doesn't feel like there's much to add, except that getting meachem off the field more is probably a really good thing and danario alexander has always been a talent, and probably hasn't had this good of a QB throwing to him.  Big fast dude like that does seem like he should be able to fit the vincent jackson role at least on some level, and that secondary is just BEGGING to get shredded.  Chargers actually have some good playmakers in their secondary, and josh freeman is probably getting away with some innaccurate throws because his WRs are bad ball receivers.  Ultimately, I just see the chargers as able to create more stops than the chargers.  Also, this line was a +1 before doug martin went for a few strolls on the raiders.  I think the books thought they could get away with making the bucs lay 3.

I don't care who wins and why.  Just take the over.  If Rivers get's his receivers back which he will, this will be a nice airing game but Doug Martin is a friggin BEAST and breaks off some big runs which doesn't eat too much clock.

I'm gonna play big on the Over for this game today.  Nice to cheer for both sides to show up on offense and pray everyone on the defense gets banged up!  haha
