"you just count Giants running game out"

You mean like Gore's running game vs. Giants was counted out when he ran for zero yards? After running for 100 yards each in his last 4 games.

Alex should be running, he was the most sacked QB in the NFL on a team that does not pass that much, how is that even possible?

"Alex was sacked 44 times, tops in the NFL, despite the fact he's #28 in pass attempts"

I like your favts and analysis SPY..the 49ers are a very good team but Smith had a career day last week with 5 turnovers to help his cause.  Gore is banged up (as usual) and the 3-5 step drop passes that are 90% of SF offense won't work all game vs Giants front athleticism. That being said I don't have total faith in Eli's decision making and I'm a season ticket holder!!!...I think it's a close game and could go either way...just hoping it goes Giants way

Plus Mr. Manning won't have the luxury of sitting back there all day in the pocket. Of course the officials & home crowd will help SF. That's why it's called home field advantage. Hey Vue, good luck on your picks, i'm on the same side with the OVER.  I'm not doing as good in the playoffs this year, unlike the past 3 yrs, i'm only a paltry 11-5, which means im out of the money...oh well, we need to go for vegas$ now.

Same for Nicks's quick throw, spread out and he's one on one.

Talk about pass rushes, if NY's can't get there do you think the 49ers will? If Eli's back there with a half a day to throw he won't have a problem hooking up with a WR and deep too. Can Smith? Who is the 49ers # one WR?

Most think this game will be close, i don't. Akers sets FG record, what does that tell you? 49ers are not scoring TDs. First 4 scores vs. Giants were FGs. Eli hit his 10 passes. Gore had 4 100yard games in a row before he played the Giants, vs. the Giants he had none. 9ers, don't fall behind.

This is just blatantly false information....

Frank Gore was injured that game and didn't even start..... Hunter started..... Frank Gore got 6 carries..... SF game play was to throw 10 times on the first drive.....

how can you see the Giants shut down Frank Gore when he only had 6 carries, and he was injured, and didn't start?

This was actually brought up on WFAN this afternoon with Mike Francesa (Giant fan and Jets hater btw lol).....  he told the caller that it was rediculous to say Gore got shut down.....

you do make a great point with the WR's..... should be hard to cut for both teams....

but, Giants are the more explosive team and will be hindered more by the slow track.... the muddy field positively plays into the 49ers strenght....

I don't buy the fact that both pass rushes will be neutralized by the wet field.... but Eli will get much more leway than Alex Smith.... 49ers will play close to the vest....

WR...edge: Big Blue...with Cruz in the slot and Manningham and Nix on the outside, he will demand the double team, and open up single coverage for Nix & Manningham.  Both of which are stellar.  and because Cruz is so dangerous, and will demand the double team , means he is that good

Update: Ginn is either gonna play as a gimp or not play at all. THIS WILL AFFECT FIELD POSITION TREMENDOUSLY.  he averages about 13 yards a return on punts...startign Alex Smith from the 25 or the 40 is a big difference vs Blues D Line.

Alex smith over achieved last week...i dont thik he had over 300 yards all year... and 5 turnovers usually helps.

However, i know the conditions and the track will be rough, but the gmen are built for this weather and rough terrain.

Also the giants have not allowed more then like 6 saks in the last 4-5 games, its something really close to that.

Also, 49ers are either missing are playing with a significantly banged up TE and i think its a linebacker

experience...edge: Gmen,  especially on the road

yes, the homefield & weather will help the 49ers stay in it and maybe keep it close, but...

BIG BLUE  money line

Chef MONEY

Why don't u just give the giants the edge in better gatorade flavors, better cheerleaders, better radio announcers, and better fans too? You gave them every edge, might as well find other ways they are better than the team they lost too earlier in the year and underdogs to this weekend.

I'm sure giants fans wouldn't be jumping out of their seats to defend the edge in coaching. I think Harbaugh will be a better coach than NY's coach. He might even already be there. He is a better in game coach. To me it seems as if the Giants are able to run and the D line is dominant, then they win. If not, they lose. That tells me that their coach is not good at making adjustments. Anyone can be considered a good coach with elite talent (look at Tressel and Les Miles)

The special teams edge goes to San Fran. I didn't hear you talk about LB and secondary, both advantages to San Fran.

Did Gore play or not? Bradshaw was injured too but the Giants held him out. Bradshaw is injured now but playing Sunday. I heard Gore got dinged last week is that a excuse if they don't get the running game going.

" the muddy field positively plays into the 49ers strenght...."? The line can not drive block, where is he going to go? I once watched Gale Sayers score 6 TDs in the mud, vs. 49ers too. But that was Sayers. Gore is a straight ahead runner.

"rediculous to say Gore got shut down" I just look at the stats and they say zero yards.

BTW, the 49ers defense gave up 499 yards and 4 tds last week. Just watch for a 49er coaching mistake, it's coming.

Kendall Hunter was the starting running back because Gore was banged up.... if you want to say Hunter got shut down than that's fair.... but to say the Giants shut down Frank Gore is false information..... they guy barely played any snaps

To the Saints!!!!!!! in dome like record setting temperatures..... 499 yards to drew brees and co who broke the season passing record!!!! you're saying that likes it's a bad thing.... how many points did the Giants give up against the Saints?  What team has shut down the Saints?  49ers created turnovers off of real hits.... knocking players out as they caught the ball!..... heres some tape!

Greenbay and 49ers were tied with takeaways, that didn't help them. The Dallas Cowbillies beat the 49ers, the Giants beat Dallas twice.

If your winning the game hinges on getting TOs, then you're already playing from behind.

Ok, i'll just say it, the Giants shut down and outrushed the 49ers even without Bradshaw playing.

"
What team has shut down the Saints?"  the 2 worst ones,TB and the Rams.

Betting Trends for the game: Teams that win straight up as home underdogs in the playoffs (49ers) are 6-22-1 ATS the following game since 1985. The Giants are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 playoff road games."

it's a little crazy to keep going back and forth like this....
but....

Greenbay and 49ers were tied with takeaways, that didn't help them. The Dallas Cowbillies beat the 49ers, the Giants beat Dallas twice.

Saints beat the Giants, 49ers already beat the Giants..... Giants beat Dallas in overtime, Dallas beat 49ers in overtime.... what do OUR 2 posts have in common? THEY ARE BOTH IRRELEVANT!

If your winning the game hinges on getting TOs, then you're already playing from behind.

Were the 49ers playing from behind in the Saints Game? Another moronic point....

Ok, i'll just say it, the Giants shut down and outrushed the 49ers even without Bradshaw playing.

a prediction.... fair enough you are definitely entitled to your opinion, but the problem I have is when you post false stats

"
What team has shut down the Saints?"  the 2 worst ones,TB and the Rams.

once again... IRRELEVANT..... are we using the Giants/Seahawks game and the Giants losing to the Redskins twice to Cap this game? NOOOOOO........... Erroneous!

Betting Trends for the game: Teams that win straight up as home underdogs in the playoffs (49ers) are 6-22-1 ATS the following game since 1985. The Giants are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 playoff road games."

FINALLY, A GREAT STATISTIC!!!!!! I KNEW YOU HAD IT IN YOU!!!!!! SEE YOU CAN POST A GOOD POINT ONCE YOU SIFT THROUGH ALL OF THE BULLSHIT..... WELL DONE!!!!!!

Still wearin' the rag Easy Pics. While it might be true that I make glib comments to summarize my feelings on a game, trust me fool- they are all very researched. Been capping for over 30 years. Some of us have to know what we're doing on the threads.  I could elaborate long stats & other handicapping methodologies that I use, but I instead choose to leave that to others, while I post a final play selection. As for the Balt/NE game- The Ravens will cover if they bring their A game, that was in reference to QB Joe Flacco's underperformance (which is well documented with his spat with Ed Reed), as well Off. Coordinator Cam Cameron's ultra conservative play calling which I feel has stifled offensive production. You just gotta realize Mr. Easy Pics- that somewhere out there ,there might actually be someone slightly a little more slick than you pretend to be.
