I agree with bloodyshredders analysis of the cross country traveling.... It could be a huge factoer

Do you think the 49ers defense will jump for the hail mary or just watch with their jaws wide open lol

it's the same reason the refs will be on the 49ers this game..... and again..... against the Giants....

it's because of only 1 reason....

the Giants/Packers line opened up at 9..... the public action drove the line down to 8.... 7.5 some places..... Vegas had the Packers....

here..... the line opened at 1..... Vegas know the money is going to be on the Giants again....  sharps bought it up to 2.5...... the public is going to HAMMER this line down to a pkem at kickoff....

Refs will be on the 49ers....

Giants haven't faced a defense like this since the last time they played the 49ers....  49ers are the only team that knows how to play defense in the NFC.....

NFC has the offense..... AFC has the defense (and Brady lol) this year....

Eli won't get alllllll day to throw like he did last week.....

Huge special teams advantage here.... with respects to all aspects of the special teams game..... kicking, kicking fgs.... returning.... coverage....

huge defensive advantage to the 49ers and 12th man home crowd.... defensive front unlike any the Giants have seen this year..... corners that play press coverage vs. the small gmen receivers (Nicks being the exception)..... corners and safeties that put real nfl hits on recievers and running backs causing fumbles (tell me manningham isn't good for a fumble?)

on the other side of the ball Alex Smith is not going to let loose.... they are going to have a conservative run game which is the only way to beat the Gmen's front line..... runs to the outside.... Alex Smith will be asked to manage the game.....

49ers, at home 12th man, defense, special teams, refs,  turnovers....

GL TO ALL!

Giants facing a defensive front unlike any they have seen this year?? With the excerption of the time they met already in San. Fran.and the Giants were without Bradshaw(San. Fran. won that game 27-20). Thats like taking Gore away from the 49ers and seeing how San. Fran. plays. My lean is on the Giants but no official play yet. Thinking of teasing the Giants up to +8.5 cause unless Giants lay an egg they are playing good ball right now and should be able to keep this game within 7 or win it outright.

GL All.

Rub it in will you...lol...Considering FoX was one of the top defensive coordinators next to Lebeau ,Denver's No show D surprised the hell out of me vs. Pats.
Still nothing as Ice cold as what you went through last year n' year before during the playoffs ! lol
You should know (as posted)  how I $moked the Books during the playoffs in last 3 years via football-Baseball n' Hockey.

As  far as this game is concerned , I totally disagree with the cross country travel theory less it be the Saints
Throughout recent history Blue has proven themselves as one of the top ultimate road warrior teams thriving on adversity.
2007 is the best example winning 3 playoff games on the road ,including acid test on frozen tundra and then beating heavily favored Pats in Arizona.
Perhaps part of Coughlin's philosophy ,Giant pedigree.
+ There is a familiarity factor having faced this top notch Frisco D which is a HUGE advantage for Gmen.
This game has field goal written all over ,perhaps via OT.
We shall see.
In any case , Best of Luck to you !

GB also had drops when they played in New Jersey, same team same drops. Why? Pressure!

The big plus for the Giants is Bradshaw didn't play last game against the 49ers, so the 49ers get their first look at him.

If the 49ers fall behind they are in trouble. Giants have out scored their last 4 opponents, including the 15-1 last season's champions, 121-50. Falling behind and catching up by running the ball will just not work, neither will kicking FGs.

49ers will try every trick play they can think of, because they know they need a edge. Giants win this one easy, all day!

Giants, moneyline!!! Giants 34, SF 16.

San Fran won their super bowl last week. Yes, alex smith proved a lot. But can you depend on that two games in a row ?  I can't. To be honest, I think the Gmen have the better defense going into this game. San Fran passing D isn't all that great. And Gmen defense has been stopping the run! Putting pressure on the quarterback. My money is on Eli over Smith. Eli has been there before and I think the pressure will mount for Alex. I don't see him coming out this time. Everyone talks about the traveling to S.F but Eli and the giants have proved many times that playing on the road is actually better for this team than having the media pressure and all that in New York so they like playing on the road and being underdogs. Feels kinda like the same 4 years ago huh.  Giants will stop Gore and force Smith to throw 42 times like he did against the Saints. I think that will be giants gameplan, which it should be, force Alex smith to win it again, and I don't think he will be up for the challenge. Yes he did it against the saints but their defense just wasn't there like the Gmens will be come Sunday. The talent on both sides of the ball favor the Gmen. Cruz, Nicks, Manningham, Brashaw and Jacobs with Eli vs. smith, Gore, and who? Crabtree and VDavis ? C'mon now that's not even close and the defensive side! Well I'll take the Gmen defensive line over anyone in S.F.  Too much pressure for Alex smith to handle. JPP, Osi, an Tuck will be the biggest reason why we will see a rematch in the Super Bowl.  It's all about momentum come playoff time and history showed that with them years ago  steelers did the same thing sneakin in the playoffs wen they won four road games an then beating Arizona. Green bay just did it last year sneakin in the playoffs as well with the week 17 win just to get in. It happens all the time. It's who hot goin into the playoffs and I just think the Giants are that team this year. Good luck everyone

I will be cheering on the Niners but I'm lookin to make some quick loot so I gotta take the G-Men and the points. Luckiest team on the planet. Just look at the Tyree catch on the helmet (1 in a million and 4 years ago I know), Osi strippin rodgers a tenth of a second b4 a sure Rodgers TD to tie the game, the Hail Mary at half after they clearly were trying to run the clock out the play b4. Looks like free money to me. Giants ML LARGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Also going to throw Pats and GMen in a teaser to cover my behind in case the GMen lay an egg. They tend to do that when I bet them. Week 1 & 16 vs Skins (2 Embarrassing Losses), Seattle Week 5 (Absolute Egg), Green Bay game in week 16 last year, etc.

Before you invest your hard earned cash, let's examine the teams: The Giants are 9-7 vs the Niners at 13-3.  If you can recall up until the last 2 weeks, neither Philly, Dallas, or NY wanted to sew the division up. I hope you can also recall the last 9-7 team to get,let alone dream of winning a SB. I can't and neither can you!  For the record: the G-men lost to Washington (twice!) , Seattle (for God's sake!) at home, barely beat Buffalo, and struggled against a winless Miami team, then beat a NE team that long ago forgot how to play defense. Follow that performance up with a 4 game losing streak, scraped by Dallas by 3 ,and then returned home to be smack down by the Deadskins 23-10 (wk#15). On the weight, of 2 victories, against the pathetic Jets and again the "Boys- they're in the playoffsAdd  2 more games 1) against a mediocre Falcon team on the road & 2) against GB that's has been playing terrible "D", and lo and behold they arrive at Candlestick on Sunday to challenge for the conference title. Is it any wonder, why Manning looks so invincible after beating up on a bunch of patsies? And now SF: Beat Seattle twice, Philly, Washington, the Giants, Detroit,Pittsburgh, & finally New Orleans. They split with Arizona losing a close game 21-19, lost to Dallas (in OT). Their worst beating was by 10 points to Baltimore. ANd we know what they're playing for this weekend! I rest my case. Is it a bet on the league's best defense, or a "snowball in hell's chance" on the mediocre Giants. I leave that up to you. A team with late momentum against suspect opponents, or one with a proven record.

I see the total keeps dropping..  I am really liking the Under here.  Will be tough sledding against these two defenses. I see sacks, i see a couple of goal line stands, settling for FG's.  Both teams will want to try to pound the ball to establish the line of scrimmage.  Lots of punts..  Clock runs quickly in these type of games.  Under 42 sounds like a good bet.

20-16 type of game.  And Eli is the edge to give the Giants the win!

NYG ML and Under 42.  GLA!

6-0 ats vs team with winning record

Niners  4-0 ats past 4 home games vs team with winning road record

7-0 ats past seven after allowing 250+yards in previous game

strong defence vs strong offence

Hey Hey YabadabaVue,

All n' all , What they say about opinions  n'  A-Holes holds true.
As some can do no more than redefine the meaning of square cappin'
with bias analysis such as yours.
Out of respect for our fellow reading degenerates, let's skip the BS while addressing your last posted "Stance".
Giants " Suspect opponents "  "Beating up on a bunch of patsies"  ?
So What should one call  Seattle , St Louis, Arizona that Frisco had  luxury of facing twice  in such a weak division ?
+ What do you call Tampa n' Cleveland ?
" Can you recall the last 9-7 team to get or let alone
dream ? of winning a SB " ?
Ironically, last year's SB Champ Packers ended the season @
10 -6 losing to such " Patsies" as Detroit, Miami and Washington.
Year before,Super Bowl Champs Saints had a cream puff schedule n' lost to Carolina n' Bucs.
Before that Super bowl champs Giants won it all with a 10 - 6 record.
Year before that Steelers won it all going 11-5 losing to Jags n'  Cinci.
So giving credit where it's due , no need being a sourpuss Vue .
Blue beat a Pats team @ Foxborro . A New England team that are proven winners , likely to play @ Indy in February. Blue knocked off defending champs Packers @ Lambeau,a team that nearly went undefeated and
" Patsies " or not it is incredibly difficult to shut down any playoff caliber team such as Atlanta with Matt Ryan at helm to the tune of  deuce points !

" Giants don't belong in the playoffs " ? ? ?  lol
On a personal note Vue , A little tidbit From me and the hundreds and thousands of  "Classless" customers from Smith n' Wollensky regarding your feeble comments.

" Don't let me catch up with you when I visit NY " ?

                        "   "
Careful what you ask for my Rolly Polly friend...Your 38 - 40 waistline is obviously mightier than your bloated head.
 " Stand by my statement " ?  " The silent treatment "
 so much for your stance...lol

IMO Season records become quite irrelevant when cappin' divisonal championship games n' Super Bowls.
Believe focusing on injuries, familiarity factor, momentum and recent stat trends will shed more insight than deceiving importance of season records.
One could say Frisco's 16 - 3 record to be deceiving considering 8 out of their 16 matches were vs "Patsies" in a weak division.
Giving credit where it's due,Frisco has a formidable Defense allowing an NFL record 1 rushing TD this year ( regardless of patsies or not, quite a feat).
However Frisco's soft white underbelly was exposed much to Coughlin's delight when D.Brees torched SF's secondary to the tune of 462 yrds
 + 4 TD's.
For record's sake, ELI tossed 311 yrds 26/40 vs. Frisco in November n'
will likely to repeat those numbers .
Unfortunately for SF, Blue is playing way better ball than last meeting @ SF with a healthy D + O line pumpin' on all pistons.
Flip side,Alex Smith tossed 299 yrds, 3 TD's 24/42 vs porous Saints D. However Frank Gore only rushed for 89 yrds.
Against Blue,Smith tossed 242 yrds 19 / 30 1 TD and appears stuck on that avg. Seems probable to repeat similar numbers in what should be a tighter fought trench game considering  familiarity factor.
While Saints have proven their struggles over the years outside of NO (look what happened @ Seattle last year) Giants have proven to thrive on the playoff road under adverse conditions, defying the odds.
Saints sacked Smith 3 times n'  Blue should match that n' hopefully more.Frisco were tops at creating turnovers n'  ELI Int. could be the difference in the game.
Believe game could easily go either way.Loved Alex Smith's poise n' pinpoint precision under playoff pressure last week , however  not sold on Gore being such a factor in this one.
Fact is Giants are finally 100 % healthy n' playing way better ball than last meeting @ Frisco where game could of easily gone Blue's way with Gigantes winning clock battle 34:37 to Frisco's 23:23 +
As "SPYWEB" noted, done without weapon # 1 Bradshaw who finally appears to be healthy + Jacobs who has apparently found new life after draggin' his behind all year long OR was it just the fact that Blue's 0 Line is finally healthy n' clickin' ,finally opening up those running lanes.
IMO Value lies on Blue ML n' more considering odds are set @ 3.75 for Blue to win between 1 - 6 pts  @  6 - 1 for Blue to win between 7 - 12 pts and 9 - 1 to win between 13 - 18 pts .
Often, towards closing playoff tics, trash TD's are scored on either side much like Blue did vs Pack in desperation mode, hence winning between 13 - 18 pts can conceivably happen.
@ 9 - 1 it's worth a shot n' some cash will be covering that action along with Blue ML

I'm an SF homer so read my post with consideration. What a great game that was SF vs NO!!!  Like last week, I will not touch any game that SF plays because being a homer, my favoritism might make my thinking cloudy.

I think SF will win this game because they will out-coached and out-lucked the Giants.  Somehow, someway, Jim Harbaugh and the coaching staffs will find a way to win the game.  Home-field advantage is our biggest advantage.. Our crowd will be louder than GB's.  Why out-lucked??  The weather.. It will start raining today (Thursday) and will rain throughout the weekends.  Candlestick Park will be wet and windy.. Not a good sign for Eli.  Great for a Defensive and Rushing team!   Delanie Walker may be back.. He can be surprise from the SF team.
Giants were great last week.  Their defense were terrific and Eli was awesome.  But I saw their victory was mainly because of GB's poor play.  Where was the mobile, bullseye-shooting Aaron Roger that we've known throughout the season?? Where were all the good receivers?? All those fumbles and turnovers??  Will be a great game to watch this week..  GO SF!!

I agree.... my playoff record from last year was horrible..... 2 years ago.... atroucious lol.... it kept me gunshy this year and I didn't make as much as I should've after going 4-0 ATS round 1..... I would be in a solid position if the Ravens covered last week, but I find myself even after the Packers debacle last week.... but I had a career regular season, after a career regular season from last year as well....

I am definitely getting better at capping after roughly 9 years and I definitley have many covers posters here to give credit too...

back to the game...

rain is down at an expected 40% but the field will have terrible conditions...

this favors SF as the more explosive team losses speed.... 9ers will be pounding the rock and relying on their far superior special teams to keep Alex Smith in his comfort zone.... you definitely won't see Smith throwing the ball 42 times.... this will be a controlled game.... the pass rush will be neutralized if SF can establish the run game.... last meeting the 49ers didn't run the ball much at all as the gameplan was to suprise the Giants defense by putting the ball in Alex Smith's hands especially on first down.... that will not happne this week....

last week vs. the Saints SF experience record setitng temperatures and the outside conditions that everyone talks about were a non-factor..... that came is was the closest to DOME temperatures as possible, so I don't buy this idea that the Saints played poorly because they were on the road and not an outdoor team..... the Saints played great.... and the only reason why they didn't beat the 9ers was because of TURNOVERS.... there is no correlation between this game and the Seattle game last year....

and by turnovers I don't meen Kuhn throwing the ball while he's running through tackles....

those were real turnovers caused by real hits.... and a rediculous interception

SF has one of the best defenses in the league.... they have 6 pro-bowl defenders....1 at 2 positions which is the first time in NFL history.... Patrick Willis is not even the best linebacker on the team!....

Give me 1 defense that the Giants have played that's as good as this bunch?

I was just watching the replay of last weeks Giants Packers game.... that defense played atroucious and Eli Manning had ALLLLL DAY to throw..... there's no way that is happening this week with aldon and justin smith....

Giants matchup well against teams that don't establish the run i.e. New England, Green Bay, Dallas.....

this is going to be a messy game and the team who has less turnover will win this.... my money is on SF....

oh yeah, add a cross-country flight to the equation!

GL TO ALL!

Easy-

not a hockey fan but have been rooting for the Rangers the last couple of years and this year I'm on the bandwagon.... I live on Long Island out east, commute 2 hrs/day... work downtown Broadway by wall street across from zuccoti park and the 99% LOL.... I'd be open to meeting for a drink any Ranger game during the week that I'm in NYC.... would be a good time exchanging capping stories lol
